I love the discussion about the law.
I know ! It was very informative & intriguing ! I bet most of the listening audience learned a lot about the law too !
FINALLY!! Joe gets his rights violating a** handed to him!! Yes, "joe", you have to obey the law too!!! I've been watching/listening to "dragnet" since the early 60s. Joe needed a "dressing down"!!! That's ok, he can still push cigarettes on the unsuspecting. My lovely wife laughs at me every night, because I listen to this program, as I do my kitchen chores. Because I have a fit over rights violations. EXONERATED!!!! Lol
Good ol' Virginia Gregg, again. Jack Webb must've absolutely LOVED her & her work. She was all over the radio shows, the original TV show & the '67-'70 revival, plus the pilot TV movie (filmed in '66) for the revival. Miss Gregg also appeared in many episodes of CBS Radio Mystery Theater that ran from '74-'82.
She was also in a twilight Zone episode where she her husband and son and daughter were made to wear masks by her dying father
Great episode
I’m 23 years old almost 24 I grew up with my dad in the semi I grew up to dragnet gunsmoke all the old classics please keep posting these it brings me back to the good times with my dad
That’s an awesome story! What fun memories. I’m not too much older than you. I just turned 31 this year 😁
If you enjoy these shows check out the entire library in podcast form at otrpodcasts.com. I am adding more every month.
Well keep up the uploads man I am a big fan of these I listen to them at work at home hell even before bed haha
Wow! Most 23 year olds don't even know what a radio is!
Actually we have the IheartRadio app. So radio is a word that thankfully is still a living thing but it lives on in a mobile app.👍
Poor Frank always trying. Sounds like he whipped up some espresso hahaha . And Joe , the light weight 😎
“how else would a dame like that get here”?😂😂😂
Thank you for posting these episodes !!!!
I have a notion to second that emotion !
@@jubalcalif9100 Got the song in my head, now.👍🙂
Heavens to Murgatroid ! Had no idea that the radio version of "Dragnet" kept going after the TV series had begun to air ! I suppose it was that way for a lot of programs in the 1950s, when there were still lots of people who either did not have a TV set or did not yet have a station in their area . That must have kept Jack Webb & his production team VERY busy, producing both radio & TV versions of "Dragnet" each week ! In any case, thanks so much for sharing these wonderful "blasts from the past" with us ! CHEERS !! :-)
Original radio episodes ended on September 20, 1955, when Liggett & Myers pulled out of the series to concentrate on sponsoring the TV edition (and "GUNSMOKE" on radio and TV). However, repeats from previous seasons (1952-'54) continued to be heard [for various sponsors] on NBC radio from September 1955 through February 1957.
Ditto in the late 60s & 70s with the 2nd edition of Dragnet, Adam-12 & the start of Emergency !!
Mr. Webb was working on another edition of Dragnet around 1982 featuring Kent McCord as his partner (Harry Morgan was still involved with M*A*S*H during that time) when good ol' Jack Webb was taken by a massive heart attack... The 1987 Dragnet film was a good homage to all things Dragnet- Pep Streebek & Emil Muz, indeed. At the very least, ya had to smile at Dan Ackroyd's loving portrayal of Joe Friday....😎
@@craigfazekas3923 Well said and well put ! Though it got a bit silly at time, I did enjoy that '87 big screen version of "Dragnet" with Dan Ackyroyd & Tom Hanks, especially Dan's performance as Joe Friday's nephew. :-)

What this world needs today is a bit of Joe Friday- TO THE RESCUE !! 😎 For certainly, he'd set us on the right track these days....
Shoot, Jack Webb & Virginia Gregg together again ?!? (A bit of that HOTTIE, Jill Banner, featured in the '67-'70 run ? She wouldn't hurt, either....Although sadly, deceased too now for many a year. But she sent my heart a pitter-patter. Apparently, she sent Marlon Brando's heart aflutter, too. They were an item for several years.)
As I've gotten older, I really grew to dig Jack Webb's output and creative efforts more & more. I always liked his stuff, but increasingly so.
Did you know ?....
The Three Stooges did a short called, "Blunder Boys" that was an homage to Dragnet- I believe it is here on RUclips...
Also, so did Sesame Street. Here on RUclips, search -"SESAME STREET DRAGNET PARODY"- This was from the early '70s.
