@andrewwheeler8591 I love the flamin' hot and roast beef flavours (was never a huge fan of pickled onion, although I don't hate them), but I do miss the giant prawn flavour they did in the 80s...
Roast beef were my favourite, I used to get through loads of them. I've still got some monster munch reflectors that were on my BMX when I was a kid. Treacle or salad cream sarnies and a packet of RB monster munch, yum yum.
🤣Same here..the roast beef ones were always in my school bag for my break along with a huge round wagon wheel that my mum would put in lol...everything was bigger then too...
I can't believe that I know this advert word for word, voice over and sound effects. This is so weird considering i was born in 1984 and I havn't seen the advert since it was on T.V. Its also the same with milky way advert (red car vs blue car one) It's amazing what sticks in a child's mind and it doesn't leave them for the rest of their lives!!
Me too..I remember my mum always put a pack of the beef flavour ones in my school bag for break at primary school in the early 80's...and im sure they were double the size back then! Shed put one of those ..and apple and a big golden wrapper wagon wheel lol..have a nice weekend
im sure a few years ago they did ones that turned your tounge blue and vanilla ones.i had em all the time best crisps ever.they should still do the profiles on the back
I seem to recognise all the commercials from the 80s that had animated elements, puppets, or were about sweets/crisps/chocolates. But show me an 80s commercial that was advertising anything else (e.g. supermarkets, car dealerships hardware products etc) and I'd draw a blank 😆. Probably cos i was a child in the 80s, so i must've averted my attention whenever "boring" commercials came on, lol!
I do !!!! And prawn cocktail crisps were and still are my favourite flavour....they have started making that flavour with quavors now but i think its limited addition.....and the prawcocktail skips that melt on your tongue...best flavour ever! lol👌😁
I so remember this add, can't remember last time Smiths have had an advertising campaign, haven't seen a monster munch or quavers add in a very long time
i just read in the paper that they were bringing these ads back so i had to check out the original one its fab i remember when they gave away the clips to put on the spokes of ur bike me and my sis had loads of them think i still have them somewhere i love pickled onion the best
Have you noticed the ones that are out now are not only smaller, but the beef ones are the wrong shape. The foot shape was originally used for the pickled onion flavour, while the beef ones were represented by the long-necked monster shape. AND they used to cost about 7p - now pubs are charging 75p. Still, the beef ones taste great with a pickled egg in with them. Go on, try it.
mate the same thing happened to me today cue a conversation at work about this advert! Hey presto I'm here... Beef flavour I had by the way the packet is too cool...my recommendation is wash it down with a wispa class!
I always thought these monsters should have gotten their own TV show. Looking back, I'm glad they were limited to the advert. Still charming though. :)
It's always the fattest, most blubbery monster of them all that ends up stealing all the Monster Munch at the end. If they had spent the night in _Haunted Wood_ with a bag of lettuce and other vegetables then the night would've passed without incident, unless a monstrous giant rabbit turned up.
"So it was all a big trick!........ Wasn't it??" Aww loved this ad when I was a kid! Monster Munch were frickin' awesome crisps too!
♥
ha ha I rememebr always being given them for my break at infant school in the eraly 80s..the beef flavour ones...
@@RetroReminiscing
I know there so good x
Still are! 😊

Probably the greatest crisp advert of all time.
Back in the days when there was tons of awesome adverts.
Are You Sonic X Fiona Fox?
@@user-iz2gk9fq9e Yes I am a fan of that ship, why you ask?
My Childhood Growing up in the 1980s ,Long live Monster Munch 🤣🤣🤣❤️
The Roast Beef flavour was so much better back in those days. The pickled onion still tastes the same.
I loved Roast Beef and still eat it but I can vaguely remember the original taste. I guess the new one is a bit more tomatoey.
You took the words right out of my mouth. It originally had more of a steak seasoning taste.
I wish they would change it back to the original flavour before I forget what it was like
All tasted better back then. Even Space Raiders did
WoW that's a blast from the past I'm glad I saw this.
Thank you very much for sharing. :^)
One of the best snacks we've ever experienced from the UK.
And a pop culture icon. :^)
1986! I remeber this like yesterday, my god how time flies!!!
i remember when they were 8p per pack... i am old... that is all
Loved Monster Munch in my schooldays
They were so good then, back when Smith's owned and made them, before Walkers bought most of em out and ruined all the awesome original crisps.
the old monster munch adverts I really miss those
wish they'dbring back saucy tomato. They were the best! I was so young when they were about and used to get them as a treat. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK! !
Glad MM is back! Bring back STORY TELLER! Magazine & cassette collection from the 80's!
Roast beef monster munch were the best crisps ever. The Pickled onion ones always hurt my mouth.
Roast beef is banging
Bring back these proper monsters and proper sized crips!

