    My husband has these. We do faires on the regular, but he doesn't get to go as often due to working weekends. But he loves them when he is out. I am actually about to purchase these for under my own garb. My husband switched out the buttons for other ones. They have held up well in the 1.5 years we have had them and on top of it they have gotten a bit softer. He does wear them with thicker socks also. Helps with comfort.

      Brian has been wearing his more frequently of late. No issues! Very comfortable! He's glad he got them!

    I’ve had my $1000 custom boots for 18 years had to replace the sole once a year ago. Worn 2-3 times per week to fight in historical recreation groups and 10 years working a renn faire in them also hunting hiking. I’ve never had a pair of boots more comfortable. Windwalker moccasins well worth the money. Highly doubt that those boots would talk the abuse I give mine and survive long. Support your handmade artisan

      We agree 100%. If you can afford them, there is nothing like custom made shoes. If you wear them often, they are totally worth the cost. If you go to the Renn Faire once a year and maybe wear them a couple other times a year, these boots work pretty darn well.

    Thank you this is what I was looking for. I'd love to have the 1000 buck boots from the ren faire but wasn't able to make it back to order so I'll be checking these cheaper options out and see if I'm ok with the cheaper or want the expensive by the time the faire comes back in a year.

    I'd have loved to see more of how size 10s fit after you put them on (I'm assuming the second pair were 10s). Mine are bunching up behind my leg, creating a hot spot above my heel, and I still have tons of space in front of my ankle. The tighter I lace them, the more the material is bunching.
    I usually wear a 10.5 or 11, so I ordered 11s first (just like you all did). When those were too big, I ordered the 10s and then again ordered the 9s because the ankle/leg was still incredibly loose. The 9s fit the best around my ankles and calves (although still not fantastic), but my big toe is rubbing against the inside of the shoe so I think I'll be returning all 3 pairs. It's a shame because they are beautiful boots for a very good price, the ankle fit is just so strange.
    For reference, my feet are 10.5" long and my ankles are 10.5" circumference.
    I wouldn't buy these if you are hoping to be able to tighten them down to a snug fit, because they appear designed to stay loose.

      Hi Dave, this is Brian. The 10's fit better, although I still used a good "work" style insole which helped a lot. The ankles are cut a little weird but I was able to get them to fit around my ankle fairly well. I have worn them for nearly a year solid. Mainly to test their durability. I had a couple "blow outs" in the seams of the Upper of the shoe under the outside of my ankles where the leather bunches a bit which I felt should not have happened if the boots were shaped differently. But other than that, they've held up really well. The usual scuffing and such, but no major malfunctions.
      I have also purchased a pair of 9's to keep as a "good" pair. I still needed heel pads, which raised my heel up in the boot to make them fit better. However, my toe also touches the front of the boot, but not uncomfortably so.
      These boots do seem to be designed for people with larger circumference ankles and calves in mind. People like us with skinny legs may want to keep the packaging in case they don't fit that well and we need to return them.

    I’d like to know what you think about them after wearing them around all day. Were they comfortable?

    • @CostumeTrek
      @CostumeTrek  5 лет назад

      Kris Chick actually yes! I put in foot pads to compensate for not having half sizes and wore them for about 8 hours with no issues.

    So, You've had these boots for 6 months. What has been your daily wear and how have they held up?
    I am looking for a new pair of boots. My activity schedule is ( no joke ) 70-75 shows, 6 days a week over a period of 3.5 months ( including rehersal ) ; heavy cardio activity on a sand stage, hand to hand combat, & sword combat. Comfort and durability is an absolut must.

      To be honest, I haven't worn them that many times. But the times I did, was for 6-8 hours each. While the boots were a little stiff from not being broken in, they were comfortable and I had no issues wearing them for that length of time.
