- This is part two of an epic wave sailing session at lower Kanaha Beach Park on the north shore of Maui, Hawaii. After taking a short break from my first session I head back out to indulge in some more tasty waves. Hope you enjoy this video! So happy to see you're back🎉
Love these videos
the first wave was sick!
Awesome! Felt like I was windsurfing again 🤙
kook kiters dropping in :( reminds me of that song,... 'go to the shopping mall and make fun of all the shoppers' :) nice vid as always - thanks!
Keep it going, really nice videos!
Best place (most fun place) on earth when uncrowded. .Sailed once till dark in early 1990’s,
Full moon rose, just enough light to see, kept sailing. Both jumping and riding. Kept sailing, two more hours, alone., Moonlight. Perfect 5.0, waves overhead. Dialed Perfection, just couldn’see perfectly. Dark enough couldn’t focus perfrctly. But Most fun ever at Kanaha. Knew little about sharks back then, but strong instinct not to fall! !!!
Can't wait for the evening sesh!
another great video. entertaining and funny as usual. keep it up!
loving the commentary 'catching the bus back upwind' 😆 - looks like a great day
Love your videos, watch them to relax after work 👍
I love these sessions Glenn! Great vid
Great sesh!
I needed those waves, almost feels like I was there, except I did not get wet or scared of being too late heading into a wave.
great camera work!! I miss Maui...
Cool channel man! How long between sets? Is it often surf sailing or there's good jumping too? Can you tell me about the choice between Hookipa and Kanaha?
On this day there was a lot of time between the sets... maybe 5 to 10 minutes. There are many days on Maui which are really good for jumping. There is a big difference between Ho'okipa and Kanaha. Kanaha typically has less powerful waves and no rocks so you don't have to worry when you fall. It is perfect for training your wave sailing skills. Ho'okipa is a very powerful wave and the rocks are always waiting to eat your gear. I like to say Ho'okipa is for Pros and Kanaha is for Bros:)
@@koav Cool thanks for explaining! Both have the same wind/wave direction? Are there videos from the shore of Kanaha worth watching? Happy sailing!
@@manuwindsurfing Both Kanaha and Ho'okipa receive the same swell direction but Kanaha sometimes has smaller waves because the swell is blocked by land features. It depends on the direction of the swell. The more west the swell direction the more the waves are blocked at Kanaha. They also mostly have the same wind but if the wind is really east Ho'okipa will still be windy while Kanaha might have none. Kanaha is a little too far off shore for filming from the land.
lovely, when will you give some lessons ?
Haha, I have never considered giving lessons. There are so many good wave sailors who do like Graham Ezzy, Levi Siver and Boujmaa just to name a few.
