It's Rush baby It's Rush.
They are incredible live. The can replicate studio sound live so well.
Saw them 31 times ,starting in 1981 moving pictures tour, best shows ever
I saw them more than one time, starting in 1980 for the Permanent Waves tour and saw them a total of 32 times. Every concert was great, especially starting with Vapor Trails, where they dropped having opening acts and just played for over three hours themselves. Those were really great times, because two hours of Rush just aren’t enough. The two hours always went by too fast and ended leaving you wanting more. They had a lot of good opening acts over the years, but I preferred just seeing Rush for the entire night.
Where haven't I seen Rush?
The one I remember most was at the Maple Leaf Garden in Toronto. My brother and I flew up there from Texas to see them.
He is in a wheelchair. They put us in the player's box so we were a coupla feet from the floor and had an amazing view of the stage.
Great reaction….great song from a great album. Welcome to the rabbit hole of RUSH…. La Villa Strangiato and YYZ is a must….
This little gem is off their 9th studio album Signals, other good ones off this record are The Analog Kid and his alter ego The Digital Man. 😊
Gotta do more RUSH! Phenomenal band! You will see.
Great reaction, I'm sure you will enjoy doing more Rush songs!
Saw them 12 times between 1983 at Wembley London and their 6th last concert in NYC in 2015 with my son. Every concert was brilliant and they were 1 of the best live rock/prog acts in history with the drummer's (Neil Peeart The Professor) amazing drum solo at each concert. 3 of the finest musicians on the planet.
I wish I was your son
All three guys are top-tier musicians in their instruments. Neil Peart is regarded at one of the very top rock drummers of all times. They had 19 albums over 40 years, and always pushed themselves musically, so the sound you hear will be reflective of the decade it came out. Try Tom Sawyer or Limelight next. Cheers!
saw these guys in concert over a dozen times
Welcome to Rush! Three master musicians from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦
Geddy Lee Vocals, Bass and Keyboards
Alex Lifeson acoustic and electric guitar, mandola and later keyboards
Neil Peart Drums, Percussion and Main Lyrist
Unfortunately Neil Peart passed from brain cancer in January of 2020.
He is considered one of the best drummers in rock.
Suggestions
Red Barchetta from Exit Stage Left
YYZ live in Rio
Digital Man from the Snakes and Arrows tour
Cheers
Have loved this band since 1976 when I first heard "2112". Wow! GOAT IMO! Seen them 10 times throughout their history and each show was truly an experience! Sounded amazing!
Many Rush fans have seen the band dozens of times, basically touring with them (informally, of course).
I have a terrible memory so I can only guess, but I'd say I saw them around a dozen times. The venues were all within the Greater Toronto Region (both the former and current home of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club, plus the hockey arena in nearby Hamilton, the Ampitheatre down by the lake near downtown Toronto, and a massive, former air force base north of Toronto) plus one stop in suburban Detroit, if memory serves.
The first time I saw them was in 1984. The song to which you reacted, Subdivisions, was the lead track on the band's 9th (of 19!!!) studio albums, 1982's Signals.
The song instantly resonated with all of the nerds, stoners, and misfits of the time, myself included. I think that's because it spoke to the problems we faced as teens growing up in the 70's and 80's - frowning under the weight of societal expectations and peer pressures. I know it made a devoted fan out of me from the day I first heard it.
As for the experience of seeing Rush live, the good news is that they released now fewer than a dozen concert albums/DVDs - so there's an abundance of material available for future reactions. Better still, Rush was widely known and admired for their stage performance, owing to their stamina, dedication to fans, and out-of-this-world musicianship.
If I were to suggest one performance to get you started, it would probably be YYZ live in Rio.
Been a massive fan since 1983, they never came to my country one single time in almost 50 years of existence, so I flew from Australia to North America three times just to see them. That's the kind of loyalty and dedication this band inspired in its fans....
That’s dedication man. I probably would have done the same, but I live in Florida where they came through for every album tour. I got to see them 32 times, beginning in 1980 for the Permanent Waves tour and never missed them in any tour afterwards.
