That boats a service companies dream.multiple high end systems just waiting to have issues that need Justin to replace.Never been a big”Couch boat”/“Party Barge fan-Fish guts and white upholstery are just not practical for the way we use our boats. I bet that thing could run over to the Bahamas real fast though.Tow a little Boston Whaler skiff behind it and you’d have a real fun package to play with over there. @@JustinLeeMarine we just had 2 days in the 50s up here Justin. That means no need to burn Pellets for heat-which puts 2 days worth on the back end of what will be a long ass winter. I heat my house with a Wood pellet stove and thankfully so with heating oil near $6 a gallon.
@@JustinLeeMarine I’ll be there shortly-just need to tie up some life, kid, business, mother in law issues and I’m heading back down. The planets need to line up a tiny bit better first-and they will.I’m NOT dying in NY-NO F-ING WAY.I don’t want to pay the death tax here..YES-there is such a thing!!
They are original batteries from the first set of motors. I'm sure they have been drained a few times throughout the year or so the boat has been used. Florida is hard on things. Especially batteries. 🙃
The engines only have 17 hours. The batteries were original to the boat when it had 300s. They probably have gone dead a few times in their life and now they won't stay charged. Not 100% sure why but batteries in boats have a hard life. Good question and thanks for watching.
yeah they never last. my boat is only 1 year old and it already needed one of the batteries replaced. suspect it was allowed to go dead or went too long without being on the charger at some point. its pretty easy to forget to power on the charger during your shut down procedure once in a while.
hey Justin, great video, nice motors on that one! id love to be able to drive my express 330 with twin 450s on it just to see what they are like compared to the yamaha 425 i have. have you worked on or seen any cool gradys lately? Thanks again for your help with my generator on my 330. it ran great for the rest of the season after i replaced the actuator and bled the cooling system.
It would run well with the 450s but Grady's are heavy and need the torque from the bigger engines. Yamahas are made for that scenario and Grady's are not speed style hulls. The Mercs are smaller displacement but higher horsepower. Better for lighter boats. Stick with Yamaha. It's still my favorite and thank you😀
@@JustinLeeMarine I have been disappointed with them because the boats performance is really not close to what grady white says it should be able to do. Even with just me in the boat and low fuel and a light equipment they are 800 rpm off what grady white the boat says it should do. Grady white says 53 mph at 6100 rpm. Last day of the season my boat went 40 mph at 5200-5300 rpm WOT with low fuel and just me in the boat. When youre expectoing 50+ mph and getting barely 40 that is disappointing.
@@Jorday6600 That doesn't seem right. I would check your props and make sure you have the correct pitch on them. You should get close to 6000 rpms and close to 50mph. See what prop is put on from the factory and make sure it matches. Cup and pitch will make a big difference in performance.
Nice man thanks for sharing
Love the planning in this boat. Really nice set up. And the extra horses on it is not wrong 🤭. Good episode this one.
I agree. It's a nice set up and thank you ☺️
nice video, sweet boat, nice set up!!!!
Thanks ☺️

Thank you. It's a nice set up for entertaining or camping or cruising around. Hope all is well up in the cold 🥶

@@johnm5714 Come join use down in Florida's wild west. 🙃. We have a great governor. ☺️
Thats a strange looking bird, by the way 😜
Nice video. Why did the batteries run down with such low hours on the engines? Was one of them bad from the start?
They are original batteries from the first set of motors. I'm sure they have been drained a few times throughout the year or so the boat has been used. Florida is hard on things. Especially batteries. 🙃
Did they reset the hour meter to zero, when they did the repower? Seems sketchy as the rest of the boat’s mechanicals had hours on it
Yes. It starts over when the new engines get put on. It all comes from the engines computers.
The 450R ‘s are an option on that SLX 400
Good to know. I have only seen the 300s on them. I think it definitely makes the boat with the Racing outboards. Cool set up. ☺️
@@JustinLeeMarine with 450 R’s it will run 62 to 65 MPH . Also it can be had with twin 600 V12’s , runs about 60 MPH . It’s an awesome boat
What would cause a boat with 17 hours to have three bad batteries, with two functioning chargers?

@Justin Lee I was going to ask the same question, I figured you would say what you did. Great content as always
