Fishing for char in Greenland is spectacular in every way. The scenery is fantastic, the fishing is amazing - and for some reason the chars react agressive on skating foam-flies.
Our friends from Getaway Tours describes this about the best fly for that type of fishing: "When we can get the chars to take a skated foam fly on the surface we don’t fish anything else!"
Hook: Ahrex NS122 size 4-6 or similar
Thread: Matching the color of the foam
Body: Flash chenille
Foam: Closed Cell foam, 2 x 2mm or 1 x 3mm
Tail: Marabou, fox - or a bit of both

I am heading to Greenland this summer and will be tying up quite a few of these flies. I see the thickness of the foam but I was wondering if you could tell me how wide you cut the foam for each fly? Thank you
