As a 72 year old player, where my reaction skills are not as good, I use it for alts - especially classes I find hard to master. And I have all classes with DPS. I don't Tank or Heal.
Wow playing the game at 72 years old is an achievement in its self hats off to ya having said that doesn't matter how old anyone is if you enjoy what you do then keep rocking it for sure
The problem is Blizzard keeps changing how each class is played so if you haven't played an alt for a couple of patches you can log on and have no idea how to play it, they have also made rotations way too complicated and the fights too complicated for average casual players let alone people that have disabilities are older or have suspect internet connections. This addon is not a bot, despite what was said in this video it cannot tell if you are single target of aoe it simply hits abilities on CD it cannot cope well with rotations that involve using one ability to buff another which in turn buffs another to achieve max dps, it can't do that. It also won't use any interupts stuns etc
So, just because you find it hard to master, you think you should be allowed to cheat? It's great that you're 72 years old and still play WoW, but this isn't the way the game should be played-it affects other players. If it were a single-player game, it would be entirely up to you. But let's say you beat a player who has spent time learning and mastering their class to some degree at least. Then here you come, outperforming them in damage simply because you can press one button. Sounds fair?
A better, more objective test would have been 5 minutes on a target dummy with and without the addon. It's still using your skills but takes out the variability of the dungeons.
I love hekili for learning new classes and stuff. Figuring out why it’s telling me to use x over x and stuff like that. I agree with you that this is more for farming solo content/leveling.
I agree if you are looking to learn a class Hekili is the way to go, but this is certainly a game changer for disabled people fore sure, or turning your brain off farming.
@@kikoredog Not really it depends on how you play. if you are droning it them maybe, if you are using it for temporary focus. not really. I'm a ret main, i don't have to think, I just feel and know my rotation,, and I use my HUD weakaura for all info I need. On my arms warrior, I use Hekili, but i've gotten to a point that I don't watch it as much, because I've gotten the feel and the rhythm down. Many times I'll even ignore Hekili's picks, because i'm holding back cds for a specific pull, or a part of a boss fight.
not ideal for new players. good for long term casual players. If you are new you will not improve in the slightest relying on this please dont use it if you are new
I just started playing WoW few days ago and I agree. It is VERY overwhelming, tons of skills, tons of stuff to memorize and I keep messing up rotatins, skill orders etc but if I use this, I will never learn the game. It is meant for people who ALREADY know how to play
A lot of new players will get scared off by the sheer amount of macros and many builds requiring like 4 different macros doing the same spell. Swings and roundabouts, there are several sides to both
My 6 yr old wanted to play with me and this made it fun for him... Because there is a lot of button bloat and his hands just aren't big enough to set-up and use keybinds
GSE is perfect for someone like me, a casual solo player with an alt army of every class, race, and spec who just wants to run gold farms, quests, and enjoy open world content without having to spend hours and hours testing new rotations on target dummies every time Blizz sends a new patch our way with "fixes." I set up each character with 2 "macro" keybinds, a DPS and Heals, then put my interrupts, CD's, and whatever else I want on the actionbar bound to my mouse's keypad. I use my mouse's software to autoclick 20 times at 250ms my DPS key so I only have to hit it once every 5 seconds or so. Now I can quickly do my weeklies/dailies on my 25+ characters without having to try and remember every rotation/CD/spell in the game.
I'm in the same boat with less alts. This allows me to have fun doing what I like and do it solo. I'm not topping dps chart but I didn't have to spend time learning all intricacies of every class.
I am 68 years old and have played WoW since vanilla. GSE is for me the only way these days I can play both my Main and Alts reasonably through mostly solo content, delves and followerdungeons without dying every 10 seconds. :) GSE is clumsy and doesn't make any difference between a lvl 81 elite and a lvl 3 pig... BUT.. I can still PLAY WoW. 👍 😁👍
@@bobrr33 lol I just re-read it and it does sound sarcastic. But I am serious. I am a keyboard enthusiast and love games where there's many buttons to press.
Works for me. I am the epitome of the hard-core casual. I play alot, but never min-max and couldn't care less for what other people think of me in this game. I do and play how I feel and how I want. I used "cast random" macros a long time ago for my rotation and they worked until blizzard basically banned them. So this is good...for people like me.
