An expanded pocket organizer, such as he's shown before, would be a good accessory. You can stash the Companion, some tension wrenches, and a small flashlight all in the same little organizer, and drop it into a pocket.
I've never been remotely interested in lockpicking, and here I am seriously considering getting this and learning, just because of how much I enjoy your videos.
The method that LPL chose to start with was the most difficult method, but he used it on a really easy lock. I have that same lock that I practice on. I once showed a someone who had never picked before and she opened it in less than 5 minutes. Strangely enough, I'm not good at raking, so I can't open it via rake, but picking it is a breeze.
I would argue that the most difficult method to open this lock using this tool is to use it as a lever to try to RIP THE METAL APART... For most of us would be impossible... But I can still hear a echo of "and we got this open" at the end of the experiment
For anyone with hand tremors like me that needs a little help: don’t screw in the extenders all the way. It’ll make them stick out more when you’re stacking the tools and washers and make it just a smidgen harder for them to fall off. Once you get the screws in the turning motion will tighten up the extenders before the screws themselves.

@@siraff4461 That's not a knife blade. It's not sharp at all. It's only a bit pointy. It's used to lower the locking lug of some locks that have it exposed (without any shielding between the core and the locking mechanism). Here's a video in which the LockPickingLawyer himself explains what the tool is and how it works (The link will take you to the second where the tool is mentioned). Remember, it does not have a sharp edge to cut. It's just a little pointy in the end to be able to stab into that locking lug and lower it down. The video shows that in great detail. Have a look! Hint for the rest of us who have 5 thumbs on each hand, for getting past that "Let's flip this over and close the handle lock" step without scattering picks every which way across your desk: Rotate the 4 items (2 each side) on the top 90 degrees before flipping over. It will give you more room to prevent knocking the stacks over, mainly by moving at least two of your thumbs out of the way.
I just wanted to say that as a non-picker, I purchased a covert companion handle and a few accessories. It's brilliant - it's more or less a fully customizable multi-tool. You can even add your own tools or keys if you can drill the right sized holes, which I did for a few things I wanted to add. I really think that's worth leaning into from a marketing perspective (though it looks like you're not having trouble selling). This is a very valuable product, even for non-pickers!

I was about to try to put them all on one side when I decided to search RUclips for "Covert Companion" and found this instruction video! Even following the video step by step, I knocked it over and dropped some of them on the last step when putting the two halves together!
I purchased your kit several months back and finally assembled it today. I also bought another pick kit you offer on your website. I was ecstatic when I successfully picked my first lock with your tools. I reveled in the moment. I’ll show my kids and see whether they want to take up the hobby.
That's clever! I would personally just include a little note with the episode number(s) in the package rather than engrave it in the tool itself though.

As a European, the dollar is rather low right now. It is more often than not, though. It's still an expensive tool - unless you actually need it, in which case it's probably as cheap as it gets.
Just got my CC a few days ago. Love that you used the KeySmart system for it (I've used the Tile embedded one for my keys & a few EDC tools for years). I found that a number of tools required a little light bending/tweaking to get everything to align & nest correctly.
this is such a cool tool. i have been watching these for years now and feel i have a starter knowledge to picking. while you went to pick i guessed all 3 ways you were going to do it. i have only picked one lock in my life. and will buy this tool later to play with and teach my self how to do it. thanks again for this video
you need to add a "holster" to the outside to hold a couple of tension tools so everything is all together.....nothing like remembering the covert companion and forgetting your tensioner.....
LPL has shown his pocket organizer before; I forget which video #, but it's a little leather triple pouch that holds a compact pen, a small flashlight, a key organizer like this one (loaded with select picks), and some tension wrenches. I've been using the same key organizer for years, and it's super efficient. Adding the pocket organizer was an easy upgrade.
Thank you, also for the entertainment value, because it still manages to captivate me to see practical tools in use, especially when demonstrated as plainly as this. I wonder if IKEA has ever planned to post assembly videos for their flat-pack products on their website or on RUclips.

