I have always loved music and have liked many singers and musicians. But I , like you, love Angelina. How can you not. Simply beyond amazing. I wish I could be one of her body guards, she is an absolute treasure to the World and needs protected. Unfortunately, greatness attracts unbalanced radicals i.e. John Lennon. Praying she stays safe and protected.
How many of you here like Angelina’s version better than the original?
God I love Angelina Jordan. Never has a performer brought me to to tears consistently. If the music does not do it, her wave and goodbye does me in. Great commentary and I to worry that the music industry might hurt her spirit but I have faith. Great commentary as usual. Just start the AJ video's with 10's. Her covers take the original performer of my playlist for AJ's version.

I had been listening to Angelina Jordan for quite some time before I heard this cover (I wasn't at the time familiar with Lana Del Rey), and even knowing the talent of Angelina, the beginning notes of this song almost stopped my 64-year-old heart. Lol. (Then I forgave the little angel and listened to the whole thing about a dozen times non-stop before I went and discovered just how talented Ms. Del Rey is herself. Makes sense though...Angelina only seems to "cover" legends, or those who are destined to be legends.)

When Angelina sings, anyone listening just falls into her music.
It's so hard to say which Angelina songs are our favorites because they are all tremendous. But, Born To Die has to be right up there near the top. As time goes by she will be singularly responsible for music to start reverting back "to music" again. In some cases, I know it sounds crazy, she can sell you on a song "one note" into it! Miss Cupid has a ton of arrows and they are pointed straight at our hearts when she sings to us.

Hi. There are several points about Angelina that I would like you to address (I am a musical composer). I tell you from my point of view and why they make this teenager (perhaps) the best singer of all time. 1) Plasticity. She can "imitate" any singer with her voice, imitating means having the ability to "absorb" from said singer colors, textures, musical smells, feelings, that's why I say that Freddie Mercury could only be Freddie Mercury but not Amy's textures Whinehuse or Elvis Presley and so vice versa. There is no singer of today, famous (Adele, etc) or in musical growth who has this capacity 2) humility. Absolutely all the singers at this moment personify the music, they create a show of everything they do, instead Angelina seems like a teenager who is continuously learning, practicing. How long is she going to practice? I don't know ... when she presents videos on RUclips and fans or haters admire or criticize they don't understand that she is only practicing, she is a girl who practices music, nothing more than that. I am impressed that she also practices when she is on stage, and it seems that she only does performances until now to give herself "little tastes" like going to AGT: SHE JUST WANTED TO SING HER IDOL Simon Cowell (AS SHE SAID IT) SING QUINCY JONES OR SING WITH THE NORWEGIAN BAND TO SHOW THE POWER THAT HIS SONG HAS (LITTLE LIKES THAT THIS GIRL GIVES HIMSELF IN LIFE) 3) There is something that very few Reactors have mentioned: she is continuously playing (if she is not the reincarnation of Elvis Presley I do not know what it is) I explain: at the moment she connects with some musicians of the orchestra and exchanges gestures, she often looks at the camera intently because she knows that someone is looking at her from this side, other times she is so possessed in the narration of the song that it is difficult for her to return to reality, it remains as in a strange state of regression 4) she is a musical teacher, she makes small corrections to the original musicians, without changing her style or original narration and she does it with n much respect. Angelina Jordan has an ongoing obsession with making music for all ages. NEVER SAW SOMETHING LIKE THIS, a musician (in this case sings an author) who is obsessed with the fact that music stops being fragmented into styles. How to achieve this? making the important thing is the dimensionality of the song, a singer whose purpose is to teach that singing is not a gymnastics, singing is not an Olympic vocal chord tournament, music is not a stage show: MUSIC IS SIMPLY ONE BEAUTIFUL SONG TO SHARE. GREETINGS TO THE COMMUNITY (I write this not as a fan but as a lover of good music). By the way, she's 14 years old
Angelina Jordan, What A Difference A Day Makes, she was 8 and shows so much emotion singing this, live , in front of hundreds(?, a thousand ??) people. Just , almost , unbelievable.
when I close my eyes and listen she transcends me to another time. she does covers like know other artist. like reincarnation, absolutely. when she does covers of artists that are on the other side, they live through her. I think it's Angelina's bassy tones. I can't think of any singer who can sing those deep bassy tones like her. I believe it is possible to hate the song "Loving You" by Minnie Riperton then hear Angelina sing it in her bassy tones and exclaim they love that song

Words fail when trying to describe the greatness of Angelina. You don't just see the greatness or hear the greatness, you FEEL the greatness. She is wholly unique, and a true gift to the world.
Many thanks to Lana Del Rey for writing this excellent song. As usual, Angelina doesn't cover a song, she completes it. Angelina Jordan Astar IS music and the entire world, every single person, needs to listen to this once in a lifetime musical artist. When I listen to Angelina, she takes me places unimagined, most likely the same world she has always said she visits when she sings. It's MAGIC.

Give me any Lana Del Rey song and I would rather hear Angelina perform it. She just captures and expresses emotion at such a deep level that she just adds that extra relatability and reality to the song. I love the sound of both artists, but if I compare the two, Angelina seems to have more depth to the sound.

Quality doesn't entitle you to anything and wont gurantee success on its own. I think pop culture in many mays ways works like a hoard of sheep. Meaning once she reaches a critical mass of followers it will automatically draw in a lot more. And I believe she will hook enough core fans over time to reach that tipping point.

The choice of much of modern society to favor convenience, disposability, and the material over authentic, excellent, and the spiritual is a terrible trend. I am extremely glad that some artists (like AJ) stand opposed to this trajectory. As you said, such artists respect the specialness and timelessness of what they can do and seek it out. I have seen your reaction to this song several times, you are an example of a true music lover, feeling, understanding, objectivity, Lana del Rey and Angelina are two great music prodigies, Angie respectfully copy the song, she did not want to give him any "Extra painting" as she usually does on covers, she always makes improvements in improvement but in this case she leaves it immaculate (I suppose because she considered it impossible to improve this work of art). Very few realize what Angie is doing in music, she is boycotting the industrial system of music, making it implode with humility and love. Let's hope that the circus show and the lovers of vocal gymnastics are far from this great gift of God.

Haha, I fully understand the torn allegience, because Lana del Rey is a great artist. And this is her song, no one can take that away from her. But then again, this is Angelina Jordan, so it is OK to admit that the SINGING is actually better with Angelina at the mike. Because if you listen carefully, side by side or one after the other, it really is. With the richness of her voice and emotional investment, Angelina adds several layers to this song.