You can also customise the macros to have mods to cycle new spells and rotations. You can parse 90%+ once you understand how it works. If you pair this with something like razer synapse macros where with a click or hold button function to repeat the macro, it's essentially performs better than any average player could perform
It hits around 80% to 90%, depending on the class, of what a skilled player can do. It won't put you on top of the dps chart but it will keep you off the bottom. It is also important to remember these op skilled players are playing heavily modded games Weak Auras, DBM Big Wigs etc to do a lot of the thinking for them, if you want to condemn this addon as somehow cheating in a game that is non competitive then you should also condemn these guys
@@chrisharris1522 Other addons are supplements tho, GSE straight up plays the game for you with 1 button. Not exactly comparable. GSE is the closest you get to botting while still having to do something.
Thank you for the sequence review, I always wanted to see someone make a video so I can see how it works for others, I actually play the game at a level where I do require manual use. I use my sequence when my fingers start to hurt from my button mashing as a melee character, I 100% agree you will not get top numbers with any sequence as it cannot do a proper rotation all the time, even if you specify the proper sequence there are too many factors and the fact of how fast you press or HOLD your keybind, however it does great for it's intended purpose. I know a few people who would not play WoW if GSE did not exist, they do play up to heroic raiding but still on a very casual level and GSE has helped them, my uncle himself cannot feel his fingertips and has trouble knowing even where his resting fingers are on the keyboard, this very much helps him during his gameplay and even on some classes it actually has him wanting to learn them more using his mouse to click the spells, That's a huge improvement. There are tons of sequences even if mine do not fit your style, the website showcased here has many people's sequences for many classes. if interested I encourage you to try them all, this may even encourage you to investigate into classes you enjoy when you see sequences working differently on the same class and you may think "why are these two running differently for the same class" thus you investigate and start to learn more about GSE and your class spells. Thrilling stuff Great video!!!!!
In FF14's modding community, there's a plugin(addons for FF14) that does something similar. It basically works the same way. You press one button and it runs through the entire single target or AoE skill set for the class you play. In FF14, I see two use-cases for it: 1. You're showing off a class mod that changes how the skills look graphically. Examples of this being: A Paladin in FF can have its skills altered to look like skills from FF16's main character, or Ninja can have it changed to look like a true Rogue/Thief character. 2. You absolutely don't care about efficiency and just wanna do the thing and shut your brain off. For WoW, I would assume its number 2 for its use-case. By the sounds of it, the DPS loss is negligible when soloing, so then why not?
The fun thing is last expansion I was using this almost exclusively for my class and I was top dps all the time in my group, or at least in the top 3. You gotta tweak certain windows on the next press but it is possible to bring the DPS pretty in line with actually performing the rotation. Also a lot require the correct builds and stats.
Been using GSE for years, such a great addon for ppl who don't have full mobility or fast movement/memory for remembering what you have keybound, also the fact that you can have a Multi button and a Single target button is even better.
I would partially disagree with you because: if your keybinds are hard to remember, isnt that your fault not having a keybind setup that follows your personal logic? You dont need fast movement if you got propper keybinds imo; im playing the game for over 14 years now and good binds seperate the good from the bad players in a blink of an eye tbh - a good keybind layout will be one that even a friend of yours could play on and figure out what to do in no time (even if he is just pressing like 10 abilities maybe)
Really good idea and can be useful when learning a brand new class also seems like a really good addon for a mobile device when you want to level up while not at home.
I love how you said that. I have a child who is challenged, and this would help with their anxiety and frustrations. While we spam our own mental ability to max our dps, others can't focus or stress at the thought of a pvp match or end-game raiding, which I did both until this expansion. I might come back, but I was a progression raider turned arena player. Hopefully, I can check it out and see if my little one would like it, so we can level together and do some quests, As of now, they are frustrated with just dying to NPC's
Thanks for sharing. I'm 57 and I've been playing since BC. I had a stroke a few years ago ang can't use my left hand to game anymore but I still love WOW. I will defiantly have to try this.