Best advert EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a great decade the 80s were music films no social media playing all summer long with your mates on the bmx
Eating pickled onions in 2016. Man these guys have stood the test of time.
I just finished a pack XD
2019 but they don’t taste the same ☹️
🤣🤣🤣true
Just crushed a bag
@@vintage1950 Just like Skips, Quavers and McCoys. None of them taste as good as back in the 80s
Does anyone remeber Bovril flavoured crisp? The best crisp ever.
This is quite scary - the ending is really spooky...oooooh! Wonderful memories though - thanks for this!
It's the real ghost's echoing cackle that makes it that much more frightening.
Can't beat them on a crisp sandwich.
I love Monster Munch sandwiches too, especially Pickled Onion flavour. Have you tried dipping them in curry Pot Noodle?
Joanne Gray - Roast beef ones were the best in a sandwich
Jack The Film Fanatic im with joanne, thats not eew.

Whoah, another awesome old advert! TY to whoever put this up! Pickled onion Monster Munch rule! :D
love the springy noise wen his hairs stand uo lol
Mental what you remember when you see it again....I knew the "wasn't it....?" bit was coming even after like 25 years!!!
Friday evening treat when my mum did the big shop.
A new earliest memory so it seems.
No way is this 1986, I was born in 1984 and I remember this as a kid clearly!
It was made by smiths crisps (1977-1995, UK) and later walkers (lays in usa) from (1995-present, UK) both uk companies
Best crisps ever made, love the advert to! =D
haha! I've got a fluffy toy of the blue monster, my sis had the pink one with the long neck! :D
Takes me right back to my childhood! Don't honestly remember vanilla flavour though.
Me too..I remember my mum always put a pack of the beef flavour ones in my school bag for break at primary school in the early 80's...and im sure they were double the size back then! Shed put one of those ..and apple and a big golden wrapper wagon wheel lol..have a nice weekend
Ahhh Sizzling Bacon was the 3rd flavour here ....
Great retro upload! Sonique 😁

Aww, cute ad.
I've got a certificate from an adventure holiday for eating pickled onion Monster Munch and mint sauce sandwiches for a week. I am honoured.
yes & they are awesome!
Remember that ad vividly 😁
this reminds me when my father left me and my mother died 2 years later LOL (laughing out loud)
im sure a few years ago they did ones that turned your tounge blue and vanilla ones.i had em all the time best crisps ever.they should still do the profiles on the back

Munch at school.I am now an 18stone

Why isn't this sold in USA, I can't wait to back to England..
Oh my gosh, I've never heard of these! UK only? They're so adorable!
I just found the snack at 7 eleven and purchased a small bag of pickled onion flavor. SOOOOO FREAKIN GOOD!!!!
I've never seen this advert, but it made me laugh!
I used to have the pink monster glove puppet!
Damn,wish I'd kept it, I bet it's worth a bomb on E-bay now!
and does anyone remember prawn cocktail flavour??? they were lush!!!
I do !!!! And prawn cocktail crisps were and still are my favourite flavour....they have started making that flavour with quavors now but i think its limited addition.....and the prawcocktail skips that melt on your tongue...best flavour ever! lol👌😁
The beef ones are absolutely disgusting now. They used to taste like beef Space Raiders do now.
I used to love the Pickled Onion flavour. I can see though that I'm not the only one.
very excited when these came out - but never as horrifying as expected
monster munch were epic
That's when Monster Munch WERE Monster Munch!!! They're nowhere near as good now :-(
Eating a packet of beef flavour now. They take me back to being a child. I love pickled onion then beef. Not tried the flaming hot yet though.
I love flamin hot
WOW i remember this ad!
Just ate a bag of beef that's what brought me here.
I so remember this add, can't remember last time Smiths have had an advertising campaign, haven't seen a monster munch or quavers add in a very long time
Yes they do! They're great! Damn, forgot to get some from tescos!
Back in the good old days before Walkers ruined the snack. (Thankfully they've reverted back to the good old original Smiths recipe.)
i just read in the paper that they were bringing these ads back so i had to check out the original one its fab i remember when they gave away the clips to put on the spokes of ur bike me and my sis had loads of them think i still have them somewhere i love pickled onion the best
I luv all the flavours
smell and taste of this stuff makes me heave
They tasted much better in the 80s like most of my childhood snacks.
I think it was smokey bacon.
Nom nom nom
I like monster munch
Now I guess it’s “pounds can’t buy a smaller snack”
Have you noticed the ones that are out now are not only smaller, but the beef ones are the wrong shape. Yea love them I stil eat monster munch crisps now there not as big as they used to be but stil love em especially the beef ones😅
Six in a bunch Monster Munch 😊
The Monsters must have been Scrapped Mcdonaldland Characters.
There was a smokey bacon at one point. I think the shapes for that one were spider webs.
It's always the fattest, most blubbery monster of them all that ends up stealing all the Monster Munch at the end. If they had spent the night in _Haunted Wood_ with a bag of lettuce and other vegetables then the night would've passed without incident, unless a monstrous giant rabbit turned up.
@mutdog The mall at darling harbour Sydney has an English goodies shop,p/o monster munch, salt viniger hula hoops, scampi fries etc
i remember break time at primary school - club buscuit and pickled onion monster munch... back in the day....
