The slaw really adds a lot. Here in northern North Carolina ordering a hot dog "all the way" gets you mustard, chopped onions, chili and slaw. Delicious!

Jackie, love how cleaned you kept everything as you were cooking, the recipe looks great also, one suggestion is don't ever drain your liquid down the sink, fasted way to clog your pipes up, the grease will always stick to the walls of the pipe no matter how much hot water you run after. Hey Amanda! Thanks. I won that Chili Cook-Off in 2017 but I’ll remember it forever. I was really surprised that I win. Yesterday my Son Gregory said Momma you haven’t posted a video in two weeks, what’s up? So here we are. I hope you make this and enjoy it.
May I just make a suggestion? Designate a tasting spoon, but use your other utensils to place the food on it, instead of putting it back in the pan of food numerous times.
The chili is good without Ruth’s. I’m used to using Ruth’s because that’s what my Grandmother used. You’ll have to make the chili both ways to see if you can tell the difference.
With Hamburger meat, you don't have to put it in the microwave. Just put it in the pan your cooking in covered and then it will thaw on med. low heat, continue to cooking until done.
@@JackiesSouthernSoul I have a johnsonville sausage grill, which works great, provided your sausage links are not too big. But for hotdogs you would need to cut them down to size to fit and the spot they fit in on the grill plate is not that long. Plus the johnsonville grill is kind of a pain to clean. Baking them in the oven is such a great idea. We always just fried them in a cast iron skillet when I was a child or if at the part, had them on a grill. Very rarely did we boil them.
