This song is not only a song, it's a masterpiece. It's the most beautiful song I've ever heard. Sleeping at Last doesn't only make songs, these songs are masterpieces. Every single one of them. And I can't listen to those songs without thinking how beautiful they are and how beautiful music is. These songs make me feel things.
I feel like this song is talking about Mercury and its relationship with the sun: - "I'll go anywhere you want me" (Mercury is closest to the sun so its gravity to it is extremely strong.) - "All of this mess is just an attempt to know the worth of my life", "made of precious metals" (Being so close to the sun, it is constantly being blasted by solar radiation stripping its outer layers away over the eons, reveals its inner core of metals.) - "I am dissonance" (Mercury has the most "oval" orbit of all the planets and the smallest tilt....its not in "harmony" with the other planets. Dissonance could also refer to the extreme difference in temperature of the part of the planet facing the sun versus the other side which is in shadow that gets very cold.) - The part from 01:54 to 02:27 could be talking about the oval orbit. Mercury is trying to get away and closing its eyes to the suns heat, light and gravity but eventually gets sucked back to it while it swings over the end of the oval back toward the sun.
Maybe its too much physics. But mercury is the only planet affect by strange patter of perihelium shift. That is one of the proves of general relativity. Every circle of mercury he shift a little bit, that is why it is in dissonance!

This song in my eyes is about a journey to find a purpose in life. ‘I talk in circles’ and other lines make it seem like the journey here is pointless at the beginning. They’re from a few towns away from where I grew up in Illinois. He makes some of the most beautiful music I’ve ever heard.

This song reminds me of this time last year when I was in a very dark place. I thought I had met my soul mate in 2019 but it was not meant to be. Then I heard this track for the first time and it really helped me but listening to it now has made me sad again.
so i first discovered this song in a ship video i think a couple years back and i fell in love with it immediately. even tho its mainly supposed to be about planets and sh*t, i analyze it as being about love. the lyrics, "no one can unring this bell, unsound this alarm, unbreak my heart new" make me thing of someone falling deeply in love with someone else and they can't get their love out of their head. other lyrics like, "i am dissonance waiting to be pulled into tune" and "i watch for signals, for a clue, how to feel different, how to feel new" and especially "somehow, all of this mess is just my attempt to know the worth of my life" indicate that this person has been through some heartbreak before so they may have a hard time opening up to the person they're in love with. even with their past baggage however, this person is willing to do anything for their new love which is shown in the lyrics, "ill go anywhere you want me". this person also knows that this love will be different which is shown in the lyrics, "i stepped aside
