      Unfortunetaly in indonesia, farmer just can earn at least 100-150 USD for a month.
      Compare to the avarage price of single M/T hilux pick up tire worth for 100 USD

    The most I I've ever known about rubber was the term. "rubber tree plant". Noal Farms is always fascinating and insightful

      Which one of these workers is named "God"? We should be thanking the actual people who harvest this rubber, instead of thanking someone who has nothing to do with it and who has never been seen by anybody

    Now that was very interesting and informative. Tree tappers must be skillful and precise in their timing and with their cutting tools. It leaves me to wonder who knew to tap a tree for latex in the first place.

      watch a documentary called Fordtopia, it is about a Ford trying to grow rubber in the Amazon. The first rubber was grown in the Amazon, English Whiteman stole seeds and transported them to asia, 70 viable rubber seeds kickedstarted rubber in Asia for the war.

      Malah mending indonesia daripada ini. Cara panen latex nya bikin ngeri karna kulit nya hampir abis sampe ke batang kayunya jadi nggak bisa tumbuh lagi itu kulit. Ibarat satu pohon nggak bisa ke bidang C dan D, pisau nya pun lebih bagus di indonesia kalo dibanding ini. Untuk pengolahan di pabrik pun di indonesia udah sangat-sangat bagus. Cuman kalahnya indonesia itu kadar karetnya doang dari hasil output pabriknya.

      Indonesia udah banyak pengolahan karet kayak gini di wilayah Sumatera, mungkin di kalimantan juga begini, malahan sekarang banyak pabrik yang hampir tutup, dan banyak kebun karet yang berganti kelapa sawit, karena harga karet yang murah.

    OMG....I can smell home and comforting familiarity. My dad owned 300 odd acres of rubber plantations and my childhood memories revolved around daily latex production and replanting of trees every 7 years. It is rather labour intensive......the tapping shown here is too slow...each worker needs to do about 3 to 4 acres of trees, so most of them would move at a vigorous pace. Miss the smell of natural rubber !!!

      @@rashmiseshan9312 Arrghhh...I wished!!! Daughters were excluded from the landed inheritance then. I never knew the difference of rich or poor as a young child. I did what the workers do ...lots of sweat. Then further studies took me away.

    Blown away again how so many industries are so dependent on Asia. South America and large portions of Africa are suitable for rubber production but the rubber production from those continent is tiny.

      I am a planter. We do grow a lot of rubber trees in south western state of India. Like Malaysia, we face the main challenge is increase labor cost, lack of farming and tapping staff, unsteady market price. Many are leaving this rubber plantation farming

    We,at Kerala, the rubber capital of India, coagulate the latex in standard trays & press them to sheets through a roller mill, sun dry to remove excess water content & further dry in a smoke chamber to produce high quality Ribbed Smoked Sheets.(RSS Grade). Bundle them to lots of 25kg & supply to industrial customers.😊😊

    The tapping knife is not good. You should use very sharp tapping knife to avoid damage of the cambium layer and you can get more latex from the rubber tree.

      Did you? Did you know how time suitable for tapping and weather? Do only judge from only theory? Make practically more when cool its make more milk. (milk=rubber latex, not scrap). Please more understand how struggle villages make money. Americans make too much fake industrial. So sad for Great country.

      Ammonia liquid, on my country they use knife stanles stell made from car exsober.

    We do have this kind of farm before here in the southern most of the Philippines during Sime Darby time. But sad to says, factory is now junked for many years.