GSE was so amazing in Legion, as prior to BFA, a lot of things could be stacked as instant casts, which helped. Bliz reworked them to use the internal cooldown instead so I stopped using it. I'll have to check it out again and see if the new talent system allows for that stacking again. ❤
This addon has been around for over a decade. It is not supper efficent but for casual gamers or thouse that have the need, it can help a lot. If you are looking for making remembering priorties easier with out using a one button macro, the addon hekili is nice.
As a realtively new player I am amazed how few players bind they're most spammed spell to mouse scroll. I got this from Kripparian like ages ago. It's just so much better than anything XD
If you are Mythic Raider, this is not for you outside some small use cases. For casual player who does not care about performing optimally, it is great addon.
Works well for learning mechanics on lower difficulties, as you can put more focus on mechanics of the dungeon/delve. It wont push high mythic+, because, as you've said, there is no autonomy, however, you can simply start choosing which abilities to "manually cast" slowly as the difficulty ramps up. I use the Protection Warrior 1 button macro. I looked into the in game macro code, I found out that I still choose when to interrupt / CC / charge / taunt / hit major defensives. That, in my opinion, makes more of a difference than how well I spam my rotational abilities.
Looks like a regular /castsequence macro. What it can't do is cast the most efficient rotation since the rotation has procs and sometimes you do something early to get the most out of it and then return to the rotation. Good for people who are disabled in some way though.
People talking about using it on a Target Dummy but that's actually going to give you the least accurate results of what this addon is practically capable of. Following a single target priority, with a set opener in controlled conditions, is something an addon like this can probably do quite well. It's when the situation becomes more and more complex, with unexpected variables changing like fight length, pack size, etc., that an understanding of your class makes the biggest difference. If you do use an addon like this, don't just leave it at that and stagnate. You're missing out on a big part of the game itself. Learning your class and applying it, and seeing the results of it, is fun; it's the game itself. You're giving that up likely because you're concerned about what other people think. And if it's giving you success you wouldn't otherwise have... is it really ~your~ success? What's the point? I'd suggest to just play with people at your skill level who don't care if you know your class while you learn it.
When it works, its nice. Like you said, I think it is also a good introduction to a new class for leveling etc. I think it is a pain to get working and keep it working. There are not very many sequence authors, so you're kind of locked in to that persons build if you happen to find a sequence for your class/spec. If you want to customize your spec, be ready to spend a long time getting your sequence to work properly. If you're changing specs a lot things will just randomly stop working. The sequences from lazy macros are sketchy and out-of-date often times because wow patches a lot and authors don't keep their sequences up-to-date. Also, the sequences from author to author often require specific steps to get it working properly and sometimes those steps are unclear or just inaccurate.
There are ways to get more out of GSE. Remove the big dps cooldowns from the sequence. Use them when appropriate. Lets say you're in a dungeon and the tank pulls 2 mobs, you blow all your stuff on those two mobs, and don't have anything up if the tank decides to pull big next. Use for abilities that you have to spam a lot anyway. I currently play prot warrior and I have to spam Shield Slam and Thunderclap all the time. By having those in the same button simplifies my life A LOT (I still have them on separate keybinds as well, for when outburst procs) Or for prot pallies, you could do the same for Judgement and Blessed hammer.
I've been looking all over for info on this, thank you for making this video, I'm getting up there in age (still playing my original character from Vanilla) I have severe nerve damage in my hands making my range of motion very slow and limited only being able to reach 1-4 reliably. I canceled my sub last month but I think I'll come back and give this a try, thank you again this gives me hope
I just started playing retail when MoP came out. Got decent with guardian druid but new i could get better at my rotation. Found GSE and my dps increased substantialy. I use the streamer feature in details so i can see the rotation it uses. I wont use GSE forever but its teaching me the proper rotation and help me learn when to use kicks and items. I use a moded version of the grizzly hermit sequence. Made my own sequence for buffs and heals as well. I enjoy it.
