- In this video, I will show the restoration of the USSR WW2 helmet. This model of helmet was SSH-36 used by Soviet forces at the beginning of World War II. This helmet has been in the ground for 75 years. This helmet I renovated to participate in military reconstructions.

The amount of care and craftsmanship that goes into these restorations is honestly inspiring. Thank you for always putting information in the description as well.
It still needs the red star decal. Good job👍🏻
Videos like these make me appreciate history even more, and those who save it.
Wow you do such a good job of restoring these items to it's former glory
You’re doing a really good job m8, don’t listen to people who say that you destroy these things, you just give them new lives, as a collector I respect this, please don’t stop
it was early in the morning and he walked into the town
I agree. In original condition, these items have no value. I mean it isn’t like this is the shorwell helmet.
Very good restoration. But where is the Red Star?
Love your videos. Keep up the great work
Lol your a soviet you would know that was a after market of the helmet
@@realityvlogs6413 you're right, but in the pre-war years there was a different Red Star emblem put on helmets like these, especially the SSH-36
I guess he decided to do this one without it cause he already did one with the star ruclips.net/video/YKBb-3O2Uog/видео.html
@@kaptainkrafter4130 what kind of red star like a ushanka red star pin sized star or something a lill bigger
Me: No way he can repair this
WWII Tube Restoration: Hold my beer
Nice! This is "Khalkhin Gol halmet" named by the Soviet-Japanese border conflicts in 1939
Nice restoration fella love to see how you've progressed on these restores getting better each time. Well done this was a great restores.

You should fill the holes and broken parts with brass.
It will look so cool.
U do some very good restorations. Keep up the good work👍👍
Excelente trabalho! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great restoration. Is the sandblaster new? It will make your restorations easier.
Noice video, keep it up, it's very entertaining
And it inspires to try find some old stuff
excellent!!!
Nicely done.
When you do the welding where does the new metal come from?
Another beauty
Another piece of history saved
Nice I like the SSH36, do you sell any of your projects?
Forgive the stupid question but I've never welded anything in my life. Is that tig or mig welding you do in order to fill the voids in the helmet? Superb restorations by the way 👍
This was so relaxing!
You may have restored it however I wonder if it's ballistic integrity is intake and that if one were to shoot it would it crumple in on itself like a man's torso after it's been shot through by a cannonball
Afterall you had to shave some layers off and weld stuff back together
Perhaps people who do helmet restorations should show them functioning afterwards
These helmets were not extremely effective against anything greater than a pistol cartridge even when they were in factory new condition, it would prove nothing if a ballistics test was conducted on a restored or original condition piece. Plus considering how rare good condition SSH-36’s are, it would be wrong to even consider doing a ballistics test on one.
it aint goin to war bud, its a neat display peice
Nice job
very fine work
Awesome! But it needs the red star... 😂
Your a very talented welder great job on the restoration
What do you do with these helmets after your done?
Really amazing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
COOL !!!!
Amazing job!
What typ of blasting media do you use? Sand, glass //Lars
Aluminum oxide P630
Glossy paint ral 6006 and matte varnish
Almost looks like an Adrian helmet from ww1
Where is the red star?
10:59 what solution did you use???
What country's helmut?
I wonder if you can do a de-storation, where you take a reproduction helmet, and try to simulate 70 years of damage and weathering in the shortest time possible.
Hammer, sandpaper, buzz saw, and thirty days submerged under saltwater should do it.
What color/shade is the paint?
Glossy paint ral 6006 and matte varnish
At first look i thought this was m1 helmet lol
Soviet union army Helmet ?!?

Congratulations you have a new subscriber... me!))))
Tnx man
Thanks for piece history...As for man, who was born in USSR this video is special for me...
There should also be a star on the forehead!
Nice helmet!
Nice, beautifull restauration!👍🍻🇱🇻
I don't understand why anyone would complain about a restoration like this. These helmets were manufactured in the tens of millions. Two steps, punch, and then stamp. Had this one stayed another 20 years in the ground it would have been nothing more than a reddish stain in the soil. As it was, it was good for nothing but the scrap bin. Now, it's a memorial to the young Soviet soldiers who were sent into the meat grinder, issued only one rifle for every two men, because one of them was sure to die almost instantly.
Very, very good!!!
Ok, I give up. What nationality is the helmet from? Hungry, or Romania? Enquiring minds want to know.
Reading a description bro ))) Soviet helmet.
I love your videos man!
In a world where originals are becoming difficult to find, and theres such a large amount of otherwise worthless relic condition helmets, as long as you know what you're doing, i think its a great thing to do, just dont do something dumb like r
Try to combine 2 helmet shells of different sizes, that would completely suck
Absolutely amazing restoration! Also, quick question but what green paint did you use for this and the SSH-39?
There are 2 ssh36 videos
I would love to see how the linings get made and fitted too, excellent restoration job.
Wow mate this is beutiful restauration God job
Good, but looks not complete without the red star
Wow 🤩 you are a big artist 👨🎨
Can you restore a m1 helmet next?
What kind of helmet is?
Can you someday make a Medic/Sanitäter helmet that would be nice
Edit: or some other kind of different German helmet
Good idea. I'll think about it.
@@wwiituberestoration1011 thanks
The hole in the side of that helmet looks like some one got shot in the dome cap!!!
I don't think so, it looks more like it was hit by a plough.
Great work! I have only one question; what's that paste that You are filling up holes in helmet?
possibly an aluminum based body filler?
Polyester (plastic) body filler.
