Atlanta is a great place for middle income black families to move and buy a home for like $200k. Tiny homes are being built and for sell starting at $180K-$250K.
Rent: In 1999-2005 we lived in Norcross (Peachtree Elementary ) and had a 3 bedroom townhouse. We paid $750 for rent. In 2005 we bought a 5 bedroom home with full finisher basement (worthington osks subdivision)for $198,000. So I am confused on $500 rent. It’s never been $500. Additional info in 1999 we lived on Jimmy Carter Blvd (Guest Hoise Inn) for $175 a week all bills paid. So please tell me where the $500 rent is at ???

This was 2005. My rent was $650. These were all 1 bedrooms. My friends who were here mid 90s to early 2000s were paying $500 or less.

Native Atlantan here to give my 2 cents. Atlanta is not built to this kind of migration movement. Georgia was and still is a rural based state. The espressways and roads just doesn't make sense. There will have to be an extreme road development plan or something.

I do believe that there is money mismanagement as well entities like GA Power that are getting over on the area and do not invest/improve the city fabric. Just look at all of the powerlines everywhere in town.........
@@leedart This explains a ton. Does the city help with the potholes? Peachtree street in Midtown is more than ridiculous. Lastly when Twelve Atlantic station was being built representatives came to Novare to discuss the marta bus going under Centennial Condos. Novare was going to fund a portion and so was Marta so I agree with your comments,
Dont come to DFW.....we are FULL!
too late they still coming to dfw... shoot i want a high rise/penthouse in dallas.
It's better out there, that's why..
Stop being worried bout the “drip” and invest in your future the right way

Good afternoon! Thanks for all the valuable information you share!🙂
glad you enjoyed it.
I am moving there soon from New Hampshire
enjoy the city.
Any future plans to discuss Charlotte or NC as a whole? Much growth

not really. when i visit later this year maybe. I use to live in the NODA district before it blew up.
Ericka i'm looking forward to your book of the month club !!!
hahaha i will review some more books.
Check out Urbanized LA.
I live an hour outside of Seattle. I see the commercials of the new developments often. When Seattle got rid of the Bubble Gum wall at the Pike's Place Market a few years ago, I knew this was coming.
the bubble gum wall is back though....
Love the channel sis. Thanks for dropping game

Great article and what website did you get this information from. We purchase a house in Atl for even we retire from Texas but I do not want to leave Texas. Girl you be coming thru Erica

New Yorker here buying every house, condo or townhouse I can get in Atlanta the Natives can keep complaining about the price it won't get any better sorry crash will not happen.
exactly. thats the point.
Atlanta only got better with the influx of NYers.
@@six6goddess214 Atlanta was better LONG before you got here. Don't get cocky.

Lol 😂, I like when people say, “Alanna” so southern. Yes, it’s getting crowded by the minute. Too many cars i285.
atlanta is southern pop... like nashville
Good grief. Atlanta is my beloved native home but entirely too many ppl have come here, diminishes the whole metro area. Think carefully if you’re thinking of coming here. I’ve flown into Ontario it had a lovely Mountain View-thanks for this vid
its definitely going to change your city but hopefully the future of atlanta is bright for the new residents
Sunbelt major cities are all about growth! It was inevitable
48% of all home sales last year were in the southeast
They have been showing ya'll how they feel for over 30years,its just now it's moving much much faster, She's right...Atlanta is Something New..
atlanta is about to be brand brand new
Only if you are the owning the properties.zGenocide at its best
Love the video!
glad you enjoyed it.
Atlanta is a great place for middle income black families to move and buy a home for like $200k. Tiny homes are being built and for sell starting at $180K-$250K.
LOLOLOL you didn't have to diss Phoenix like that.
phoenix is dry
Rent: In 1999-2005 we lived in Norcross (Peachtree Elementary ) and had a 3 bedroom townhouse. We paid $750 for rent. In 2005 we bought a 5 bedroom home with full finisher basement (worthington osks subdivision)for $198,000. So I am confused on $500 rent. It’s never been $500. Additional info in 1999 we lived on Jimmy Carter Blvd (Guest Hoise Inn) for $175 a week all bills paid. So please tell me where the $500 rent is at ???
There are series of videos on youtube from older atlanta folks claiming it was 500 dollar rent in atlanta hence why so many new yorkers moved back in the day
@@ErickaWilliamsCC Ohhhhh I'll look for those videos
I paid $600 for a 1 bedroom in Peachtree corners in 2009. That same apartment is $1000.
@@learningearning8385 Exactly! And if you were on the right side of the street your children attended Peachtree Elementary. Peachtree Elem was a Blue Ribbon School (top tier) back then. Georgia is run by school districts
My first apt in Atlanta was $595 on clairmont rd all included. This was 2003. All the apts around me were a little over $400s. My next apt in 2004 was $575. After that moved to Buckhead. This was 2005. My rent was $650. These were all 1 bedrooms. My friends who were here mid 90s to early 2000s were paying $500 or less.
Hi Erica... just out of curiosity, do you recommend Phoenix to live (for AA's)? It is the fastest growing metro, right?
No. It's just a spill over from California. But it does have jobs.
@@ErickaWilliamsCC People are coming in droves from Chicago and the east coast too.
I just saw a news report on how African Americans in Arizona are homeschooling their kids because their kids didn't feel part of the community in the public schools. I think it might be challenging for families with young kids.
Atlanta will get extremely expensive with everyone moving there.
this is every boomtown in the south.
What is the next best Area to move to then?
cities around atlanta. cities around nashville tn, and cities in the carolinas.