I ordered the starter picking set and after receiving it and trying to pick a master lock, my already very high respect for you has grown. I can't manage to get it open, but I'm going to keep practicing. That's for the great videos!
Bought one, love it. Need to keep the expansion kits coming, examples: more combs, meant for wider spaced 6 teeth and conversely smaller spaced 4 teeth. Also one of my favorite rakes has a picklike pointy bottom, and just 2 triangles on top. Lastly, things tend to loosen up with folding and unfolding. A simple fix for this would be lightly plastic coating the receiving ends of all the screws, making them more like lock nuts when tightened, but still releasable. Great tool, expect to see even more in the future. And as always, have a great day.
I just got mine. Honestly I just used stainless washers and alternated them so the various picks would slip between two on the other side. The washers are thicker and the picks will slip around on thier own, but I have a thing about things getting stuck. To keep the picks and bars together I just wrap a rubber band around the whole assembly and got a cheap belt pouch to carry them in. Over all a 9/10 with no "okay, folks..." needed 😆
I've been carrying my keys and a couple of accessories in a Keysmart key holder for a couple of years now and I highly recommend it. Looking forward to buying this kit.

I like that the first exercise in dexterity with leisure picking is trying to get those screws in the slots on top without the spacers popping out. Under 10 tries! Nailed it.
I actually just picked up my first Key Smart a week ago for my keys and while it took a few days to get accustomed to using it, I am starting to like it now. I think this is a great platform for picks and I'll have to take a look at these again when they're in stock!

Just a tip on assembly - if you complete one side and aren't too steady lightly screw one of the screws into that side to hold it in place. Then complete the other side, add the other half and that sides screw (loosely) at an angle then undo the first side, swing the second half across and refit the screw, tighten both and you're good. This method means there is no time you need to hold more than one side so you always have a hand free to do screws while still holding the assembly. Looks like a great bit of kit. Just need to wait for it to be back in stock.
I've found that the knife tool is useful, not only for opening unshielded locks, but also scraping pocket lint out of your phone's charging port and audio jack.
True masterlock unlocking skills for LPL will be achieved when he waves a stick/wand and mutters alohomora. The masterlock then not only just unlocks but explodes
Wouldn't work with a copper grounding cage and an octiron core insert to disrupt spells cast upon the lock. At that stage you'd need to go back to leverage telekinesis to pry the pins and might as well just use a normal toolkit like any decent locksmith.
By far one of the coolest thing’s I have ever owned and yes the price is a little intimidating at first but I promise you will be instantly pleased after assembly
It’s arrived! And, first lock I tried was one I have ‘picked’ with 2 large paper clips and no real skill. I now know how and why, having popped it open in 2 seconds using a comb.... Each metal pick is very well finished, thank you.
Oh, I want one... I just got too late to the party... I would recommend adding a drop of blue loctite to those screws you just know they will back out.
What do you think about making a video for beginners, where you explain what all the tools (or the most important ones) in the covert companion are used for? I think it would be really interesting!

Quick note: What I received comes with long screws, and short screws.... You need to use the SHORT screws.... Which feels counter-intuitive, but with the long screws, you can't tighten it enough, and it will be very sloppy loose.... So, note that, when you go to put this together.... If you bring this video up, and keep pausing it, you should be able to do exactly what the LPL is doing.....
Today i got one for my father. And im happy becouse he is happy. BUT i paid 150 bucks for the ssf+expansion pack+scissors+screw driver+magnet. I had to pay 60 bucks in shipping cost. And now the postman asked me for another 45 bucks. Im in spain. So total is over 250 bucks door to door. And i realy realy find too much 60 bucks for shipping + 45 bucks in taxes. Its just mind blowing. With the tool im happy. Im a machinist my self and i can apreciate the quality of the manufacturing. If it wasnt becouse of those extra cost i talk about it would be a fair price of a nice tool.

After you stack the first group of tools you could temporarily put one of the short screws in the extender to keep the stack from accidentally spilling. Then when you have screwed the handle onto the second stack remove the screw from the first extender, place the handle over the stack and set the screw into position. I can picture myself fighting with the damn thing all morning long if I try to do it all at once like you are able to do.
I’m putting my Covert Companion together right now and this is the video i need. I put it all together and didn’t have enough spacers for one between all of them.

