In the 1980’s, I was a single mom of two and little money. We moved into a rental house with lots of windows and no curtains. I hung sheets for awhile. Eventually I went to a fabric store and bought a ton of the cheapest fabric I could find - burlap. I made pinched pleated floor-length lined drapes for 4 rooms. They gave us the privacy we needed and looked great! (And I was really proud of myself.)
Kelly, you were a great host this month! You always do such a great job with these challenges and I am so glad you are in the MBC! You handled that toilet brush like a champ! Thank you for trusting me to make a special project to honor Ray. It was my favorite project I made. Great job, crafty friend!
Honestly, I don’t think anything is a challenge for you, Kelli. You’re so creative. You always find a way to do something unique with different items. I’m never shocked. I’m never surprised at your creativeness. It just seems to come so naturally for you. Good job girlfriend.👏👏👏👏
Loved everything but especially the cow plaque! I think you may have missed a burlap opportunity with the scroll part 🤔 btw...the memorial piece that Courtney made you for Ray was absolutely beautiful, thoughtful and useful.
SHE’S BAAAAACK !! So good to see you creating and inspiring us all ( in every way) Go Kelly Go !!! My favorite mystery box series so far👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 loved your theme as host and the the crafty cleverness of your creations 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😁
😂😂😂😂 my favorite part of watching the mystery box challenge is seeing the looks on all of your faces when u get something really challenging. But you all manage to still make neat stuff. Love it!!
Burlap for curtains, are super super cute. A friend of a friend. Had some in her house. They was so cute. They fit her decor, perfectly. ( I grew up calling burlap bags, crocker sacks. That's what the men and women who oystered for a living put the oysters in ). I love watching all the mystery box challenge. They are so fun to watch. I am having a hard time trying to pick a favorite one. They all turned out so good. Thanks and may you have a Blessed day.
Kelly you never cease to amaze me. You can take anything and craft with it. The toilet brush handle was genius. I love what you did with the heifer plaque. It is great having you back happy and smiling. You go Kelly. Cant keep a good woman down. Have a safe happy weekend. Love you Kelly. ❤😊
If you want the burlap look with your curtains use the large canvas drop cloths that painters use. My sister has them in her house and they’re gorgeous.
I have burlap curtains in my living room. I didn't even sew them, I just folded over the rod and pinned with rusty safety pins. Privacy with a little light.
Kelli, the cow bell is absolutely adorable! Loved the cork board! You are amazing, who would have thought to make a toilet paper roll holder out of the brush handle! Fantastic! Oh my goodness, the cow on the gingham holder, so beautiful!❤️❤️
This was such fun! When you are given a toilet flood, you also get a brush to clean it up! Your talent shows itself in the challenge! It’s great to see what you come up with! 💛
😍Loveee all 5 of your mystery box challenges! you did so awesome it's hard to pick a fave🤠love the cow🐮scroll, the cow bell🐄the farm kitchen utensil holder, the picture and message🌻board, toilet paper holder. All are fantastic and inspiring✨🫶🏼
I watched you first, but I already know you did the best. You are the most artistic, creative and think outside the box crafter I've seen. Your designs always have the most polished outcome. Go Kelly. You rock. No stitches this time?
I think it’s time to get more challenging and weird with getting those items. It’s so funny and entertaining when something outrageous comes thru to DIY. love to see more DIYer vs DIYer. No mercy. Their faces on a mystery item is priceless. Love how everyone still manages to come thru with great projects.
Hey crafting friend! I knew you would crush it! I love your projects, but even more I love your happy attitude. We both had holders in mind. Your TP and I did a paper towel holder. Something must be in the air. That cow plaque just made me laugh when I saw it and knew I had to send it to you! Thank you for not being too sour with me!
You nailed this challenge with every item you made! I think my favorites were the cowbell, and the utensil holder! But all are so clever, so creative, so stinkin’ cute! You did a super job creating and hosting. You seemed genuinely refreshed and chipper! ❤❤❤
So good to see you creating again! Always enjoy seeing your creations & farmhouse themed projects are right up my alley! You are so loved dear sister & you are completely enough for each day!
Kelly, you did a beautiful job! I especially love the cow bell, kitchen tool hanger, and the scroll! Amazing! And wear whatever you want to any time…you are as lovely as ever!
The moment I saw you hold up broom holder item, the dowels, and toilet brush, even skimmer, I thought make birds nests using bristles of brush, stick in flowers, tie ribbon bows on handles. Skimmer can hold a birds nest too. Dowels can be painted brown, put pipe cleaners on and make branches, glue on flowers, birds. Put in the broom holder to hang on your wall.
so before I watch what you made with all of these cause I’m watching the replay, I have to say when you hung up the toilet brush and the skimmer on that garden tool I immediately thought of a kitty litter tool set. One for scoopin the poop and then the brush may be for cleaning the kitty litter box. Then you just clipped those babies up on the little clippy things and let them dry. Of course you may have to put some sort of little sign above that says kitty litter cleaning station.
❤ You are officially amazing!! As long as you have twine, burlap and dirt, you got this!! So clever and functional and beautiful!! Great job 👏 Love and hugs to you,the girls and of course the scrumptious furr babies!! 🦋
Ah, this was just what I needed after a long day at work. Laughing while watching your expressive face when you look at the items. And then the enjoyment and excitement when you come up with the cool ideas. These mystery box challenges add an extra element of fun to the DIY videos. Really love seeing what y'all come up with. I liked all of your creations, but gotta say that the "heifer" plaque was so adorable. Thanks for the relaxing and fun video. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and have a great weekend!
Great DIYS Kelly! I loved them all but the Farmhouse Kitchen and the Heifer Please were my favorites. Thanks for hosting this month's Mystery Box Challenge. ❤
Kelly, you nailed all those mystery box items. And the one with the garden tool holder, that was genius. I have to make some of those. They will make great gifts for sure.
In the 70s I had to inexpensively decorate one large bedroom for my three children, a girl and two boys. I found red burlap and made roman shades and added a red/white/blue fabric valance, which perfectly with the red white and blue shag room sized rug!
I loved your reaction to the "garden tools" LOL! I think the garden tools were more of a challenge then the challenge items! You did great, I love watching your channel ❤

I have heard of using canvas painters drop cloths for curtains, slip covers, etc.
Excellent Video as always Kelly.
Fantastic ideas
And then they began to show up on Pottery Barn at huge prices! You were before the times!!
The look on your face!!😂😂😂
May Jesus continue to bless you and your family

You could use burlap for curtain binders even if you don't do all burlap, but either would work! 🤷 ❤😂💖
