The 1979 Alabama Crimson Tide was AWESOME!!! Coach Bryant considered the 1966 team his best, but he said that the '79 team was probably his most complete team. Great offense, supreme defense, good special teams...very complete.

i remeber watching this game,it was such a big deal at the time. it was the renewal,of the bama tech rivalry,,, and yes bana vs ga.tech was a huge rivalry back in the day, .it was the first game they had played since tech left the sec.

Damm! At 1:34, center Dwight Stephenson trucked that nose guard. It's 2022, and its still gonna be long day for #51...lol Pancake after pancake.

The 81 game is from ESPN Classic, but should be up tomorrow. Thought I put it up with the other 81 USC games, but missed it.

Little did people know Georgia Tech would win a Natty in 90 before Alabama would win another one in 92 after 79 season.

If I am correct, Steve Spurrier was an assistant coach at Georgia Tech this season.

Wish they would still play each other instead of all the cupcake games they have now. No reason to have 1/3 of the schedule be cupcakes

Three clips in one game? Bullshit. Refs holding score down for the home folks.
    Major Ogilvie! Loved that guy.
Love how Bama OL fires off the ball. You can hear serious collisions on every play. Imagine the practices for OL.

Alabama's 1979 OL was awesome...possibly Coach Bryant's best offensive line ever, and he had some good ones.