So perfect for me. I already have raided in every expansion with every class and damn near every spec. I know the rotations better than most. I'll check it out
if you already know your rotations better than most, this will likely be a dps loss to you. however if you struggle with other aspects like avoiding incoming damage hitting your interrupts etc then it might be helpful
best used for those of us with 60 alts that dont want to take the time to learn the rotation of specs that we dont care all that much about, or that are very complex and we dont main that class (im looking at you enhance)
I’ve had multiple top 5% logs on multiple specs in heroic and mythic raid since dragon flight whilst using hekili. I like to seperate the cooldowns from the rotation and you do need a fundamental understanding of the spec and how it works to cheese out when it’s saying something else. I’ve also had rank 1 heroic Sark log on feral Druid with this add on. I prefer using it as my screen is far less cluttered than having for instance luxthos weakaura packages all over the screen. I’ve also hit 3k or over on multiple dps tanks and healers with this add on every season since s1 dragonflight. It can deffo be good if you know how to abuse it but as stated it won’t go a long way to making you better unless you really know how to use it properly.
I've been using this addon for Mythic+ since Legion, and it's been fantastic. I recommend keeping your macros as simple as possible-just the core rotation without cooldowns. For example, my Retribution Paladin macro only includes three abilities: Judgment, Blade of Justice, and Hammer of Wrath.
To be fair, you can use this if you're learning your spec just to see the sequence of abilities go through. Some people find rotation guides a bit too complicated or too much to take in. You can use this for a couple of hours to get the hang of certain sequences, then try them in normal casts and go from there. It's basically learning from examples. Depends on the person's preferred way of learning.
If it takes into account your rotation and priorities, why would it NOT outperform? Using CDs soon as they are available with 5% left on trash mobs is wasted, compared to holding them for the next full health pack...but for regular abilities, shouldn't this actually outperform everything else, as it takes into account procs switching the priorities?
Would be good for say, healers. Just one button to do your DMG like disc priest. Then you can keep your eyes elsewhere on other CDs and team health and positioning. Especially in PvP. Can focus on healing then lol.
Never make your dps depend on an addon. What will you do, when it doesnt get updated, has errors etc? I advice people to use hekili. It works super-well with many specs that dont have outdated apl data. Our enhancement shaman used it to get into to the spec and has an average percentile of 98 in raid. BUT: still try to learn the spec. Use hekili as a crutch or simply an advice what you COULD press, but press abilities depending on the circumstances.
I mean if you have a dissability or are casual - then by all means do this and it seems cool! HOWEVER, do not use this if you want to do good numbers in raid or any end game. dont use it in a M+ over a +2 or heroic raid. You will never parse well or do enough damage to be taken and will hold your group back. Nobody does Normal dungeons after the first few weeks! Learn you class, dont be a clicker, use keybinds and macros and you will learn the game and enjoy it in the long term. Once you have complete control over your character, its like playing a piano and becomes a pleasure. Just do questing and low level while you learn the right way to play. My two cents as a long time player
I use gse as a way to kinda free up my hotbar space i use it on my guardian druid where i have it use mangle thrash swipe and barkskin on CD i know bear druid is easy but i just perfer to have the skills i need to keep on CD in one macro so i can focus on other parts of my rotation and have more space for utilities
I've not downloaded it yet but heard about this maybe 2-3 days ago. As someone who has had two amputated fingers on my mouse hand (dominate) this might make it easier for me to play the game and be a little more competitive. But not sure I would put myself in a Mythic / Normal or higher raid environment yet.
Gse is totally usable in M+ and raids. But requires you learn how to tweak the sequences. Most sequences are made for specific talent and Stat builds...and are designed for most people to just install and go. But with some tweaking some of the sequences can actually get you within 1-3% of what the sims say you should be at. Which is better than the vast majority of players who manually run their rotations.
why so much hate?! this addon (is not even an is just a string of macros) is for ppl that want to chill in low keys like 2s and 3s or so...maybe for a guildy carried in a normal raid...maybe for some of us that are to old to press 1231256 million keys....I'm the high end octane "3k+" iO player and for me,and others like me,this is pure garbage but not all WoW's player base is "up there"....according to statistics ,about 95-97% of us don't even KSM let alone KSH(that is for the first weeks of the season, not for the late seasons when gear is free and carry is free)...this addon if for "them" the 95%..it makes them happy..they can do they're +2 key...enjoy weekly vault...what is wrong with that?ppl that use this will never ever end up in a high key...and that is fine...why can't we be happy that this string of macros brings more players to WoW?
