Very excited to explore this format further! Great banlist, VERY diverse deckpool, & I don't think anything (currently) is steeply-overpowered. Obviously some decks will outperform others, but I'm highly optimistic for this one.
Fissure and Smashing Ground were Gadget hits, done to hit the deck that was popular... in Japan that is. TCG is still mindlessy copying OCG hits and that explains a lot of banlist decisions. Transmigration prophecy was banned because it could technically stall the game forever by returning another copy of it. Jinzo to 2 is a stealth Monarch buff since you can side these 2 in to ruin trap based decks(or just punish people siding in Pulling the Rug). Gemini is the last "keyword" they introduced into the game, an it was probably the last because it was so underpowered. 5D era support makes it a bit playable(like other few GX era cards). Some of these could be a bit more playaable with higher base stats/Better gemini effects/Always treated as normies but they were yet again too scared of making good cards(the GX syndrome). A small upside to the 1500ATK statline is that you can summon the off recruiters in the opponent's BP and them gemini summon them on your turn. This set has a few slightly playable cards but the rest of the pack is kinda of a "Legacy of the Worthless" factory: Overbalanced cards, anime jank or both at the same time(some of these actually get nerfed from the anime). The Perfect Circle Monarch has already sailed and it only gets worse until it gets replaced by the late GX insanity.
Imo, it is fine to show the older includes for people that only will see a guide of this format. But i agree that he doesnt need to talk about the older cards, only the new banned. And one thing he could do is put the new banned card in side, to see better what changed
@@TheBestToasty Thanks for all the feedback on this! The video title thing is for a couple reasons, 1) because I received feedback from people saying that they didn't really like me framing these as guides to the format and then covering a bunch of cards that are unplayable even though they are new. So I shifted the framing to be more on the cards in the packs themselves even if I also feature a banlist discussion and some example deck lists. That's why this title has an emphasis on the pack rather than just being something like "Guide to Zombie format". and 2) I noticed that videos with the format title in them don't do as well. I think this is largely because if someone is interested in retro Yugioh in general, they may click on a video featuring old cards they recognize, but they may be turned away if they think it's content for a specific format they don't already know about. Sorry for the wall of text, hopefully that clarified why I've changed up by video naming scheme!
Thanks for the answer. That clears it up. I know you weren't planning to, but please don't skip the part about the useless cards. Always find it interesting to hear about less talked about cards. I get the thing with the video title. Btw hope you will make another ban list reaction in the future.

I'm also looking forward to it! I worry that PC may be a bit dominant, but hopefully it won't be too bad

Hopefully we can find some decks to compete with PCM, but yeah that deck does cast a long shadow over this era
Zombie Format is pretty damn cool ngl
Yeah I'm excited to try it out more!
When 90% of the ban list is the same maybe just skip the old includes
Good feedback! I'll try to do that for future guides

I think its fine too. Only thing I find strange is the format names not being in the video title anymore for the format overviews