Flying all that way to see them is awesome. I can’t believe that Rush never toured Australia in over 40 years? I’m sure they had a lot of fans there. The band didn’t even know they had so many fans in South America and never toured there until the 90s, where they sold out soccer stadiums. That wasn’t even an English speaking continent, whereas Australia at least speak English as a first language, so I’m shocked they never toured there?
@@RoarOfWolverine I'll never forget, the first show I went to (Toronto in '02), I got chatting to the bloke in front me me, he said he was at his '112th Rush show!' I said, 'well, this is my first ever, but I've flown all the way from Australia for it'. And he said: 'you win!'
Hey my young friend, I only saw RUSH once(Power Windows Tour) In Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. RIP "The Professor" Neal Peart! Life long Fan! check out Xanadu (live In Monteal 1981)😀👌👍👍👍✌
Huge RUSH fan. Seen them live about 12 times!! This song was my teen years. Maybe my favorite song. Hearing RUSH led me to become a musician. Lots of great stuff!!
My favorite Rush song
In my subjective opinion, Rush is the greatest 3-piece band ever. I used to say there will never be another, but a band called The Warning is quickly convincing me otherwise. Rush will always be my favorite, but you should also give The Warning a listen as well. Recommendations:
Rush-The Spirit of Radio
The Warning-Evolve
Working Man Live In Cleveland - and please do not pause during the instrumental section.
🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🐐 🐐 🐐
"Spirit of the Radio" live Sars Concert or Toronto Rocks if you want to see them live.
Seen Rush 23 times and they are hands down the greatest band live bar none
The drummer…wow indeed. Rush on.
You have stumbled upon the best band to ever do it. Three dudes making an enurmous amount of sound and they actually sound just as good live as they do in studio.
I discovered Rush during the counterparts tour and I saw them every tour from then until they retired. Once, perhaps even three times each tour 😊 they put on an amazing show personally I've always felt that they are sound better in person versus on the album. I would bring binoculars to the show so that I could see the drum solo better! 😂 One of my favorite things that I know it's silly to say this is that I never had to wait in line for the restroom!!!! There was maybe one girl there for every 20 guys 😂 trust me when I say this is something that girls really appreciate. Each tour about 50% of the material was the new album and the rest of it was pretty much all of the quote unquote Rush Staples. Free will, limelight, Tom sawyer, La Villa strangiato, YYZ, subdivisions, all are part of 2112, working man, dreamline, bravado, mission, Spirit of radio, the trees....
Amazing song! Try Tom Sawyer next!
Saw Rush back in 1981, then for Moving Pictures tour again 2011! Rush is one of a kind. C'mon man! Dive deep Sir !!
As close to a perfect song as you’re likely to find.
Do live test for echo 1997 or show don't tell 1990. Any live Rush is great. They don't have a bad song.😊😊😊
I saw Rush
Twice
They ate amazing live
You have to react to Rush YYZ Live
You will not be disappointed
"Are they any good live?" Get ready, my friend. See you at the bottom of this rabbit hole! Hang on, and enjoy the ride.
Your volume level was too low in comparison to the song, if you could balance those a bit more it would help not blast out my eardrums in the headphones. 😂
I wasn't able to get a clear sense of how much Rush you knew, they have a huge discography to go through if you haven't.
This song is probably the best song off signals but u have to go back to the deep cuts from earlier albums to get the best RUSH, THEY HAVE SOME OF GREATEST SONGS EVER IN THE DEEP CUTS FROM THAT ERA. BUT LAST THING DON'T VOTE A WANT TO BE DICTATOR THINK OF U CHILDREN PEASE.
you just don't pause all the time with this band. too many pauses. no thanks.
Exactly..then with all that yapping he fails to realize what the song was about..Never even mentioned the lyrics . think he would have looked at the video to get a clue🤣
although you paused too many times i was vested in my interest of your reaction. Um, listen to your audience.
Ruuuuush!
Balance your voice with the music, please.
Rush sucks!!!! I hate them!!!! I’ve hated them for 40 years!!!!!!!
Oh wait. I thought this was Opposite Day. 🤣🤣🤣
Best band ever. Period.
This song. Not their best.