Its not against TOS as its effectively just a big macro, you have to keep pressing it for it to work, is really good for those wanting to learn ability prio for a class.
no it doesn't, you have to manage those yourself however it is a lot easier to hit those interrupts if you aren't focused on your dps. Ask yourself would you rather be doing a high M+ with a team mate that is doing amazing dps and missing interrupts and dying all the time or someone who is doing those things correctly and doing a little lower dps?
As someone with hand accessibility challenges, this has made it possible for me to enjoy the game again. I’ve noticed that certain sequences are significantly better than others. During Dragonflight, I was able to achieve Keystone Hero status and push beyond, reaching around a 2800 Mythic+ score, thanks to the more optimized sequences.
For the general population, this is annoying. I can only imagine pugs that do this and dont use interrupts and cc, etc. But for maybe handicapped or older players, I could see this being really accessable.
I love how the people in these comments think the game should be altered for them specifically instead of just finding a game that works for you. Instead you want to ruin what others love because your 11 month old can't use that many buttons...
It is ideal for this case scenario, even those occasions where your raid leader asks a healer to go dps for a particular encounter where they need less healers it will allow you to perform that role without embarrassing yourself
RUclips must know I was googling stuff on simple class rotations and recommended the video. I should try out this add-on. Been having more joint pain flare ups lately with the weather changing and would be great to use for those days. I will still tough it out on raid night, but for soloing lv. 8 delves for the vault and old content mount farms this would be amazing.
I’ve heard of this addon before but never put much weight into. However after the video i think i might give it a try for my son who wants to start playing wow. Might give him a better experience rather than dieing all the time 😅
Your video just appeared on my feed, first time seeing your content, personaly loved the video and the analysis, I'm someone that got in depth on macros because of FFXIV, but in wow they don't feel right somehow, also I'm still a newbie in wow, even though I play since Legion, and I though that an addon that does the rotation for me would be great, the thing is like you said, if I use this I will never learn what I'm doing, so thanks for the video I really needed it.
tried this. the dps diff is almost nothing, playing destro warlock is almost always super easy. the only major downside to my manual play is that i almost always forgot to activate my trinket and overcapping my soulstone. but to be fair, over capping is always a problem when we against big AOE boss like silk court
@@CatDad312or a w/a that shows it’s off cd etc. just something that lets you know what’s going on instead of blindly spamming 1,1,1,1,1,1 like a frost mage in molten core
Welll. I'm not disabled, I'm 33 YO, but I'm using it. Why? Because i play fking enh shaman, and I'm tired from spamming storm strike. So i let GSE do it for me, while also binding bolt/chaining/lava burst to combinations through GSE. For those who want to automate ur gameplay in high end content... It's possible, but you'll always be 10-15% behind in terms of DPS. Because no addon can react to every situation.
i used to raid mythic and trying to get back into it and tried one button for 3 classes and had like a dps loss of 60% i dont know if i did something wrong (not sure what tho since its just one button) but definitly not recommended for high level gameplay if you plan to just play casually sure go ahead its a lot more relaxing but if you plan to do harder difficulties learn your class watch guides etc i might be using it for some casual dungeons tho
instead of just doing casual content of regular dungeon and devles. If you should actually queue into Normal/Heroic Raids and Do M+ 7 or something to see the actual differences. just to have more concrete data and compare them. in that way, some folks can see if it is viable to go GSE route, or stick with rotation addons like Hekili or something.
I downloaded this and tried to set it up for a warlock. Streamers make like it’s so simple to do. I gave up because I couldn’t figure out what or where to dl the macros for warlock or any other spec I wanted to use. Please redo a video focused solely on how to do this
I messed around with it as a demon hunter, I'm better off playing without it. I seem to be much quicker by miles ahead at hitting my rotation than the addon is, tried multiple ones, they all feel super slow compared to just hitting my keys myself.
it isn't great for DH based on their stupid rotation, however a lot of havocs use similar macros to manage their burst window, these GSE macros will put blade dance on CD right before the burst which is very not optimal, it will also use eye beam on the boss right before he spawns his big wave of adds
Thanks for the video. I think it was really well done and refreshingly straight forward. If nothing else, this addon is good just to know what your rotation should be, approximately. I, personally, can use all the help I can get as things get complicated for me with rotations, talents, etc. I no longer have the fresh brain of a 22 year old gamer. So I will use the addon, but probably only so I have an in game list of recommendations for my various rotations and talent set ups. This is something that is severely lacking in the game itself and that is a travesty.