why LA?? extreme homeless problem, high taxes. good luck.

Native Atlantan here to give my 2 cents. Atlanta is not built to this kind of migration movement. Georgia was and still is a rural based state. The espressways and roads just doesn't make sense. There will have to be an extreme road development plan or something.
no where south of North Carolina is built for this level of migration but the city has a economic development plan you can view on city website, its coming.
I just move to Atl! Loooooove it!
congrats its a fun city
@@ErickaWilliamsCC i mean it seems like a great place to live & date. I wasn't looking for fun more ease of living. And better dating options. Its great!
19 in metro NYC. 8 mill in NYC
I live in Colorado… cost of living for a single parent is ridiculous!!! Our minimum wage is almost $15 and most are still struggling…. I’m thinking about relocating to ATL…lol… which WFH jobs should I apply for??
what certifications do you have?
Minimum wage is still $7.25 in GA. Single parents can't even survive in ATL.
@@abattle2233 only 3 million people across the whole United States get paid that. It's less than 3% of the USA population.

when are you moving?
First they take over Atlanta then Birmingham is next on the hit-list
oh yes. birmingham is back up on the list.
Birmingham population is declining. Huntsville is the city that is growing in AL.
Atlanta is going in the trash quickly. Remember the poor eat the rich, and people are moving down here to become a victim. Yes live in your nice high rise and your car broken into daily.
they are going to be rounding those folks up daily coming soon. the jails and prisons in GA about to be full. I heard about alot of car break ins.
Not “you moving” in the title!😂
in the title I want them to know.
On point as always

Lmao i love how you take pleasure (or appear to take pleasure) in getting dusty folks "outta there".
folks who aren't busy can go live in the nowhere towns where rent is cheap. Lottering around a busy city with no plan is a quick way to poverty or homelessness.
My NW Atlanta property taxes just doubled
why? alot new construction near your home
Nothing but the truth!!!

It's half a million for anything lol the end
facts you will need paperwork and show that you got money.
Phoenix is a dry heat not like Austin!!

Atlanta has a lot going for it. I think the area is definitely still on the rise. I don't see the median income going up to $100k like a Seattle, DC or San Francisco. I like Atlanta for a place to visit but not to live and definitely not to retire. What will happen to all of the Black Hollywood dreamers. They will have to move to Memphis or Tulsa lol.
They gonna get moved from there also they gotta get their salaries up
yuck... memphis is the worst.
@@ErickaWilliamsCC I agree. The worst place I've ever lived.
The first $65,000 or retirement income isn't taxed in Georgia. In California the top rate is 13%. California gives absolutely no breaks for retirees: No sun for old people.
I'm going to talk about Atlanta and why you won't be there 😁
ahahah
Atlanta is going down. Trust me. It’s like Chicago. I’m moving out to Dallas in May. Never coming back.
incorrect. chicago has 50% black male unemployment and terrible taxes. Atlanta doesn't have that at all. the migration from north to south is in a effect plus people coming from LA to atlanta.
@@ErickaWilliamsCC you must be a black male? Guess what? I am and I’m from Chicago. Atlanta has the same opportunities as Chicago. It’s easy to find employment for black women but extremely hard to find employment for a black man. Lucky I own many of my own businesses but it was rough for me and many others. This is with a masters. I am telling you from a black male point of view Atlanta is not it. Myself and other successful black friends of mines our moving to Texas. STAY PUT OF ATLANTA trust me. It’s ghetto and resources are trash. Move here if you want people. Lol. Black people are broke here spending all their money showing off. They look rich but their not.
Not true African American small business owners are doing well in Atlanta and southern states in general.
