I consider season 1-4 the second best era of South Park. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have admitted they were still trying to find their footing. Season 5-16 was the peak of South Park. 17 is when they started to use serialization and the seasons got shorter. Now we're down to 6 episodes a season and maybe one special a year.
