We’re planning to focus on creating longer content moving forward. Editing time has been the main limiting factor, but we’re glad to hear you’re interested in seeing more!

Are these early 1900s maps available online? Thanks

I’m sure, but you may have to dig. I would check some of the engineering libraries and go through the RTC/PSC contract documents. A fair of about of our archive are scans from the books themselves over the years and alumni access to resources, Let us know if there was anything in particular.

Vanshnookenraggen has a set of the 1912 Public Service Comission maps available. Although I've never heard of this 1905 plan mentioned, they do appear very similar.

@@dwrb321 Indeed, he does great work and content . But yes many of the routes from the 1905 RTC carried over into the PSC in 1907 and beyond. For example, Route 4 was also split between both companies, being a Seventh Avenue route. The Broadway BRT was built partly under Route 4 north of 42nd, while the IRT was built under Route 4 from 44th to the start of Varick. The difference with Route 5 was that the work was started pre-Dual Contracts and to BRT specifications even what would become the IRT section. Route 4, starting after 1913, was tailored to each company.