Been using GSE forever.. I got all chars at max level and I’m a casual dad gamer.. I like your video, but at the same time I don’t want too much focus on it.. don’t want blizzard to break it.
If the title is true, Blizzard is going to be looking hard at how they can nerf this. Btw, you could practically do this with macros. When my wife played for an expansion, I set up a bunch of macros for her and she was getting pretty respectable numbers on the dps meter in raid.
Guesss what. GSE is nothing but macros. Its a simple sequence of spells with no prio nor does it "read" how many stacks of whatever u have to make the spell hitting harder. It simply casts it when its called by the macro. Everything beyond that is called botting which is indeed not allowed. GSE is available since many many years. If u dont need it, dont use it.😀
This would work for something like Ret Paladin but definitely not Frost DK. Some classes you need to press certain spells at different times and wait for procs etc
100% agree, I imagine for the majority of classes it will be less dps due to no autonomy. It also burned some of my big cds that I’d save for big pulls or a boss on trash😂
There is one that works pretty well for Protection Warrior & Guardian Druid. By themselves, they have decent rage generation, they keep up Shield Block/Iron fur pretty well. It keeps the threat pretty good too. For a beginner, doing M0s LFR Questing and Delves. This is sufficient and does what it needs to.
It actually is pretty smart at waiting for procs to happen. It uses a priority system that places procs pretty high. But yeah there is times where it will use spells and cds that should be passed up. It's part of the reason it doesn't meet the TOS. All it is a collection of macros that get pressed when you push the button. The more times you press the button, the more the macros get pressed. Your rotation isn't guaranteed to go off. But the guys that make these are pretty good at building redundancies. People can automate it even further with certain mice. I have a razer and you can set it to press the same button 25 times a sec. All you do is hold down the button and it presses the macros. I have messed up nerves in my hands and playing with a mouse and keyboard had become too painful that I gave it up for awhile. Found this addon and it brought me back to wow. People that compete still have the advantage but it allows me to be useful in raids and dungeons
I am very worried that Blizzard will stop this - they did make them change how it works for War Within. It is literally the difference of me being able to play the game or not. I have been playing sicne 2005 but had to stop during shadowlands because of disability. I started playing at the end of Dragonflight when I found this
I liked it in dragonflight. One button doesnt work the same anymore with 3.2 and all the videos I watched are way to confusing. I'd like to play DPS but I just dont have the time to figure out the new layout of 3.2.
I might actually get this add-on to just have it around for casual content like a world quest if I, say, eat in front of the computer, or if I have a cat in my lap demanding attention of at least one of my hands. For any _real_ content, no, probably not a great idea, but I like the idea to not have to stop completely for easy content if I want to sip my coffee or whatever else.
seems you missed that you ping comes into account with you MS clicks also unless the pull are exactly the same there is no way to compare. the macro makes a difference also. so you would need to compare all the macro on the webpage. Also you would need to use the right build and play style that goes with the macros. saying this i agree with you using this addon is make you worse at WOW in a total. using it for mindless farming or just to make macros can be fun, i have used this addon with a hunter to boost 15-20M+ in dragon flight for gold. if you find the right macros and make the build correctly for the macro i have seen people on wow from casuals to long term players go from 80% of the usual dps to double, if you play wow and line up cooldowns with procs and trinkets you will get more dps but if you just hit keys for dps use this addon just make sure that you test what's good for you. Over all test this on target dummy's for a good length of time or to a damage point, then try your self i believe that most people on wow would do more dps and perform better in raids and m+ if they wasn't looking at there skill and just holding one button. allowing them to focused on positioning and using there CC and interrupts.
Using this is a net DPS loss overall. Learn proper rotations and understand why certain skills and abilities are used at specific times. Only then will you become a better player. This is basically just a long castsequence macro that might do OK under perfect conditions, but will break at the first sign of an anomaly.
