No i did say I'd try and come back at least once a week. But I knew there'd be way less videos for several weeks. I stuck to what I said! I wish days were 15 hours longer. And I'd be able to squeeze everything in I want to do each day!
Filipino artists are often insanely good, not just from the present day but I was surprised to find out years later that many creators that I liked were actually from the Philippines, back then there was no internet like today or at all and you couldn't tell from the names.
@@RichardFriendartist They're like machines, putting the same level of effort in every panel, that level of stamina... that's something not many can handle without burning out fast. Burning out is probably the most common and dangerous aspect of working in comics, so many artists just leave as they get overwhelmed with the work rate and the payment which isn't equivalent to the effort. These days there's so many shortcuts, even AI, while it makes life easier for monthly comics it also loses the human aspect imo.
@@farben_ definitely. I think if you can get some ground at a company like DC or Marvel you can make good to great money. Sadly a lot of the best artists will end up doing more covers than stories. I love seeing sequelntials and honestly get a little bored with covers even from great artists. It's like a tesse from a story you'll never see through their eyes. So it almost is a dissappointment from the start! Especially if the book inside isn't at that same level.
@@RichardFriendartist To me the way I see it's a way to sell "posters", they're selling the cover and the comic is an extra, in the 90's this happened too, sometimes people would even rip out the cover and throw the comic away. These days that's mainly how the mainstream industry is surviving unless it's indie or crowdfunding which has a different market.
The art in this book is insane, the vol 1 cover instantly caught my attention from hundreds of other books on a shelf, the colours and rendering are top notch. I wished there was a black and white edition. Another suggestion for your review: Wonder Woman Historia vol 1, art by Phil Jimenez and colours by HiFi and Arif Prianto, this is mind blowing, I can assure you that.
wow...loving travis Charest I couldn't not end up impressed by him. I'll surely get some of his works. Those pages are really interesting. UPDATE: Got the first volume of Seven to Eternity...thank you Richard as always
Yeah I have every issue of Seven to Eternity in its ink version. The two artist editions and the French black and white hardcovers; theyre beautiful. Like you said its so much drawing, its crazy how much drawing in each panel he fits in. The sheer amount of figures, architecture, tech, animals, etc and he doesn't drop the ball on anything.
I got this a few weeks ago. A big, beautiful book. Still haven't read it though. My only complaint is that he didn't draw all the issues. But everybody needs a break sometimes.
When rich says he’s gonna take a few weeks off but shows back up the next week 😍😍😍 thanks for making time for some videos !

I am French and surprised of no vidéo in France about this Chef d’œuvre ! Thanks for your opinion
Very intricate work. His layouts are also on point!
Rich.. great open that book, glad you learned so much from me on patreon, ha.. bye'eeee..
haha
I loved Jerome's work on X-Force. He's so good!
this book was wild, the ending was unexpected, and the art was absolutely incredible.
I like the way you always say at the beginning of a video 'This will be a short one'....
Thanks for making this. Your Videos and Uploads are well meassured and always great!
He's Back Hey What is up Rich✌️😁 Pleasant surprise your back earlier than expected I recommend Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell📜🕊️
Matt Hollingsworth, one of the top colorists! His colors are amazing.
yeah for sure!

Totally agree. There's something about massive drawing chops, insane detail, dark imagery, and all around bad assery from Filipino artists.

I know he makes it look so natural too. He never seems to struggle or waver or vary in terms of a consistent look or quality !
You arr baaaaaack !
But don't call it a comeback! ;)
@@RichardFriendartist But I thought you will be back in 2 weeks .Anyways take care of your health Richard .
Looks really good!
Love listening to your stories but damn bro you signed off like 5 times...I'm just shaking my head and laughing...it's all good.

But are they going reprint the deluxe edition - hope so!! 🤔
I really don't know.
There are still copies on Amazon for $53.99. Cheaper than the $59.99 cover price. Hurry though.
Can you give me examples of Coipel's Bachallo faze work pls? As a huge Coipel fan and Bachallo admirer I'd like to see that.
french publisher Urban Comics does black/white editions at reasonable prices, if you already have the us edition to read that is a good companion.
Step back from RUclips my ass! Thanks Rich!
I did say I'd pop in once a week for everyone!
I see this and I think Kenneth Rocafort. :/
I have to stop watching these videos because it makes me spend money. Love them though.
