I have myself found that I can tell if the car is doing a regen while driving simply because the radio stops working during, and turns to static thought there was something wrong with the radio when I first had the car but has since become a useful feature 😂
Cheers for your videos, watched most of them now after recently purchasing an Insignia. Already had to do the boost pipe and have done the DPF LED. My service vehicle soon has come back and now I think a glow plug needs changing. 🙄 Also notice you're only the other side of the Itchen bridge to me haha crazy small world! And also judging by your photo a fellow tarantula hobbyist! We have over 40 lol 😎
Glad my video helped you out. I used to have over 40 back home, lovely creatures. If you got just regular glow plugs they are fairly easy to do and test simple multimeter will do the job. And before removing spray them with wd40, I did that couple of times during the week and removed them Friday after work on warm engine, just be aware if they don't want to turn do not push as they can snap and then it will cost much more to sort it. Anyway Insignias are pain in the butt and Service Vehicle Soon can mean numerous of things. I got whole rear suspension to do but I will wait until I move.
@@patafterhours6172 thanks for the reply, yes they are indeed. We actually have started breeding them we love them so much. Thanks for the tips, I have pressure sensor ones annoyingly... I heard I can still test the resistance with them in situ. Although I used my diagnostics laptop which told me it was cylinder 2 so when I get some money spare I'll try change it. What's wrong with your suspension? Sounds like a big job, give me a shout if you need some help, I'd love to learn to do more to cars. If you decide to do the job whilst you're in Southampton. :)
Yes, you are correct. Light will be on and rpm will be around 1000. It does work as past year I am doing only short journeys 5 miles each way to work and does light up roughly every 3-4 weeks.
Hello, I know this is old video but only wanted to know where you bought your led light from, Googled and searched Amazon and eBay but couldn’t find any.
I know this is an old video at this stage but im confused, you are powering the led via the rear window demister button, so, how does the led come on when regeneration begins. Is the regeneration process somehow linked into the demister and does it come on automatically once regeneration has begun...
When regen is happening car will turn on demister bypassing the switch. So led is to give you indication that dpf is doing the regen. (demister light on the consol would be off)
I am not sure mate, I would expect that newer insignias should pop it on the dash saying"Continue driving, DPF regeneration or cleaning the exhaust filter" something like that.
I have an “oil pressure turn off engine” notification come up when I start my car, I have taken it to many mechanics but don’t know how to get rid of it, any ideas?
As I am the owner of mk1, I am not sure how does it work with newer models I was thinking they have a communicate popping up that you need to keep driving as the exhaust filter is full. I am driving as usual with mine, if LED comes on I am just trying to drive on 3 gear and keep revs over 2k till the light is gone.
Well if you want to know when your car is doing the regen it would indicate it. Worth to give it a read through. I am using it to make sure I am not turning the car off when is during the regen.
It does unless it starts when you just parked 😂 it is just a gadget, someone will find it handy as I did. Some ppl will have a different opinions and we are all entitled to have it. 👍
Just done it after watching your video Thanks for info.

If I understand, when the cars start to regenerate the DPF (Diesel Partikel Filtre) during a ride, the led will illuminate.

Great video mate but how did you connect the wires to the pins
Hello, I know this is old video but only wanted to know where you bought your led light from, Googled and searched Amazon and eBay but couldn’t find any.
I did get them of eBay that time mate

@@patafterhours6172is this the same on the facelift Insignia? Mine is a 2015
How do you get the wires to stay in?
I have a 68 plate 2.0D Insignia estate, do I follow the same procedure or has anything changed ?
I am not sure mate, I would expect that newer insignias should pop it on the dash saying"Continue driving, DPF regeneration or cleaning the exhaust filter" something like that.
My 2011 has just had the Dpf keep driving..
20mins later gone off, would I gain anything by fitting the LED?
Cheers

Change the seal of the oil pump that is placed in the oil sump my friend
How's your engine now? I've heard when the oil pickup seal goes it can cause the whole engine to seize?!
Oil pressure sensor?
Oil pump pick up seal is failing. You will destroy your engine if you don't get it fixed
What size is your led warning light is it 8mm or 12mm, and do you have a link please
If I remember it wad 5mm but if I would do it again I will get 3mm.
Hi new to insignias just got a 15 plate after I install this light what do I need to do when it’s in regen I do short journeys 15 minutes or so

@@patafterhours6172 Cheers ok I understand
Great video!
Do you just push the wires into the clip?
Did you tin the wire or is it single core?
Does the led have a resistor?
Yes indeed, just push them in and the clip the connector back where it was
@@patafterhours6172 did the led have a resistor?
@@martinsutherland9151 hi, yes led I installed had an resistor it was a pre wired set out of eBay :)

Dont you just get the wing mirror heater coming on when it regens?
I can just smell a Regen, and see smoke coming out the front lol it stinks!

Don’t bother waste of money and time
It took 4 mins and probably cost about 80 pence ffs, enjoy turning yours off and dumping diesel in your sump
