Watched video of that performance and it was so moving to see so many iconic talents joined together singing that beautiful song.. many are gone now, but what a privilege it was seeing them all on stage and so joyful.. and Abba leading and lighting the way . There are no more generous or talented 4 people on the planet.. thank you for sharing these sweet and lovely photos and rekindling fond memories.. 🙏♥️
Awww I know, Pat ,watching it is pure joy ❤...thank goodness we have all these things to watch over and over ...back in the 70s it was watch it once and try to keep it in yer head!! ...not long til Christmas now ..have a lovely time my friend ❤
January 9, 1979, Washington DC ABBA was the only artist invited to the UNICEF Concert from a non-English speaking country, and the only one from Continental Europe Each of the 10 artists sings a verse of a song of their own, the opening is by the Bee Gees with the chorus of "Children of the world" (1976) and the closing is by ABBA (in which all the artists join) singing the chorus of "He is your brother" (their second single from 1972) ABBA will premiere "Chiquitita" in the fifth turn and will sweep the Spanish-speaking markets In my country Argentina the concert could be seen and it marked a before and after for ABBA in Latin America I consider this performance of ABBA premiering "Chiquitita' for UNICEF as one of its Three Most Important along with "Waterloo" for Eurovision 1974 and "Dancing Queen" for the eve of the Wedding of the Kings of Sweden in 1976 Let us also remember that this is ABBA's first public appearance with Agnetha and Björn having already separated as a couple for only two weeks. Even in these difficult personal times, Agnetha looks very beautiful and gave a wonderful and moving introduction in her solo verse, and the rest together with Frida in absolute perfection of their vocal harmonies.
No they were living separately, but the divorce was finalised 10 days before filming The Winner Takes It All ...according to official sources ...Happy Christmas my friend 😊😊
ABBA donates all royalties from their song Chicquitita to UNICEF to this day and Frida is still a UNICEF ambassader
@Vikinggirl1679 yes that is wonderful 💯 ❤️
