Do you think we'll be able to make more than the $400 we spent? Hale$ YES or Hale$ NO? If you liked this video, then you'll LOVE this one: ruclips.net/video/mvKdMu5BH6M/видео.html
The Bell is a vintage school hand bell. It was used to call students into the classroom. Like at the start of school or call to come in from recess. I'm 76 years old and my first two schools still used them. In eearly 50's they were replaced with an electric system in most non-rural schools.
You found some lovely items there and I love the Disney items, especially Pluto he was always my favourite lol. The cat that sits on its stand is lovely too, my late Mum would have loved it, I have her 2 large cat ornaments they are chalk and heavy and sit in the fire place. All in all I would say you have or will make a good profit with such lovely items. Take care my friend and good luck Mary-Ellen UK
Looks like an old school bell. Some really good buys. I normally will try to look things up but not feeling to well today. But you bought some items that will bring you some resell value good going.
Oh wow, you guys, please, PLEASE, take an extra good look as those books, they are awesome! George I saw you open one that was a copyright of 1850!! I was hoping so bad you would open them all.! Lots of collectors will pay good money to take great care of those! Great vid! The Disney figurines will do great also!
Another Great Video i think the bell is an old school marms bell they used to use to let the kids know it was time to come in (love the monty python reference)
The bell is like the nuns used at our school in Norfolk, Va in the 1950’s. The school was built in 1896 and there was no school bell except for the hand carried bell.
The books would be great to stack on a table as a decorative piece.. I think a lot of what you all got will make for some really nice decorative pieces.. good picking...
The jumping dog bank was popular in the 80s, I bought them for my kids. That bell looks like the type that teachers would have used to call the students into class in the morning and at recess/lunch, think 1 room schools like in Little House on the Prairie.
I'm not really that old but do remember when I went to a rural elementary school back in the 50' that had only 6 class rooms n they used a bell like that. I always wished I could have that bell.
Our big TV Celebrities here were, 1) Len Dawson, champion KC Cheifs Quarterback of the early '70's and 2) Fred Broski who was our local "Bowling for Dollars" host. I actually went to school with his son and daughter. They lived nextdoor to one of my friends.
My 6th grade teacher had a bell like that she rang to get the boys to stop being loud. I taped the clanger to the bell when we were supposed to be at lunch. Only one person new I did it and they never told. Lol #stinker at times.
The School Principle at my Catholic Grammar School would use a bell (@10:40 )like that at the end of recess and classes... We are talking about a long time ago... Call me; GRAM in TEXAS