GSE is for ppl with dissabilities and a lot of time the sequences u can find on lazymacro aren't really good, in a way if u understand how to make a sequence do that cause it will work better, GSE change a lot cause Blizzard change how macro works, I play with 1 hand and I have been using gse since bfa/shadowlands but now I don't use it cause first the sequences on lazymacro are from the beta and I don't understand how to make one with the new gse, but its a good addon if you have a dissability and can make a sequence or even find a good one
I can see this being a saving grace for people who have physical disabilities, missing limbs, etc but if your none of those pEople then this will only hinder you
As a 72 year old player, where my reaction skills are not as good, I use it for alts - especially classes I find hard to master. And I have all classes with DPS. I don't Tank or Heal.
Wow playing the game at 72 years old is an achievement in its self hats off to ya having said that doesn't matter how old anyone is if you enjoy what you do then keep rocking it for sure
i can't master alot of the classes either, alot of them i rely on Hekili to help me
The problem is Blizzard keeps changing how each class is played so if you haven't played an alt for a couple of patches you can log on and have no idea how to play it, they have also made rotations way too complicated and the fights too complicated for average casual players let alone people that have disabilities are older or have suspect internet connections.
@@XcSNIPERcX yep I use Hekili as well. Eventually you'll remember the rotation using this addin.
It's still using your skills but takes out the variability of the dungeons.
this
Agreed, there are way to many variables for this small data set to have any meaning.

I'm not topping dps chart but I didn't have to spend time learning all intricacies of every class.
yeah i dunno, i feel like learning all of that stuff is part of the fun
casual solo player followed by 25+ characters LOL
25 characters? Why?
you are not a casual player with 25+ chars....
I am 68 years old and have played WoW since vanilla.
GSE is for me the only way these days I can play both my Main and Alts reasonably through mostly solo content, delves and followerdungeons without dying every 10 seconds. :)
GSE is clumsy and doesn't make any difference between a lvl 81 elite and a lvl 3 pig... BUT.. I can still PLAY WoW. 👍 😁👍

What about a single target rotation on a training dummy? Delves and dungeons have variables, such as the size of the pack the tank is pulling.
in theory they awalys can provide you 2 buttons - single target and multiple target rotations
This could be a game changer for me as I’m a disabled gamer so thank you so much. What’s the most damage build for frost dk? Or even blood dk?
Thrilling stuff
Great video!!!!!
In FF14's modding community, there's a plugin(addons for FF14) that does something similar. It basically works the same way. You press one button and it runs through the entire single target or AoE skill set for the class you play. In FF14, I see two use-cases for it:
The day you woke up and checked your view count on this video and seen 80k, Excellent video by the way, very informative.
Agreed, definitely easy and helpful when picking up a new class, but you won’t learn much unless you have something to show the abilities being used
I love how you said that.
I will defiantly have to try this.
this addon is for you
GSE was so amazing in Legion, as prior to BFA, a lot of things could be stacked as instant casts, which helped.
I need to edit mine then bc the DK one uses my Interrupt the second it has a chance😂
Ran a few 10s using it on WW. Absolutely pumps
Why didn't you use a target dummy?
the real question is does it work for tanks and healers as well? can i use this to tank a raid or heal a raid or dungeon?
I would love for someone to go through collecting and reviewing a large quantity of data reference this.
By having those in the same button simplifies my life A LOT (I still have them on separate keybinds as well, for when outburst procs)
Or for prot pallies, you could do the same for Judgement and Blessed hammer.
Great Video! I love this add on especially for when I just want to farm and not worry about CD’s and rotation
Agreed, I’m currently spamming dungeons on my DH and using it so I can watch RUclips and turn brain off
I've been looking all over for info on this, thank you for making this video, I'm getting up there in age (still playing my original character from Vanilla) I have severe nerve damage in my hands making my range of motion very slow and limited only being able to reach 1-4 reliably. I canceled my sub last month but I think I'll come back and give this a try, thank you again this gives me hope
Reminds me of Paladin Assistant addon back in the day. Blizzard came down furiously after it became popular. 😂
GSE is not a new game changing addon. My friends have been using it for around 8-10 years. AI thumbnail is interesting though.
Completely random - but was your intro background Pachobel's Canon in D as 8bit or something like that??
I've not downloaded it yet but heard about this maybe 2-3 days ago. As someone who has had two amputated fingers on my mouse hand (dominate) this might make it easier for me to play the game and be a little more competitive. But not sure I would put myself in a Mythic / Normal or higher raid environment yet.
