The 5" one is as small as I would go. I know there is a XS 87 00 100 but that seems too small and would bite the hand when applying leverage. Nice comparison on the two here.
i have the smallest ones. i have lost 2 and bought new pairs the same day both times. before these the most used tool i had was either bigger cobra or leatherman. im a welder/fitter.
Wow what a big difference in the jaws . I am in the market for either the 150 or 180 and the jaw pattern on those 2 are very different as well . The 180 goes back to more of the 125 jaw pattern . Definitely appreciate the video . I have the 125’s and like that jaw pattern . I will be going with the 180’s . Thank you . 😁

Those 150mm pliers appear to be counterfeit, although a better copy than most I've seen. The extra hump on the back of the jaws gives it away. They often will use phillips screws for the spring and many knock-offs forgo the words in the button, although yours actually have that. Knipex 150mm Cobras have 16 positions
I call b.s. Those 150's appear 100% genuine. "Extra hump on the back of the jaws" isn't specific enough to be coherent. I can't find whatever you're seeing. The cheapest and most common place to get them is the top recommended on amazon, and knipex website links directly to it for purchase. Where on earth do you imagine people buying knockoffs of already super inexpensive wrenches? These aren't rolex's dude. They're not even as fine as smokeshop folders, they're supposed to be crude workhorses. Each unique and roughly shaped in areas. I uninstall my grips and dehorn the handles for grip-down knife-pocket carry. They're gnarly under those grips. I'd be interested to see if there are any markings under those grips, even though I think they're genuine ;)
At one point, I was looking for an EDC set of pliers. I bought the smallest Knipex (125), Cornwell/Channel Lock and Snap-On. I found the small jaw opening combined with the fine adjustment on the Knipex to be too fiddley (if that’s a word). I needed up carrying the Snap-On after a small modification. However, I bet if I had purchased the Knipex 150’s those would be my EDC since it looks like it solves my gripes with the 125 model for close to the same size.
I have the 15 cm Cobra (87 01 150) and the 15 cm plier wrench (86 03 150). Believe it or not, I used the Cobra to crack the shell of big crab whenever I go out eating seafood. 15 cm Cobra is superior to 12.5 cm due to its teeth and leverage.
Exactly. I wish there was more content, mods, customs etc. I want to shorten a pair of 150's, I don't know maybe to 5 1/2, 5 1/4. But what I REALLY want is knipex to make the 125 wrench (all same dimensions) but 6 inch length, no rubber grips and with the diamond grip texture and handle shape of the 100's!
Hi can you anyone please tell me how this guy is doing is well after his illness and if he could please update us on how he is doing watching from South Africa thank you and God bless ❤
Hey quick question, are you familiar with the “reca” brand? A colleague from Austria come over for work and I notice that he had what seem to be a wera tool check plus set in a most green and black color but the sockets were not color coded. After a closer looks it branded as reca. Even the little ratchet had reca logo and the wera-shaped handle. I thought it was some branding scheme from wera but he also had a little cobra like the ones on this video with Kinipex on the casting but green handles with the reca brand on them. He some more insulated pliers similar to wiha but again with the reca logo. I figure you might be able to explain with a going on there in a nice video form
Unless you really need something small, go for the 150mm. Much better grip in the hand, better teeth, more comfortable to use and much better leverage. The 150mm is a small item in itself.
As the other guy said, for anybody asking how they compare, go for the 150 Cobra. The 125 is way to small, 150 is still very small but way more capable.
Thanks, interesting comparison. I now decided to get the 100 mm version plus the 180 mm version. 100 mm for EDC and for small stuff and the 180 for general usage. I am sure that will be a nice combo.

Definitely appreciate the video . I have the 125’s and like that jaw pattern . I will be going with the 180’s .
Thank you . 😁
The 150s in this video are counterfeit
@@bobbing4snapples what do you base that on?
Must have the 125's. Nice reveiw!!
