It’s funny because Toriel hates him later for killing humans when she was essentially killing monsters.
I think it's because they didn't have Asriel yet. Having children can really change a person's perspective, as can suddenly losing them.
Not to mention Chara having an effect on them. One could argue that Asgore felt betrayed by Chara when Asriel got attacked during his time on the surface, as he would know the symptoms of buttercup poisoning, while Toriel felt that Asgore murdering any human that faced him meant that *he* was the one betraying *Chara,* rather than the other way around.
Well no I don't think so? The monster souls they were using were from monsters that had gone into coma and had no chance of ever waking up. They were essentially dead already. Monsters treat them like dead bodies normally.
Technically toriel is killing humans as well. She literally lets them walk to asgore, who she even says will kill them because she doesn’t want them to stay with her
She’s just as bad, if not worse, because she has the opportunity to just keep them from going, but she goes ahead and let’s them walk to their deaths
She is not, those monsters were going to die in a few days anyway, she is just leting Gaster try to make something useful of their deaths.
Toriel don't let the kids go autside the ruins because she donsn´t want them to stay whit her, she let them go because she know that she can't keep them against they will,(well, she could is she lock them in a room and never let them out, but that isn't any better) she tried to convince them to stay but they didn't. If she dosn´t want them to stay whit her, she would just let them ran away whitout saying a thing.
