The Golf r is probably one of the best choices when you want decent power such as sound and a compact driveable car for the city with a probably good fuel consumption, in that case the car is awesome. Its a sweet little car, but the popping and farting sounds are unnecessary. The right exhaust setup makes this thing a lot better sounding tho!

The crackle and pop tune is unnecessary but the gear change farts are because of ignition delay to make the dsg shift smoother

Don't you find the Akrapovic quieter? Not at idle or launch control but when moving / pressing. Sounds airy to me. I have the MK7 R (when Akrapovic wasn't an option) so I'm slightly jealous of course - but I still think for the money they could have done more.

@@M2c_5xx that's a lot For that price you could've done a Res delete and VCDS code the exhaust flaps to stay open (plus enough for new brakes and new tyres!). Isn't the 4k Euros including other things like speed limiter increased and better tyres? Performance Pack I think it's called.

Not sure what actually causes the fart, but eliminating it would be better. Then work on the tone of the 4 pot itself.
its the dsg gearbox that causes the fart, every dsg equipped vehicle makes that sound
