What's kind of scary is this idea works REALLY WELL with the new canon of Next Generation. Since we don't know what happened.
I imagine she got heartbroken that her friends died so she decided to make sure friendship couldn't exist between the tribes to "protect" them from the hurt of losing someone.
The first well developed G5 fan canon im aware of and i liiiike it a LOT two hoofs up

My interpretation is that her friends have been so long gone she’s been forgetting them and friendship in general and with her not having that in her life it’s making her like nightmare moon. So before she transforms completely and does something she regrets she banishes herself to the moon.

Would this corruption be caused by her friends dying or being forgotten or something?? Or maybe even her own memories starting to falter when she tries to remember them??? 👀
I’m guessing they died cause last time we saw them they looked like they were getting significantly older while twilight just got taller
I had assumed a fair few centuries had elapsed and she's starting to not even remember there faces.

In short, basically, Twilight started to get consumed by the grief, and though she tried to fight it at the start, she was unable to stop the overwhelming grief from fuelling her magic and corrupting her. In the end she thought friendship (and by extention magic) was the source of her grief, and separating the tribes.
I suggest that you look the post cause it explains better than I can, I'm just trying to give you a resume of what's there.
It's kind of feel strange for me considering that Kimiko Glenn who sings this song is also voicing Izzy Moonbow from MLP Next Generation😐. Still it's great animatic👍
I love kimiko and i was surprised cuz i didn't think that she would have a beautiful strong singing voice

And so the whole story has come full circle, from Luna in the prologue of episode 1 to Twilight at the end of her rule. I’m surprised she would be strong enough to holdout this long, being the last living member. For all we know Celestia and Luna gave up their immortality and are also dead by now 😢. (Personally I don’t think it would ever end this dark)
My guess as to what happened to Twilight, her friends, and Equestria as a whole is that as Twilight’s friends died, she slowly lost control of power. As she lost each friend she got depressed and once all of them passed, she lost her way and couldn’t protect Equestria anymore. I’m sure there’s a way to keep the harmony in check without her friends, but since she was grieving so much she just couldn’t. And that made the ponies panic and divide themselves.
But my one question… if there was fear and hatred for each other, why didn’t the Windigos take over? Was it because the hatred was from fear and it’s mainly fear taking place?
From what I've heard, the wendigos fed off of conflict, but the divided ponies weren't fighting so there was no conflict. It was just fear and separation. You can't fight something you're far away from. I suggest looking at Sawtooth Waves videos, as he has some interesting theories.

Like I said, I heard that the Wendigos feed off conflict, not hatred. It was the fighting they fed off of.

This is the saddest and most beautiful thing I've ever seen in the MLP community. I've never liked dwelling on the subject of Twilight outliving her friends, but this... this was worth watching. The emotion, the setting, the anatomy, everything was perfect. And I especially loved that beautiful flying animation. You've earned a new Subscriber.

I actually imagined Celestia singing "Nothing Good" whenever I hear that song, so you're not the only.one imagining MLP with Centaurworld songs haha (And her singing about Mirror Sombra from the comics or something, not perfect, but thats how my head worked lol)
Man, if nightmare Twillie shows up at g5 i will be so hyped.
In G5 she would succumb to the thought that she failed in her reign, she would lose her friends for immortality and then she couldn't take it anymore, a princess of friendship without friends is a terrible fate.
After she's defeated so many villains, her eventually becoming one is an idea too good to just dwell on, she will be in the shoes of a villain and the mane 5 could bring her back like they did with Luna, G5 why do you make us suffer so much, I don't want tiktok references

My mind: "What if this is what happened since Alicorns live way longer than other ponies?"
What if Twi thought that the only way to reunite with her friends was to rid the entire world of magic including herself which could be enabling her immortality. In the spur of that moment she collects it all inside her body sort of like Tirek did, but because energy can't be destroyed get corrupted by her anguish and grief in realizing how she can never truly be with them again and decides the world would be better off without magic. Maybe also because she doesn't and or can't control the magic of the entire world of Equestria, she contains each kind into the separate crystals.
(Just a little thought and I really enjoyed this animatic!😳)
this song always hits me right in the feels, but reapplying this song to twilight losing her friends overtime just packs an extra punch

twilight, as an alicorn, can live much longer than her friends. after decades without them, loneliness takes over and so does midnight sparkle. Knowing she was a danger to all the other ponies, she put her magic into 3 gems and banished herself to the moon forever.

This might be an actual possibility. Cause we know the main 6 are apart of G5 so we can assume that everything that happened in G4 is past history for G5. I really hope they give us some clues as to WTF happened past the end of G4 to lead to the beginning of G5.

@@awesomewolf6623 sorry for a late reply - gosh not really! this is only the second animatic ive ever done so im completely new to this. i think having a clear idea from the outset definitely helps in executing it, but that might just be for me, im sure some people like to make it up as they go. just find whatever works best for you.

Twilight as Horse= Main characters. Start out kinda mean with not a lot of friends but later gains friends. Goes through a physical transformation halfway through the series. Starts off as a normal horse, gains a horn and her canon hair at the midpoint and becomes her alicorn design during "Who is She". Has the Element of Magic with her
Spike as Rider= Someone Twilight is close with. Possibly around Rider's age.
Pinkie as Durpleton= Weird as fuck. Says a bunch of random vaguely threatening phrases.
Fluttershy as Glendale= Anxious. Can talk really fast. Has maybe killed a man before
Rarity as Zulius= Literally the same exact character
Rainbow Dash as Ched= Cocky. Egotistical. Can be kinda mean sometimes
Applejack as Wammawink= Good leader. Somewhat motherly. Has an immense amount of trauma
Granny Smith as Waterbaby= Mentor to Applejack/Wammawink. Wise. Also a massive troll. Has the Element of Generosity
Starswirl as The Woman= Gruff and unsympathetic. From a forgotten time. Connected to a villain made of black stuff.
Celestia and Luna as The Tree Shamans= Old and seemingly all powerful. Made some questionable decisions. Have the Element of Kindness
Quibble Pants as the Beartaur= Looks like a Redditor. Has nerd rage moments
Diamond Dogs as The Moletaurs= Live underground. Have prison cells. Sapphire Shores is the Mole Shaman because they sound and somewhat act similar. Have the Element of Laughter
Suri Polomare as Splendib= Rarity's rival. Sabatoges people. Has the Spa Twins as The Glitter Cats.
Cozy Glow as Johnny Teatime= Deceptively cute. Has the Element of Honesty
Coloratura as Sunfish Merguy= Follows the head canon of Rara being a type of sea creature. AJ deserves a fish GF even if they don't end up together. Autumn Blaze is her girlfriend that I forgot the name of because I think it would be funny
Cadence as the Whale Shaman= Motherly. Deals with the emotions of others. Has the Element of Loyalty
Stygian/The Pony of Shadows as the Nowhere King= Has a theme of darkness. Somewhat of an eldritch horror. Has history with Starswirl
The Elements of Harmony= Mysterious artifacts.
