- Midnite performs at Veterens Hall in Santa Cruz on December 11, 2009. This is the whole show, and Midnite's last at Vets Hall before it was condemned. Introduction by Rocky Bailey, Zion Pavilion, Rasta Man Stand, The Eyes Are The Light, Don't Move(Lions Dread), Birthright Is The Ticket, Children of the Rising Sun/Repatriation Song, Listen, I Chant/Watch Ova Ya/House of Behavior, Due Reward, Bushman, Isreal. If you know the name of the tune they end with, after three hours of chanting, please let me know. I spoke with Rocky Bailey before the show and gave him a copy of his show with his brother, Ras Michael at SNWMF in 2009. I like to think he was talking to me when he says to stay in focus a few minutes later during the introduction.
Gone way too soon. Today on my 50th Earthday remembering you Vaughn. Usually you would have performed in NYC around this time as you did every year. I will hold you in my heart forever...Teacher, Prophet, Legend 💔😢💚💛❤
@T. King I cried nearly everyday for a year. Man...it hurt bad. Broke my heart!!! I was honored to see him twice before he passed. The first concert was in May 2019 I filmed in Arcata, Northcoast Cal,, at Mazotto's but should of done the whole show. Still need to get professional recording gear. Nomo's got it dialed in. The whole groups' synergy in this one amazes me. When Vaughn freestyles into: "Wonderful Councillor, prince of peace!" during Due Reward is my favourite moment. Magic! 2:02:06

Dima, you are most welcome. That is the kind of response that keeps me editing for hours to make these videos. This is actually a very special show, their last at the old Vets Hall in Santa Cruz. When i introduced myself to Ron the next year and brought copies of all my midnite and dezarie recordings, he asked me if i had this show, and when i showed it to him he did a little dance. The artist who is painting that you see during the 'children of the rising sun' part is matt, very cool guy who i see every year at reggae on the river. The music this night was sick, and after three hours of chanting and vibes, they play that last song.....it is my honor and my privilege, to be among the tutelage......I hope you do go catch Akae Beka, nothing like a live show. I live in Richmond, California, across the bay from San Francisco. But i was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, left in 1982.
Ahhh You are so lucky! I live in the UK and as far as I am aware, Vaughn and the band do not come to play here. I went to Paris last year and saw them.... it was mind blowing. Thankfully I can experience lots of the shows I have to miss through your recordings on youtube. Thanks man.

Thing is i watch mine more than any others. For a long time my favorite clip was the 'Rasta Living Inna Babylon' part of this show, with the painter. Thing is every show is special so it's hard to pick a favorite. Reggae on the River 2012 was good too.

Not long after this show it was decided that the Vets Hall in Santa Cruz was not earthquake safe. So it was closed, and has been recently re opened. There were several Midnite shows at Vets Hall prior to this one, but this was the last before it was closed.