I went to the Sparrows website. The page says they'll be available in November with no specific date. Maybe you should bookmark that page since they are the ones selling the pick and that is a better source for info than random comments on youtube.

you could emboss the episode number where you show it's usage on every tool .. for trouble shooting :)

The comb was basically just a key, he didn't jiggle it or anything, just stuck the comb in and turned.

I like that the first exercise in dexterity with leisure picking is trying to get those screws in the slots on top without the spacers popping out. Under 10 tries! Nailed it.
This seems like an opportunity for master lock. They could save even more money by just including a comb pick instead of actually cutting a key.

I actually just picked up my first Key Smart a week ago for my keys and while it took a few days to get accustomed to using it, I am starting to like it now. I think this is a great platform for picks and I'll have to take a look at these again when they're in stock!

Just a tip on assembly - if you complete one side and aren't too steady lightly screw one of the screws into that side to hold it in place. Then complete the other side, add the other half and that sides screw (loosely) at an angle then undo the first side, swing the second half across and refit the screw, tighten both and you're good.
This method means there is no time you need to hold more than one side so you always have a hand free to do screws while still holding the assembly.
Looks like a great bit of kit. Just need to wait for it to be back in stock.

I've found that the knife tool is useful, not only for opening unshielded locks, but also scraping pocket lint out of your phone's charging port and audio jack.

True masterlock unlocking skills for LPL will be achieved when he waves a stick/wand and mutters alohomora. The masterlock then not only just unlocks but explodes
With LPL skill, casting Alohomora and waving the wand could actually take longer to open a lock.
Wouldn't work with a copper grounding cage and an octiron core insert to disrupt spells cast upon the lock. At that stage you'd need to go back to leverage telekinesis to pry the pins and might as well just use a normal toolkit like any decent locksmith.

It’s arrived! And, first lock I tried was one I have ‘picked’ with 2 large paper clips and no real skill.
I now know how and why, having popped it open in 2 seconds using a comb....

Oh, I want one... I just got too late to the party... I would recommend adding a drop of blue loctite to those screws you just know they will back out.
This is a good point, I think the screws on my OG keysmart came with patches of blue loctite on the screws
The grommet seems to keep it in place quite well.

Just received my kit today, before even assembling it I used the 4 pin comb for the known exploit of the Master 140. Worked like a charm!

The tools in the covert companion are just conventional picks and LPL had a ton of tutorials already

Quick note: What I received comes with long screws, and short screws.... You need to use the SHORT screws.... Which feels counter-intuitive, but with the long screws, you can't tighten it enough, and it will be very sloppy loose.... So, note that, when you go to put this together....
If you bring this video up, and keep pausing it, you should be able to do exactly what the LPL is doing.....

Today i got one for my father. And im happy becouse he is happy. BUT i paid 150 bucks for the ssf+expansion pack+scissors+screw driver+magnet. I had to pay 60 bucks in shipping cost. And now the postman asked me for another 45 bucks. Im in spain. So total is over 250 bucks door to door. And i realy realy find too much 60 bucks for shipping + 45 bucks in taxes. Its just mind blowing. With the tool im happy. Im a machinist my self and i can apreciate the quality of the manufacturing. If it wasnt becouse of those extra cost i talk about it would be a fair price of a nice tool.

It's the Swiss Army Knife of burglary tools.
After you stack the first group of tools you could temporarily put one of the short screws in the extender to keep the stack from accidentally spilling.
Then when you have screwed the handle onto the second stack remove the screw from the first extender, place the handle over the stack and set the screw into position.
I can picture myself fighting with the damn thing all morning long if I try to do it all at once like you are able to do.

I went to the Sparrows website. The page says they'll be available in November with no specific date. Maybe you should bookmark that page since they are the ones selling the pick and that is a better source for info than random comments on youtube.

Not sure if all the ads are being done intentionally on your channel, there was a time I never saw a single ad.. but recently I got an email from YT updating their ad policies. It seems they reserve the right to monetize whatever they want when they want. I would appreciate a confirmation if the channel here is not trying to push ads on purpose.
Aside from all that, I do appreciate the time taken here to demonstrate your new products assembly. Please continue to show companies not only how good products should be but all the other layers of things like what good support should be too.
