Jesus..it doesn’t matter if it was 4 years ago when I was a broken man like Cullen, or now in 2020 when I am happily married ..this scene has me bawling my eyes out every time..as soon as the music starts I feel my eyes swell up. This is one of the most powerful scenes of any show I have ever seen
I totally agree. Cullen loved Lily and Lily loved Cullen. Wished they could have stayed together. I cryed still do had to buy all 5 seasons and the Duhks CD with this song. Yes me too. Like you said as soon as I the first note its gut wrenching and yet I keep coming back to listen. It reminds me of someone who I loved dearly and we would watch this show together. Unfortunately she didn't see fit to stay with me but any time I hear it I think of her.

The last episode crushed me. Noone walked away from there a Winner. Only loosers to different degrees. Og literately was Hell on wheels. But noone realised it untill it was too late.
I have seen so many series and Noone was like this, makes me so sad and happy. There were only 5 seasons but everyone was better than the other!! People nowadays don't accept quality shows. Iam very angry watching a Shitshow like Supernatural going with 15 seasons, but this is life and that's what Hell on wheels is teaching us...
When I heard this song in the movie, I had to find it on RUclips so I could hear it again and again. One of my all time favorite songs.
That's exactly what I did. What a lovely, well sung, heart felt song...I miss my daughter so much..I wish I'd known of this song at her funeral..for I would have surely played it. 💜
Just found this series, nothing today compares to this quality of writing and acting.
Listening to this after a fantastic weekend at Destination Star Trek and meeting Cullen Bohannon himself, Mr Anson Mount. He is the kindest most humble person and I look forward to meeting him again

@@sparkynate91 Personally, I love both shows but I think the screenwriting, characters and dialogue in Deadwood are way better. HoW is basically Deadwood for Generation Z.

I was actually satisfied with the ending. New life new beginnings with Mei. He found someone to share his life. Mei was good for him, she saw him for who he really was, a good man.
So did Lily. She lived him despite the things he'd done. She saw his heart which he had closed off for so long.

Love this song, reminds me of my first love.
As soon as I hear the first note of this beautiful song its gut wrenching and yet I keep coming back to listen. It reminds me of someone who I loved dearly and we would watch this show together and I was so excited when she said she also loved the show. Unfortunately she didn't see fit to stay with me but any time I hear it I think of her. She was a beautiful soul who struggles with some personal things and it and some of my doings as well lead to our separation. I'll always love her though.

Loved this series so much I bought all the DVD's !! Absolute best, more accurate than anything out there today, incredible actors and actresses throughout!!! The people behind this were really, really, good at research, and actually, - Everything - they did - to make this so compelling..
Remember, when that Black Butler sang acapella, that beautiful, french tune in French??? Wow, that was amazing ! He had the perfect voice range and vibrato...

I am so in love with this series and its music. Just an incredible adventure. One recurring theme is everyone shows back up even if you thought they died. Hmmm i have finished all five seasons and i am now jonesing.... kardashions? They make all this money and get all that attention. Who gives a shit about those kinds of people. They have never shoveled snow off miles and miles of rr tracks. They would break a nail. These reality shows are nowhere near reality. Thats whats wrong with young people today. They live in that bubble. Back in the day the had reao men not sniveling whining woosies

The loss of Annabelle was almost a show stopper... a truly realized character with clear conflicts... never giving into passion... other than a passion to realize her husband’s dream... almost stopped watching after she was killed off... but the other characters kept me hooked... not with any regret... the hanging of the Swede was EPIC!!!

The violin speaks to deep, heart wrenching loss for these two people. A terrible sadness. I find it heartening that they possess great personal strength that will see them through.

I fell deeply asleep watching the series and only drifted back into consciousness as this song began. The images and the music conspired to seep under my waking and carry me into a reverie that I still feel every time I hear this song. I slightly prefer Kat Goldman's original version. It is even more haunting.

Not big on comparing my life to film. But that scene when he gave in to lily in the train car.....I understand that. I lost someone young and it was a long time before i could try to love again. I almost couldn't do it. I almost cried. I was trembling. I felt terrible guilt. I was a very broken Man and here was this beautiful Woman seeing past all my pain. I "Got" that scene of the show.

Hell on Wheels, based back in the times when there was real justice in the world, and the criminals were held accountable.
When she died, I was done with this series.
I still watched it for a while after her death but that was a devastating loss. To this day I haven't watched the final season. Maybe someday.

I honestly think Thor killed her to only get back at Cullen. My guess is that he knew that they had a thing going on, so he took her life to only fuel his anger. Thor was aware that his wife and boy were killed by Union soldiers, so he knew killing his new lover would hurt him. If he can't kill Cullen, then he would destroy him emotionally.

I think the writer kept us all guessing in every episode unpredictable yet as I watched each episode year after year I did predict a few like the moment the preacher cutoff the union soldier's head with the Rebel sword he'd taken at Antietam. Hell on Wheels!
I wouldn't put something like that past Durant to do but this was Swede tormenting Bohannon all the way through. He wanted to make Bohannon think of him every time he thinks of Lily.