For me the best wather Pump in world Knipex cobra and knipex wrench The best wather Pump in world , knipex The best design lenghts here from Portugal 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
Will the small one open a large juice cap or milk bottle?
The 87 01 150 is a MUST if you do HVAC - I use it many times each and every day.
I enjoy your video on the cobras.
However, I bet if I had purchased the Knipex 150’s those would be my EDC since it looks like it solves my gripes with the 125 model for close to the same size.
those are nice, looks perfect for those tight small places
I have the 15 cm Cobra (87 01 150) and the 15 cm plier wrench (86 03 150). Believe it or not, I used the Cobra to crack the shell of big crab whenever I go out eating seafood. 15 cm Cobra is superior to 12.5 cm due to its teeth and leverage.
Which one do you like more, the Knipex Cobra 150 or the Knipex plier Wrench 150?
There’s also the Cobra XS (100mm) it’s smaller than these two.
Not much discussion on the 150 so thanks
KCTools has quite the sale on these. I wish they had an insulated version though. Sometimes I deal with hexnuts in tight spaces with high voltages.
How do the 125mm and 150mm pliers wrenches compare?
Unless you really need something small, go for the 150mm.
Much better grip in the hand, better teeth, more comfortable to use and much better leverage.
The 150mm is a small item in itself.
As the other guy said, for anybody asking how they compare, go for the 150 Cobra. The 125 is way to small, 150 is still very small but way more capable.
thanks for this information
from Mexico
Thank you for this great review.
I thought they self gripped my 8701125s don’t am I missing something please
Dammit, now I want both ;)
Thanks, interesting comparison. I now decided to get the 100 mm version plus the 180 mm version. 100 mm for EDC and for small stuff and the 180 for general usage. I am sure that will be a nice combo.
I also have the 100. no plasti grip, just bare handle which makes them perfect for edc.
I bought the 150 because I feel like I don’t want to ruin my leatherman pliers doing something heavy duty I want my leatherman to be in good shape for when I absolutely need it
Thanks, you helped me a lot to make my choice, i'll be getting the 125 model :)
사이즈 고민하다가 이영상을 보고, 결정하는데 큰 도움이 됬습니다. 150mm!!
Just got my 250mm cobras today!
180mm normal size, for 250mm I'd go and indeed went for the QuickSet variant.
How much is a mm, we use the king's measurements.
Very useful video.
They should make a 100mm one as a gag. Stocking stuffer!
I love my micro tools I'd be all over those I've got 3 in crescent micro 2.5 in ratchet 4 in Klein cutters they are all awesome as hell and very useful for tight spots
It's in their new items for this year. The knipex cobro XS
@@jakesnowake1 Wow it's adorable.
Adorable yes and totally sucks. Sent the Cobra XS’s back.
Dude you need to do new videos, love your channel😎😍😎😍😎
the 125 is very small when you actually go to do anything with it ,,, 150 is handy though.
The teo smallest are actually 100mm and 125mm
thank you!
KN 125 awesome for hvac works...
Thank you
whats a millimeter?
A unit of measurement used in the whole universe except the US.
A thousandth of a metre, or about 3/64" if you like to complicate things.
Well there’s room Guly 25 of them in an inch
🤦never skip school 🤦
It's about four hundred and thirty seven twelve hundred and sixty thirds of a quart in those sensible Merkin units.
If edc i choice knipex xs 100mm
125s are a joke in my opinion, can barely hold them might as well use fingers. i will be returning both and getting 180 alligators but id say handling both if people are looking for an edc pair go 150. even then i think 180s are best compact size as small as id go
The smallest is the Cobra xs
Trovo che la 180 sia la più versatile e rimane anche piccola e sottile
Not anymore.
Thank u
I own both… so should you!
25 mm, but no leverage.
So cuuuute!! 😆
buy both. one for edc the other stay at home/kithen. no regret.
Amazing, a video to compare two exact products except for an insignificant ONE INCH length difference!
It's no wonder aliens decide not to visit planet Earth!
