It's become a staple of the series and it came from low expectations. It's an understatement to say the least that the series surpassed all possible expectations.

At the time, Square was on it's last legs and on the verge of bankruptcy, and they were at the point that they were essentially gambling the entire company's survival on Final Fantasy 1, hence the "Final" in "Final Fantasy". And Final Fantasy 1 performed so well, thanks in no small part to the musical contributions of Nobuo Uematsu, that it pretty much saved Square from ending up in the "corporate graveyard" so to speak. And now, Final Fantasy is one of the most iconic, well-known, and beloved RPG franchises in the world. ....Funny how things turn out sometimes, huh? I mean, just imagine if Final Fantasy 1 hadn't performed well enough to save Square from bankruptcy! The Final Fantasy franchise would pretty much have never come into existence at all....
I'm so stoked for this. Xenoblade 1 is favourite rpg of all time. We have a whole new cast combining the first 2 games worlds and characters. So interested to see where this goes.
I always like looking for the big time nerds, like the ones who freaked out for Front Mission, Chrono Cross, and Live A Live. The ones who knew what it was even were generally in shock.
It's funny because I've never played a Front Mission game, but I remember there was follow up a few years back from Square that wasn't well received. And somehow, I saw the mechs and thought "Front Mission?". It looks interesting and I love strategy games and mechs, so I'll probably grab both when they release.
I literally only know about Live A Live because of the boss battle theme being in theatrythm and ever since i discovered that song many years ago which was called megalomania (no not you sans undertale) I was introduced to Live A Live but never got the opportunity to play it since it never got released and now its 28 years later since the game released in japan and its finally releasing in the west and im just so glad. Theatrythm also introduced me to romancing saga because the battle theme against saruins minions from the ps2 remake of the first romancing saga was in it as well so those really old classic jrpgs really hit the nostalgia train.
Man i remember Xenoblade was soooo underrated on the WiiU just few years ago, hell most people don't even know what Xenoblade is, but look at now thanks to the Switch, Xenoblade series getting more and more fans, and i'm really happy to finally see Monolith Soft is getting recognized more!

I'll never forget the day I bought XC 2, not knowing a thing about it (I played XC1 right after.) These games really touched me and I can't imagine a life where I never played them.
You should check out the previous Xeno games like Xenogears and Xenosaga. I’d prefer installing a PS2 and PS1 Emulator for both Xenogears and Xenosaga if you’ve got a powerful PC.

Game looks like it's gonna be great. I don't have 1 or X, but I've played a bit of 2, so I'll probably get 4. Those reactions would be me if Etrian Odyssey 3 Untold or Etrian Odyssey 6 gets revealed. So, the party members look interesting. So we have: Flynn, Nia 2.0, Brunette Melia, Greatsword Captain Planet, Black Joker, and Mc Hammer.
A few people caught on with the art style, but so many(including myself) initially thought it was a Fire Emblem game by the MC's style of dress. A lot of people caught it with the English voice acting, which I find funny. Some caught it with the laser-bladed weapons and giant mech. But when everyone saw the MC running in a vast grassy field, there were no doubts.
i'm happy to be a fan of this amazing series an to watch all these great reactions but damn, if only etika was still here for this, sorry i had to bring it up cuz he's a big part of this to, just imagine his reaction to this reveal.
