    I literally shed a tear with that stuck dismount.

    I also love that it looked almost choreographed to tap her foot on the end of the beam as the bell went off--even more elegance to this routine!

      I think she's using it as a tool to see where's the end of the beam is for her dismount.

    Her switch ring leap is AMAZING. Her head goes all the way back, front leg above horizontal

    • @user-do2ht2qk9z
      @user-do2ht2qk9z 4 года назад +3

      And still not even close to ring position and leg touching head. So it's a deduction. But overall not a bad element from her

    • @ST6559
      @ST6559 3 года назад +5

      @@user-do2ht2qk9z back leg touching the head is not one of the requirements for that element. Back foot should crown the head, not touching it. The only deduction on her switch ring is her back foot at shoulder level.
      Her front leg is above horizontal, her head release and upper back arch were perfect, and her ring position is almost excellent except the thing I mentioned earlier.

    That's the old Kyla we know and love. Where were you hiding? Easily the best executed beam of the day. I highly doubt that this will erase her mistakes and stake her claim to a spot at Worlds, but at least we know that she is still capable when she gets her act together.

    • @pct1841
      @pct1841 9 лет назад +2

      withlove312 Her bars were great until the dismount. I think she's a 50/50 chance if she fixes up that dismount.

    • @lisas7948
      @lisas7948 9 лет назад +6

      I think she is much needed in any team event, because I have no doubt she will execute the bar routine flawlessly (just the dismount needs to be put on feet).
      Kyla is so consistent after she is able to hit it in competition. Perhaps because of her height, upgrades need more time? But I never doubted her despite the mistakes, and never will!

    • @withlove312
      @withlove312 9 лет назад +4

      Lisa S Hmm, I think you're being optimistic. Had this been last year, I would be inclined to agree, but the situation is different now. Where could Kyla contribute exactly that someone better can't? For a steady utility player they have Maggie Nichols. For beam they have Aly, Gabby and Simone or even Alyssa Baumann. Bars has Gabby, Madison Kocian, and Bailie. Floor has Simone, Bailie, Aly, Mykayla or Maggie or Gabby. Vault has Simone, Maggie, Mykayla and Gabby.
      So Kyla literally has nothing to offer the team at this point. Her low difficulty, high execution and consistency strategy has served her well these past three years. Now that things are gearing up for Rio, she's being lost in the shuffle, especially now that she can't even offer consistency anymore.

    • @lisas7948
      @lisas7948 9 лет назад

      withlove312 For Rio, she has the package of both beam and bars unlike Kocian and Baumann. And since there are only 5 spots, isn't she critical? Like, Keys Gabby and ___ would have to do bars. Kocain can only do bars, and well...her beam isn't as good as many of the other competitors.

    • @withlove312
      @withlove312 9 лет назад

      Lisa S I was talking about Glasgow, I said that in my original post. By Rio, I don't what will happen. She'll have even more competition, I know that much. But like I said, Glasgow is most likely out of the question unless one of the girls gets injured.

    YES!!! Classic Kyla. Always pulling through on beam, literally always. Never a fall. And was beautiful here :')

    • @liceous

      The U.S. reallt needs a consistent beam worker for Rio now that Aly/Maggie/Gabby could hardly break 14.5 at worlds

    • @rdg___
      @rdg___ 8 лет назад

      +liceous Agreed. I think beam will be a key event for selection next year. Though, neither Aly or Gabby gave their best routines and I think they can both do better. But if not, there are great beam workers like Ragan and Norah coming up and if someone slips up I could seem them sliding in. The field is so deep it's hard to predict though!

    • @lisas7948
      @lisas7948 8 лет назад +1

      Once Kyla hits bars, it's sealed. We need consistent bar and beam combo workers. Kyla is the one that comes to mind.

      @@jameswhitelaw7363 I love kyla so so much but I think her and her coaches both knew she wasn't going to make the olympic team. She was chosen in 2012 because of her high excecution scores and her beam and bar scores, as well as being a good contender for AA. But over the months of 2015 she has fallen a few times, and her difficulty scores just weren't high enough. They also had beam and bars workers that scored higher than she did. It was sad, I really hoped for and mckayla maroney would make another olympics :(.

    I think Kyla's coaches should make the right decision which IMO would be to not have her do the AA but specialize on bars and beam. I know Kyla wants to be an AA gymnast but she has to be clever now and adapt to the situation. If she upgrades both her bars and beam like right now she still has enough time to get consistent and if her D scores are a little higher (and it really doesn't take all that much,va couple of elements) she would still benefit the team on these two events and maybe qualify and possibly medal at Rio EFs for UB and BB. I think this is her only real chance. the could still let her train floor so she could fill in someone's spot at the Rio Olympics if need be (as was the case in London). I think this is the only thing that will work and I pray to God that Martha talks to her and her coaches about that.

    I believe if Kyla can pull it together for selection camp and nails all of her bar and beam routine she will be chosen for worlds. I think this is a fluke. I mean last year she was injured for most of the year and she didn't really have time to rest. hopefully in the next 2 months she can rest and and focus on improving her beam and bars.

  • @liceous

    She should be a beam/bars specialist and go to rio instead of Madison kocian
