We use anchor pro all the time and we have some, perhaps interesting tips. 1. When setting the 'set distance' take the GPS accuracy in consideration. Which means if your tablet usually has an accuracy of 10 mtrs take that into consideration when you put the set distance. E.g. if you have 40 mtrs out don't put the set distance at 40 mtrs or even 45 when your accuracy is 10 mtrs. You will be hearing the alarm all the time and by the end of the night you will be freaking out. 😀 Just add the accuracy to the total distance and you will be fine. 2. When you find an anchor position and you are curious to find out if that position will keep you clear of the shallow waters, simply put the set distance (incl GPS accuracy) and press current position. When you then look on the map menu you will see the ring around your chosen position and thus you can instantly see if you will be in shallow waters when the wind changes suddenly overnite. 3. When entering the 'Set distance' take the position of the phone or table into consideration. You may drop 40 mtrs of chain, but if your phone or tablet is 10 mtrs behind the bow you will need to take that into consideration. If you don't.......the alarm will go off all the time. 😀 And that will get your attention when you are sound asleep. 4. If you have the opportunity put the coordinates of the anchor position in another phone or tablet, that way you will have a back up. If one of them loses GPS signal you still have another one to keep you safe. Not necessary when it is dead calm, but in a storm it can come in handy in a storm. Completely besides the apps, but there is a good idea here in the Med, which should be applied. It is not my own idea, saw it in the US and am wondering why this is not done in the Med..................get the owners of mooring buoys to write on the mooring buoy what the maximum length and tonnage or a vessel can be. That way anyone can instantly see if that buoy is for their boat or not. I have no idea who to contact to get this pushed through, maybe you know who to talk to ? Lastly, next to the DHMZ website (for weather forecast) we also use Ventusky and we found this to be more accurate than Windy or Windfinder. However DHMZ is still the most accurate one in Croatia.
@@45DegreesSailing Well, you showed us alright! 😂 New skipper here bud. Hope we'll see next year there on the Adriatic sea. First round of beer in tavern is on me 😊
