Sorry Brian It doesn't always work for Windows 10/11 to boot directly to the desktop. It's not particularly difficult, but it's only possible if you use a "local user account" on the Windows 10 or 11 computer. If the user account is linked to a "Microsoft account", it is not possible to start Windows 10 without a password. That's because unauthorized people, if they don't have to enter your Microsoft account password, can access your email, documents, and everything related to Microsoft's online services.
Do you have any idea to round the startup with the user account linked to a "Microsoft account?

Not true. I have only one Account (Mircosoft) and my pc boots without password. All I remember is that I had to change something in the registry to "0". Here it gets explained, but it is german ---------> "Windows 10 & 11 OHNE Passwort starten! (2024)"

If you leave the Password text box blank when you are setting up windows 10 or 11 for the first time, it will automatically never ask you for the password..

I do find that having to log in every time annoying but I guess that's the price to pay for having security. But this is still very good to know none the less should I ever feel the need to remove the security. However what I would like to see is for Microsoft do something like this for updates, so when the system re-boots it automatically returns you back to home screen and not login screen. That is the only time I would like that
What I am curious about is if this is done can you still lock screen by clicking lock or sign out to lock computer to require a password or pin? Or does this circumvent it all?
    Great video,
    Thank you Brian!

You made it look so easy BUT....I don't have "PasswordLess" listed under my current version???
When I scroll down current version to where it should be, I have 'OpenGLDrivers' then next below that is 'PeerNet'.🤷‍♀
The login is driving me nuts!
My laptop is running windows 10.
First used a 'pin code' and decided to remove that, but now windows requires me to type my full password to login instead!🤦‍♀
Before watching your video I previously went into accounts and UNchecked the box which says "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer".
But after re-start, windows STILL asks for a password to login!!
That's what brought me to your video. I'm still searching for a way to accomplish this!
Maybe "PasswordLess" wasn't listed because I went into account and removed checkmark first?? I dunno!! 😣

Warning! This process did not work well at all for my Lenovo IdeaPad 320.
After reboot it took me to a screen that said " we are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later."
After the second reboot, an error message window popped up but quickly dropped so I couldn't tell what the error was. Then went back to the same process.
Eventually (several minutes) I was routed to a generic screen with date and time with no indication of log in. Clicking on the screen brought me to a log in screen asking for my password again.
After another lengthy wait I was finally logged into my desktop.
At one point I was not sure if I was locked out of my system. I'll try to revert back.
While trying to revert back, I find that in the user accounts box no longer shows the option of turning on/off user password requirement. After rebooting, again, the mess starts all over again.
Not happy. The boot process is now more than twice as long as it was.
This is a good reminder to all to back your system up BEFORE trying these kinds of things from self proclaimed experts.

@@newellbarrett5537 ok, i dont know know how every browser in the world works but there have to be a way.
If you use edge it may be a "Edge thingy" it does.
Since it ask for pin (windows pin?).. only the operating system know the pin code to log in.
The number verification is the same as i get when i log in to my mail and such, its a 2 step verification. I think you can turn it off in the service settings it you want it easy but i cant say how it affect the safety.
There is a setting in many services that remember the computer MAC and it wont ask for the verification from that MAC next time if you save the computer/device, that way you will have the extra 2 step verification but it wont ask you for it when you use that computer/device.
I dont know what services you use and i dont want to know, privacy, private life and such.. but look in the settings for the services you use and look for 2 step verification setting.
The 2 step verification is sent from the service, not the browser.
I got a situation where the 2 step verification was the best safety yesterday.. i checked my mail and someone did try and reset my password on a facebook account i never use anymore. So the 2 step verification can be a good safety feature, like in my case.
They never managed to change my password or log in to my facebook account.

Cant you just go to the user account and deal with this. All the registry stuff you gotta go through as a pain in the ass. I didn't have to do this and I go directly to my desktop every time I turn on my computer. They make it exceptionally hard to do this when you buy a new computer

I don't get the reasoning behind this, does this mean anyone can then log into your PC without a password? If yes, why bother woth passwords in yhe first place🤔
