And a suggestion on sanding between coats - you can use a much finer grade of paper than 200....closer to 600 is adequate to take down the rough spots without removing too much of the last coat applied and gives a nice smooth finish.

I have one for my vacuum chamber to take out air bubbles from epoxy but the fitting makes it impossible to attach the air hose or any sort of fitting so that I can attach the hose. Weird fitting. • @KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking
      @KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking  3 года назад +1

      So, you have a couple options on how to secure those pads...there can also be a hole drilled in the other side which allows it to suck down and be secured to the bench, as well as the vacuum hole on the other side that let's you secure your workpiece.

      Thanks David! Bench dogs and t-tracks are both great options. Although t-tracks seem to have quite a bit more clamping and hold down accessories available, they can also snag and damage workpieces when sliding materials across your bench. So, it's really a preference thing. I know some people who love the tracks and others who regret putting them in.

    I too have tear out issues with that style of edge trimmers. What method do you use when it must be perfect?

      Typically I don't it cut the edge banding so oversized , so I will just stick a piece of 120 or 150 grit to a piece of wood and hit the edge at an angle by hand until the excess is trimmed away. Or I will hit a with sharp plane or chisel and finish sanding by hand.

    Great Vid.....
    One thing which made me laugh though.
    @17:00 when you make your "Oh no I forgot a piece comment" did you realise that when you release that piece again to come back to your router table, that your router table will be on the floor?.....lol.

    Amazing table looks awesome, thanks for showing the build, but at the end of the video you seem like regretting it, couse we all know that most likely who wouldn’t use a brand new surface for junk once in a while

      😂 I just know myself and that surface will (at times) become a collection dump for miscellaneous stuff that just gets in the way. Just need to be more vigilant about keeping it clear.
