I still remember back in 2019-2020 while trying to find something interesting to watch. I found kengan and gave it a shot. And i fell in love with it instantly. So seeing it finally end after all these years is insane to me. Can't believe i was 15, and now 19. What a fantastic fucking series.
At first when Kazuo was talking to him, I thought he hadn’t realized Ohma was already gone. But as soon as the scene of him smiling with tears running down his face popped up, it made me cry. Especially after hearing so many times how he cared for Ohma like a son. Kazuo knew since Hanafusa told him he ran off that he was living his last moments. Even after I received spoilers, it’s still heartbreaking to watch. I love this anime!
Excellent end, very sad, indeed, and a bit unexpected, but this makes the story more real, and with great soundtrack, congrats to Netflix for bringing this to the TV screen.

I did like this one for a few reasons, i thought the way they went into all the details about all the different fighting styles and techniques was really interesting, and I actually quite like the visual style of the show, I know that a lot of people arent very big fans of it, but I quite like it.

I love Kengan for multiple reasons, but one in particular is that the show does not care to keep a stereotypical narrative. The main antagonist, the protagonist, doesn't matter who it is, they are all subject to failure and the story does not end with a "happily ever after".

Tatsuhisa suzuki is my favorite voice actor hands down and after what happened with his affair and him attempting to end his life and losing alot of his roles, this role was one of the few he held onto. Seeing the goodbye felt like tatsuhisa himself was saying goodbye to me and it made me cry way more than it should have. (I know what a commenter might come to reply and I already know I've read omega don't worry)

Solid theory, except animation studios have been preaching the lack of returns in investments for decades. It's reason why season 5 of demon slayer will be 3 movies rather than a traditional season. They'll make a fuck ton more money despite demon slayer during prime time and being very popular. Because now with streaming services a series is sold for fixed one time payment. There is no residuals and more time than not it's exclusive rights to 1 platform. No matter how popular a series isn't translated into money to these companies that shouldered the cost of production. They don't get a cut of the increased Manga sales that comes with an anime airing. Popularity does not dictate longevity in this particular industry.

I love how creators decided to completely demolish that beatiful and sad moment by reviving ohma in kengan omega just so he can be milked for content, he is not the only character that suffers that fate unfortunetely.
Some may say that Ohma died for nothing... But he wasn't just fighting for the victory... He was fighting to show everyone that the Niko Style isn't weak. He achieved that goal... Ohma died smiling, and knowing... That he proved everyone wrong.

Anyway , Is heart collapsed, but he was brought back to life by Hajime Hanafusa after he was mysteriously given a cloned heart of Ohma’s to replace the damaged one(From what I read, it’s a secret underworld organization called the worm, their symbol being a centipede). And for the next two years he’s been living in the Kure Village (one of the years he spent time recovering), training and getting stronger for the next tournament(none of his friends really knows he’s alive-yet.)

Kazuo breaking down was the final straw for me. He really added the perfect emotional weight to an otherwise hard, brutal and cold backdrop.
