I've been playing Pokemon for 20+ years and I've never once owned a mew.
@@runecowman Keep an eye on the events page at Serebii. Mew events don't come along often. There was a code redeem one last August-September, but that was the first one since 2016.
Mew is harder to obtain, and it has other things going for it besides just transform.
Y'all ever wonder why you can't breed more dittos? Well you see Dittos are just failed Mew clones. That's why they both know transform and are both pink. It's official in a Pokedex entry in either the FireRed or leafgreen. You can even find tons of dittos in the abandoned lab where mew was clones next to cinnabar islands.
