I worked on this KHARG ISLAND for an Oil company named TOTAL for two years. It’s very strategic island where lots of Oil transported through this island, not only by Iran, but neighboring Iraq, Saudi and Kuwait. If by chance Israel attacks on this KHARG ISLAND, it’s also possibly that s the wells in that island will be put on fire. You all just can’t imagine the quantity of oil there on Kharg island. Very very high beyond your expectations.

Sri Iyer Saab, that is not the canal which is connecting east & west coasts ( ie Persian gulf & Red Sea) but a pipeline corridor which Saudi can use in case of any conflict in Persian gulf without affecting oil exports.
There are 3 pipelines across saudi east coast to West coast.
These 3 lines strategically laid on 3 different routes

That is over a thousand kilometers across deserts and mountains. However the Saudis have built OIL PIPELINES across Saudi Arabia from the Gulf to the Red Sea.

There could be pipelines from oil fields in Persian Gulf side to Port of Yanbu which is a big port in Red Sea side of RSA. During 7 years long war between Iran & Iraq, Saddam Hussain attacked this island many times and destroyed oil pipelines and some of the oil wells too. It’s really in a very strategic location with borders on one side Iraq, other side Saudi and Kuwait.
Mr Iyer, Venezuela, Russia and Iran are three of the world's largest producers of oil. All three are banned by the west from exporting their oil. There are sanctions against them. This means destroying the Kharg Island terminal may not push oil prices up to 'hundreds of US Dollars'. Even if Iran closes the Straits of Hormuz (which they cannot, they do not have the capacity) the Saudis can still export oil and gas through the Red Sea pipeline.
What will happen to Pakistan in case of full blown war.