Check 'em out, I'm sure you'll like 'em both & enjoy !!🤪

Boy , what a game changer . And the guilty walks free 😳
No sense in getting a glass dirty . Straight from the eight bottle . Chug , chug , chug AHHHH🤤
😂😂😂 This is the BEST script ever!! 😂😂😂😂 Virgina Gregg is so good. 😂😂😂😂
Boy things just get better Joe . In Seattle 7/2020 you can have three grams or less of Heroin and not go to jail !!! Now that’s progress 😳 Joe and Frank would roll over in there grave ... progress ??? I do not think so 🙁 this IS the beginning of the END
And it’s now 8/2021… All drugs in Washington state are LEGAL !! Yes boys and girls ,Possession of Heroin meth and cocaine are non Arrestable offenses . Blake vs Washington state. Unbelievable.. yeah Joe and Frank would shake there heads in disbelief 😕
and now in 2023z you can have a OUNCE!!! of herion, meth or cocaine and the police can not take it from you !!! un fn believable…. how could a judge rule that 🤷🏼♂️It’s just plain evil
Too many criminals have rights now. Too bad victim's don't.
Aileen Wagner yes , this was the beginning of the end . Now in Seattle you can have three grams or less of heroin... and not be arrested.. 12/19 unbelievable 😲
Say man thank you
Chesterfields are best for you.
I figure your remark was a rib. My dad was a three pack a day Chesterfield man for years. He's dead now after having a quadruple bypass.
Best way to get lung cancer ?? :-(
But they satisfy 👍🏼
I thought that 4 out of 5 doctors smoked Camels?
The earlier commercials from around the 1950- shows claimed to have medical evidence they were harmless.
Well - Now, you have to have a warrant to search.
The cigarette ads. Cancer in a little package. I have known so many people who suffered badly and sometimes died as a result of a smoking habit. That's the way things were with nicotine in the 1960' s. No acknowledgement of health problems or addiction potential.
9,700 hits , 73 thumbs up and 28 comments ?? Where did you guys come from ?? This is three times the numbers from all the other shows .. Welcome 😎
Following you from the beginning to the finish line, all the comments you made back from episode 1. What a surprise ending to this saga!! 🤣
@@alexandergedeon409 thank you 👍🏼
Jack Webb is A Savage!!!
As heard on Tuesdays at 8:30pm(et).
Not dunned him!!! I wonder what that means? I keep hearing it in these old shows. Dunned em. Huh!
It is an old term not really used anymore. It means to make a demand of, usually a payment.
Dunning for money, for payment
"Put a smile in your smoking" 🚬 (cough cough choke cough 🤢 🤮) ...... and they are much milder! 🤣
Friday in this episode shows a lack of rule of law knowledge. If I were the DA I would have to him to “do your job.”
What was that commercial about accurate was crazy, I can’t find any info on this
poor guy has Post opiate depression.. best to lay off the booze..
Oh no, those drugs will be all over town, want a cup of coffee loaded with caffeine.
Funny their pushin' cigarettes that are as addictive as heroin. This show sounds like a lot of whining about having to follow the Fourth Amendment.
Zhu Bajie they're. not their.
“If they’re innocent, it’s just a little inconvenience”. Those “little inconveniences” are called harassment. They can cost people a job, by being late, they can cause all kinds of problems. It’s not the job of the innocent to tolerate guesswork from cops.
And now we have millions of people who are daily unlawfully seized and searched... daily, right this minute, with zero probable cause...at airports. There’s no excuse whatsoever to search and scan innocent travelers. No probable cause whatsoever. A determined person will get on board with something useful, and much is stolen and sold by a corrupt industry. The 3oz. rule is just harassment as well. And it’s no “little inconvenience”, either, the detainment and corruption done by TSA. Dogs are all that are required there. They don’t sexually assault people, even infants, like TSA does, nor do they plant evidence or steal property, nor do they irradiate people, regardless of how “low” the level. But then the corrupt airlines wouldn’t be able to pay off dogs to look the other way for certain travelers. They need humans for that. Otherwise, they’d just use dogs. They’re cheaper to use, and more efficient.
And the whole thing was set in place prior to the inside job that created that industry. Just like Hiroshima and Nagasaki...all the supplies and blueprints to rebuild, locked and loaded and ready to go the very next day...in areas supposedly hit with the biggest radiation ever. Nothing dodgy about all that, is there?
Was this stupid, incoherent statement of yours really necessary, you dolt?!? 😡😡😡😡😡
Miss Kim. There’s so much wrong with your statements I’m not taking the time to respond
Time for a new tin foil hat. The old one has worn thin, and is letting the gamma rays through.
@@tacoheadmakenzie9311 I don't have a tinfoil hat I have a tinfoil sombrero 😼😹😹
