My babies ! I’m so proud of all of them.. Tobin made me emotional and the double mewis goal was so sweet - I’m gonna enjoy watching this bunch at the Olympics.. they really look like they’re having fun and clicking well.
Such a fun game to be at! My first USWNT 10 years ago was at that same field, almost same conditions against France. Great memories!

@@cottonclould She got hurt in a redstars game a month or two ago, but she still made the olympic roster, so we'll have to wait to see how well she plays. Horan has been playing a great 6 with Ertz out, and Sonnet and Davidson both can play that spot if needed I believe.

IOC actually announced a rule change. Teams can bring 22 players and name their 18 person active roster before each game so all the alternates will go to Japan.

Unfortunately, this send-off game against Mexico is fools gold because Mexico is not an Olympic caliber team to challenge. The USWNT team will easily win by pressurizing and bullying the lesser and inexperienced team, which won't help them in the long run if they can't work on creativity and set pieces to score. The top teams won't be intimidated by the U.S., which will expose their basic offensive and weak defensive front. If they only took the time to work on ball skills and creativity goals rather than a free-for-all to scoring, they might be in decent shape to win the Olympics. I will inevitably watch them because I'm a huge fan of some of their players but collectively, I think they are disconnected.
I will relish the game that USWNT loses, even with the paid off refs.

All nations men's teams playing at the Olympics are U-23 (actually 24 this year because of covid). It's the rules, because reasons. There are no restrictions on the Women's teams.

Turning your back on the US flag while the anthem is being played by a 100 year old US WWII veteran is very disrespectful and shameful.
