Totally agree. The passion can be lost within the wait time of saving and saving for that one project. I believe true music critics and lovers cannot deny passion. If you have the persistence to drop track after track after track eventually you will hit your "big single" or maybe a nice underground LP. But no one can deny the persistent passion and true music lovers can relate to the passion because they are music lovers. But it all depends on your true reason. What's the real reason you want to "make it"? Also what defines success? Is it the fact that you want to be rich and famous? Or is it that no matter what you will never stop making your music? No matter how crappy the equipment your using is. No matter how many crap songs you create. No matter how many people like or dislike your music. If you can jam to it. That's all that really matters, If your heart is really into the music. Not the " societal impression" of what music is. Which in this age is a bunch of meaningless crap deteriorating the minds of our generations. Music is OK. But good music can be felt. The passion can be heard especially by true music lovers. People don't respect style, people don't respect people. People respect passion because anyone e can relate to the feeling of love. And if you are dropping tracks YOUR passionate about then you will find fans and begin to create a name for yourself. The sad thing is that mainstream music is connected to the latest trends not to the pure love anymore. That's why you here crap on radio but you have to go local to find true messages, encouragement and even a reminder of the love for music. I say don't plan on one big project. Rather define what is "success" because there is an idea of success (money, fame, shoes, blah blah blah) and there is the truth. Define your true success. Then you don't worry about the "big project" the right people will hear you and invest in you because people love passion. No one can deny passion...but then again...who am I to say. These are just my thoughts. One love.
what's with the iron. ahah! getting the wrinkles out perhaps. If you don't have money essentially from what i've been told you need a contract.. i mean, people like david grohl and whatnot say go it alone, but they have cash.. i don't. :( and a budget for what might i ask?
