Got to meet them after the show, everything I imagined them to be.. Jerry had a bottle of wine in one hand and a glass in the other with the biggest loving life smile you ever saw.. mark was cool as fuck and I got some pictures with him… one of the best nights of my life!
So cool, I just bought tickets to see them in Nashville. Do you happen to know who is drumming for them here? I imagine Josh Freese is tied up with the Foo Fighters now.
That's cool! They were nice to me and a couple pals when we helped them load up their trucks in the rain after a Calderone Concert Hall show Nov.7th, 1981. (had also seen their Halloween shows at Radio City Music Hall the week before, and have seen them a bunch of times since, tho not since around 10yrs ago).
Same with me....I am 58 and saw them in Long Beach with X in 1977!! And I was at BOTH concerts here in Del Mar....Saturday AND Sunday! It was EPIC!!!!!
Since their Desert Daze return to live performance, i love how theyve sharpened songs even more, theyve just been stunning. Mark's 30 secs of synths at 56.05 in Smart Patrol/Mr DNA is a brilliant burst from a master of his craft, he's really ramped that up here, more than any other show. Guitar intro to Satisfaction also has a stronger bite to it. Their merge of punk and synths since mid-late 70s for me, makes these techpunk titans the most vital band on Planet Earth.
Still got it after all these years. Been following them since 1980 Freedom of Choice album. Love them but cant see them live so thanks for loading. Great steady filming too and sound quality.
A glorious band. Are We Not Men is a timeless classic. Nothing since even comes close. Mark Jerry and Bob feel like family members now. Really special.
I saw Devo in 1980 in Udine (Italy). I was very close to the stage and even had the chance to sing "Uncontrollable Urge" for a few secs with Mark. That was an unforgettable concert ❤
Wow!!! Just about every song I would want Devo to play is here. They stripped away my garment with tongs of love. My God, how many times have I yelled Gut Feeling out at the top of my lungs after a painful argument? Wonderful post! Thank you!
Not the best...assembly, so to speak, of the DEVO supergroup; although the current incarnation is suitable as it reflects the collective hivemind conscious, that even, God forbid, the likes of Devo have fallen into - a reverse motivation of sorts initially prompted the group of gentlemen in the first place. Any who, are you keeping up with the great "tumbler" cup sensation of 2024? So many cups are available for your purchasing pleasure - many assortments and logos to meet your own brand and/or aesthetic means. #hell
After all these years, they are still DEVO! I remember buying my first 45, the Booji Boy pressing of Mongoloid / Jocko Homo from Wax Trax in Denver, Colorado. 1977. Blew me away. The cover of the 45 billed them as "De-Evolution", and at the time they were still sorta "The De-Evolution Band". Have followed them all these years through their ups and downs, including the far too soon passing of Bob Casale and Alan Myers. Wonderful to see that Gerald, Mark and Bob are still DEVO-ing to all the DEVO-tees. Long may they wave!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I still say the very best song in their catalog (and I like them all!) is Smart Patrol / Mr. DNA … I don’t care what version- It always slays. If you aren’t pumped up after just hearing it …you aren’t human!
I saw Devo in Long Beach, 1979, Mark threw his energy dome into the crowd, I hoped to catch it, but it hit Bob #1 in the head, almost knocking him out.

That's amazing to hear. It's awesome when your heroes turn out to be cool folks.

Consistently some of the best live performances over the last 45 years. Legends.
Devo was my first concert I ever attended in my teens. I'm 59, seen them multiple times, and this show was AWESOME!
Same with me....I am 58 and saw them in Long Beach with X in 1977!! And I was at BOTH concerts here in Del Mar....Saturday AND Sunday! It was EPIC!!!!!
I travelled to this DEVO show from Australia. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!

When I look at those Trump supporters…

Nice! It was good to see Bob bring his 2x4 guitar back to life! Good to see Michael Pilmer after the set ended.... Thanks for sharing!
I still remember seeing them for the first time on SNL. October 14, 1978. I Can't Get No Satisfaction. blew my mind.

Have loved DEVO since the played "Satisfaction" on Saturday Night Live back in the 70's. Always original, always so much fun!
They sound Great on stage for being so old
Still got it
Amazing!
I was there on the Sunday!
MERAVIGLIOSI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any tips on recording concerts? This is phenomenal both in sound and video!
Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA goes so hard live. I like that Bob1 still uses the guitar he fucked up at Lollapalooza '96 for Mr. DNA.
We are are not man we are devooooo....
Seeing that last shot on screen, I'm thinking DEVO should get together with Bill Nelson's Red Noise.
:)
Me and the ex- saw this show not too faraway from our home
Name two bands Josh Freese is'nt in.
Ill wait.

rolling stones que é uma bosta
High Octane Non Stop DEVO from start to finish , The Venue with its state of the Art Sound System was AMAZING . De-Evolution is REAL Spuds.
😊
Saw them at hammersmith and forgot just how they influenced my teens! Love em.
sucks that I'm just now getting into DEVO when they're about to "retire". :(
You still have time! They'll be around for a while 1:21:11
@@ldubdj😂
I feel the same way

Excellent recording. I remember seeing them just 40+ years ago when they had duct tape on their guitars
Loved the "emergency zoom out" at 16:41 so we could get a better look at the, uh, action with the donut and French fry.
I have loved DEVO for so many decades.
Who’s drumming at this show?
Have we got a Jeff Friedl sighting here?
Bob 3 pretty good

Man they sound fantastic
Criatividade zero até pra plagiar
My gratitude!❤️
Real nerds don't die, they turn into diamonds and become eternal.
