YES!!! Finally normal happy gay movie!!! I was sick and tired of all the other gay movies showing hate and torture and melodramatic depression. All i wanted to see was two regular guys who are happy and make it! Thanks for this! Make more happy films showing the good realities of life!
What a great short movie. I live in NYC and it was always my dream to hug and kiss the man of my dreams in Grand Central in front of the world. And have almost no one notice because LGBT relationships in NYC are so accepted. A pretty good portrayal of the heartaches and heartbreaks of being in love with someone who is stuck with an unaccepting family. My Mom wouldn't even tell my Father I was gay before he died. She was too ashamed of me. I guess the world was a far different place back then..... thankfully.
Great acting photography and editing Jon..........I've seen the old version as well many times. Thankyou, I will always remember this film. Walt in Miami
I've known several women like this mother, albeit without the hint of redemption at the end, in my life, my own mother among them. The scene in which the mother looks at the albums at the table reminds me of the scene in "Ordinary People" in which Donald Sutherland realizes that he can no longer remain with his wife, but with the opposite result. The dance scene at the end brought to mind a very awkward moment in a social setting in which I was more-or-less compelled to dance with a female real estate agent (the only woman I've ever danced with) who then kept trying to urge me to come back to her house with her. Boy, she was barking up the wrong tree on that.
I have seen this film twice now over the past few years. Excellent job! A naughty comment though - did anyone see the bags the boys packed? My partner packs 3 times that for just a weekend away!
Now with correct subtitles in english! and thanks to google translate is can be translated to all the languages of the world! If you are bilingual and would be willing to do a transcription, please let me know and I would be happy to provide you a transcript file of the movie.
I feel like this really could have worked as a full length film, it seems sort of rushed with the mom's complete 180 in opinions, and it's sort of jarring. There's a lot of room for expansion, and it's a shame how short this film is.
I wish I could have made it a feature. There is definitely more story there to be told. Unfortunately my limitations for the school project and budget kept me from fully realizing Miles Apart.
So was this a college or high school project by someone, because the acting is really bad, the script was bad and it looked like it was taped on a home video camera. After watching most of it I felt compelled to watch it to the end, but wow what a waste of time.

Miles is gorgeous. So is the story line. Its very nice to see a movie that moves at the right tempo, making it interesting.

A real tear jerker! Just wish it could have happened to me. Then again, 'never say never'.
You did an excellent job portraying what can come to past if you just hold on a little while longer like Miles did for Jeffery, Well done!!!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
We need more movies like this one!
I agree, it could have been a bit longer but I would rather have a short and sweet ending like this one. Very nice!
Never say never to watch a good short film as this one.
I cried when the mother realized how he felt.
