    You should mention that you can option the engine up in all trim levels. For instance, for $395.00 you can get 430 ft/lbs of torque in the Trail Boss.

    Great video! Very informative. Interested in a mid-size or 1/2 ton truck to tow a Casita travel trailer (2,900 lbs) 5,000 to 7,500 miles per year. Will also be a daily driver, so thinking about a mid-size. Payload for a topper and camping gear is important. If we go midsize, would like 1,500 lbs of payload or more. As long as the tow capacity is above 5,000 lbs, great; however, impressed with the Colorado’s max tow capacity of 7,700 lbs. I am not brand loyal and am considering all options. I don’t need or want a luxury truck. I want 4wd, but don’t need something like the ZR2 (plus too much of payload penalty). Thank you for your in-depth video.

    I'm undecided between the Colorado ZR2 and the Nissan Pro4X , The Nissan has a simplicity that seems like it may be more reliable in the long term, but that chevy also looks good and seems more modern. Gotta make a choice soon. Let me know your opinion between these two trucks.

    • @MtnRoads

      That a pretty even comparison. On paper Nissans V6 has more payload and trailering capacity by a few hundred lbs even though the ZR2 has more torque and same HP. I agree with you, I think the ZR2 has the better packaging and looks. I really like the ZR2 interior, definitely seems more modern. So I guess it depends what your after, both seem like capable trucks. I dont know how long you can wait, but maybe give it a few months for production to ramp up on the Colorados.. see if any issues come up with them. I will say, the ZR2 is on my list to check out.. Do you have experience or just randomly throwing out your random guesses? The larger Silverado uses it and has gotten good reviews.
      In the end, it's the driver and how they treat the engine that determine longevity. Care for it and do regular maintenance, it'll be fine. Abuse it and treat it like a race car and it won't last, like other engines.

    • @jeffreyjohnston6843
      @jeffreyjohnston6843 Год назад

      @@elche1976 I have read lots of reviews on the issues people have had with the motor all the way to the sales. Silverado's that have this motor don't sell well they tend to sit on sales lot, whereas the models with the other larger motors, they can't keep them on the lot they sell so fast. and yes, over the yrs. I have seen how the larger motors last so much longer even with the same care and treatment. to get the same power out of a smaller motor that a larger motor has, it has to have a more violent explosion in the cylinder, which is harder on the pistons the rings the cylinder walls the valves and even rod bearing. That is why they use turbos on the motors, it compresses the air into the cylinder to create a more compressive (violent) explosion. naturally aspirated motors suck air into the cylinder, as the piston drops it sucks air in with the fuel and there for the explosion is less compressed and its a less violent event. that's why the same motor they are offering will have different horsepower, the motors will all be the same, the difference will be the turbos weather it will be done threw programing or just a more powerful turbo. the ones with the higher horsepower will have more air compressed into the cylinders and have a more violent explosion, and the higher horsepower motors will not last as long and the lower horsepower motor. I am not sure if I was able to explain it well. but that's why I say they won't last as long and won't be as reliable as a naturally aspirated motor because now you are introducing a turbo to the equation which it one more thing that can go wrong with the motor and making it less reliable. Other words something else that can fail and need repair.

      @jeffrey johnston I stopped at, I read reviews.
      Sure, that's called no experience. The remaining novel, I'm sure was riveting as well.

      @jeffrey johnston no. When you admit you have no experience, you could just as well invent whatever you want. Be an adult and provide links to these reviews. I can make up "reviews as well". Cheers. You may resume your crying now.

    Why is the z71 more then the trail boss

    • @MtnRoads
      @MtnRoads  Год назад +2

      I would say think of the Z71 as a luxury version of the Trail Boss. Z71 has more conveniences standard, better interior standard and some better mechanicals too. Trail Boss is a lot more stripped down then the Z71.

    I'm surprised the bed capacity and tow ratings are so high on the WT and LT. 237HP and 259lb-ft is rather pathetic. Don't think I'd dare tow a 7K lb trailer with that. Looks like the sweet spot would be the Trail boss with a fairly loaded 4X4 going just north of 40K. The ZR 2 will be very pricey and not very capable as a truck. With only a little more then 1K lbs capacity and 6K tow that is about the same as my 2019 Frontier P4X which is based off a F-Alpha design from 2005. Its main purpose of course is off roading. The multimatic suspension is really nice both on and off road.

    Not even 35 inches of legroom in the back seat. That's a deal breaker for me. I wish manufacturers would stop trying to force their customers into full size trucks if they want rear seat legroom.

    Nice Truck BUT not worth asking price of all these trim levels. The Price for this truck is ridiculous. But that’s why these vehicles are going up in price theirs at least a few idiots that will pay these ridiculous prices. Nice Truck overall but but the Price will kill the sell of these trucks

    Did Chevrolet fix the crappy 8 speed transmission. Chevy doesn't stand behind their vehicles I know I own a 2022 Colorado Z 71 and in cold weather the transmission doesn't operate properly and Chevrolet won't fix it.

    It’s too bad gm doesn’t at least give consumers the option for heated seats and a leather wrapped steering wheel in trail boss.
    These are all overpriced anyways. You’re paying what full size should be and full size is luxury high end sports car pricing now.
