Awesome video man. Just received my Lion Knights Castle yesterday and waiting for the weekend to finally open up the box and start building 😁 This is my first Lego set in over 30 years and I am 42! Been having an itch to get back into Lego's for quite some time now. As soon as this set caught my eyes, I knew I had to have it. Even my wife supported me in the purchase. Still remember my young years and the countless hours spent playing with my Lego sets, some of which consisted of knights and remember always wanting a castle set. Once I grew older and lost some interest in Lego's, all of my sets were handed down to my nephews which they dearly enjoyed playing with. One exception, was the 1989 Black Seas Barracuda which was stowed away in the back of my closet and is ready for a rebuild. Looking forward to the nostalgic build.
As someone who owns the Kings Castle, I might consider picking this up because I really value the building experience in sets! I still wonder why Axidroid is in this set.
Never understand why people explain there are 6 rooms in the house... the house has 3 rooms. The toy castle is in the bedroom, the harpsichord is in the dining hall and the kitchen is across the room from the mill. When you close the building its all the same floor... not 6 seperate rooms
i love how its not a "dollhouse" style build --- what i mean is that the characters can get anywhere in it by climbing stairs / ladders / etc. when it is closed fully, where in other builds you have to pretend they magically got up a level
I own this one as well as the black falcon mountain fortress. What I don't like about the LK castle is that it's very crammed and half-scale. If you put it next to the blacksmith's set you''ll notice that right away.
I have this set and i loved to build it! I spent several amazing hours full of fun. 10/10 i agree about the ramp and the King, maybe i would give 9.8 same as you mate.
When I built the balcony wall, sliding away to reveal that golden frog when you close down this segment, I just had to clap my hands. Might be the most ingenious technique I've seen.
Worth for sure. Love that set. This set got soul, love was put into it. Congrats to designers! U nailed it guys. I have all castle sets from 90s and this is actually very nice mix of old ways with new ingenious technics.
I bought one when it was released to early access. I bought a second one as soon as the limit was increased to two in Canada. A week later, LEGO raised its online purchase limit to five... and if I had the money, I'd buy three more. I'm planning a huge Castle MOC... but I have a UCS Landspeeder and Optimus Prime to build first.
I would really like to see the minifigure parts from this set on Pick-a-Brick Online... I would love to get proper black helmets for my recently-built Black Falcons Army, and assemble a Lion Knights Army to go along with them.
@@bz6046 Thanks for mentioning that. Yeah, I found the black helmets last week and ordered a bunch. I couldn't find the Lion Knights minifig parts though... I might have another look now.
My absolute favorite part of this set is the “royal turd” as I’ve dubbed it. I thought it was weird how they used a brown frog & then while building the toilet I was like “oh…OH!” 😂
Very hype about this set as the old castles were something I really wanted as a kid but couldn't have. Weird that they didn't put in the king though. I suppose the queen is ruling alone right now.
I think it was supposed to go for 350$ but due to the price increase in August/September they didn't bother change it after 1 month and just went with 400$ instead.
I am actually building it right now as I got it for Christmas, I am halfway through the build having completed the first part and I can’t wait to build the rest
In a followup BrickLink/Lego set, the king was abducted. "The Black Falcon used to be a powerful baron of the Old Kingdom. After the Lion Knights took over the realm, the arrangement was made for Black Falcon's daughter, Kunegunde, to marry the king. However, when the baron fell in a joust, these plans came to naught and the king married another baroness. But Kunegunde decided to take matters in her own hands... A few years ago, together with her younger sister, who was a royal falconer, Kunegunde managed to covertly organize an abduction of the king when he was on a hunting trip. Now the king is being secretly held in a remote and inaccessible mountain fortress, while Kunegunde is readying for a winter campaign against the queen."
Agree, but it's a lot of info so im good with it. You can slow down the speed in settings to .75 or even .25 speed. I tend to 1.5x videos for faster talking.
I like how you completely forgot about the underground cave in the middle of the castle. Good review though Also LEGO finally restocked the black falcon torsos on pick a brick in Australia. Got me 10 of them
Amazing video! But when u said that ”if this was accurate Lego would be celebrating their 790th anniversary” isnt correct because because in the 2 instruction the Wizard says which to choose? Sorry IM Finnish so here might be some spelling mistakes.

The yellow castle is not a homage to the lion knight's castle in a "yellow color scheme" man. There was an actual yellow castle and that's where the shield heraldics are from too.
Why did they make over half the knights women? We all know knights were not woman and it just bothers me how now I need to replace these heads because LEGO wants to be inclusive while also being historically inaccurate.
I have that Set and it's just awsome, now if we would get more of the castle theme maybe a whole line of Sets that would be soo cool unfortunately knowing lego they probably wont do that...
short answer: no. lego is way overprices in comparison to its competition and the only reason they are still in the monopole in the market is nostalgia, licensing and carelessness of customers
So does anyone think because of these three castle sets are selling good. Do anyone think or hope we might see the return of "Lego Theme Castle/Kingdoms" sets returning in the early future?
If Lego is smart , they would come out with small sets that people can afford. This giant castle is great and all but not everyone has $400 to spend specially with today economy.
Almost perfect except the steep price. Lego is becoming expensive hobby now. Sadly most people can't afford $100 + set any longer. I spent so much money on Bat Tumbler , Baracuda Bay , Optimus Prime , and 90th year Castle. When I was a kid , I didn't have much money so getting a small Lego set was special treat for me.

So we have minifigs wearing kettle hats dating to around the 12th century, along with minifigs wearing nasal/Norman helmets dating to the 9th/10th century as well as “knights” wearing plate chest armour and helmets but no additional armour which never really happened. Plate armour coming in around the 14th century and common in the 15th but we are talking full plate armour not just the chest alone and a nice helmet. 🤔 Then there’s the issue of the dungeon being totally inaccurate. 09:12 Pretty sure the design of the Black Falcons is someone at LEGO referencing Monty Python’s Holy Grail film. The knight with the backpack looks suspiciously like “Patsy” Arthur’s servant in the film.
