Good stuff. You can never start too early for planning in these contests. When I was competing, I'd start thinking about the next years contest as soon as the contest season was done.
Made it to the District Contest. Finished Second. WOO! Second Place is my JAM. They should rename it "The Joe Shaw Award for First Place Losers!" #NextYear
Second place is the JAM. There's a reason why I highlight my 2nd place trophy in my videos instead of my championship trophy.....but all joking aside, that's great, Joe. When we had talked before about your contest season, you didn't think you'd get passed division. So the fact that you placed 2nd in your district shows the work you put in and the value you provided. Looking forward to your next season.
Hey Shashank, the video that I posted of my semi-final winning speech is actually the same speech that was given in my district. There wouldn't bee much difference between the two if any difference at all. You can see the semifinal speech here: ruclips.net/video/BmxDqz0qNXM/видео.html
@@publicspeakingmentor Aaron I've watched it already 😊, It is one of fav speeches. But I've a doubt, can we give same speeches in 2 rounds in the same year?
With the video contests, it's a bit different; however, when in person the semifinals are held 1-2 days before the finals at the Toastmasters International Convention.
Great advice regarding second speech prep. Definitely internalizing these videos for next year’s competition.💯😁

I truly feel this pain right now! Thanks for all the tips Aaron :)
My pleasure, Kyle. Hopefully you're at ease now.