For sure, and depends on the class and which abilities u have bound for higher keys
Which is better than the vast majority of players who manually run their rotations.
i tryed it with my healer. so this addon and healbot. makes dps and healing so much easyer. you have more focus. so GG on that
Why not do your study using target dummies rather than dungeons/delvs which can be somewhat inconsistent
Is the music from wrath of nikodemus ?
why so much hate?! this addon (is not even an is just a string of macros) is for ppl that want to chill in low keys like 2s and 3s or so...maybe for a guildy carried in a normal raid...maybe for some of us that are to old to press 1231256 million keys....I'm the high end octane "3k+" iO player and for me,and others like me,this is pure garbage but not all WoW's player base is "up there"....according to statistics ,about 95-97% of us don't even KSM let alone KSH(that is for the first weeks of the season, not for the late seasons when gear is free and carry is free)...this addon if for "them" the 95%..it makes them happy..they can do they're +2 key...enjoy weekly vault...what is wrong with that?ppl that use this will never ever end up in a high key...and that is fine...why can't we be happy that this string of macros brings more players to WoW?
Its not against TOS as its effectively just a big macro, you have to keep pressing it for it to work, is really good for those wanting to learn ability prio for a class.
But does it use defensive CDs and heals as a dps and does it know when to interrupt?
no it doesn't, you have to manage those yourself however it is a lot easier to hit those interrupts if you aren't focused on your dps. Ask yourself would you rather be doing a high M+ with a team mate that is doing amazing dps and missing interrupts and dying all the time or someone who is doing those things correctly and doing a little lower dps?
I’m too new for this add on, but I’ll look back at this when I finally understand the game.
Use GSE For leveling and world content, hekili if you re in keys/raids
As someone with hand accessibility challenges, this has made it possible for me to enjoy the game again. I’ve noticed that certain sequences are significantly better than others. During Dragonflight, I was able to achieve Keystone Hero status and push beyond, reaching around a 2800 Mythic+ score, thanks to the more optimized sequences.
I Hope you had a third button for kicks
For the general population, this is annoying. I can only imagine pugs that do this and dont use interrupts and cc, etc. But for maybe handicapped or older players, I could see this being really accessable.
I love how the people in these comments think the game should be altered for them specifically instead of just finding a game that works for you. Instead you want to ruin what others love because your 11 month old can't use that many buttons...
How is that not ToS? I’ve always wanted situational/boolean macros to do rotations like that..
This would be perfect with the controller addon and a pc hooked up to the tv! Console WoW baby!
Love the background music.
I tank and heal on my druid but can't dps in any form so use this for questing/dailies and low m+ if a guildie wants to try something new.

Might give him a better experience rather than dieing all the time 😅
Thank you! My wife just started playing and she is not so good.....this will help her a ton!
Love to hear it, good luck you two!
if it sounds like a combat routine and looks like a CR WOW will find a way to make it against ToS/EULA.
I can’t see the upside because every fight is situational and unique, especially in open world leveling. Could lead you into an absolute nightmare.
tried this. the dps diff is almost nothing, playing destro warlock is almost always super easy. the only major downside to my manual play is that i almost always forgot to activate my trinket and overcapping my soulstone. but to be fair, over capping is always a problem when we against big AOE boss like silk court
I would recommend making a macro for your trinket with one of your cooldowns that it lines up with nicely

instead of just doing casual content of regular dungeon and devles. If you should actually queue into Normal/Heroic Raids and Do M+ 7 or something to see the actual differences. just to have more concrete data and compare them. in that way, some folks can see if it is viable to go GSE route, or stick with rotation addons like Hekili or something.
I've used GSE for a while. I have arthritis in my hand so badly only my thumb and index finger work.
This addon makes wow more accessible for me
Exactly, that’s what is impressive about this. It makes the game more accessible
I downloaded this and tried to set it up for a warlock. Streamers make like it’s so simple to do. I gave up because I couldn’t figure out what or where to dl the macros for warlock or any other spec I wanted to use. Please redo a video focused solely on how to do this
Issue with 1 button maceos/add-ons they don't know when to hold off on skills when you need to do say a big dps burst window
@@chrisharris1522 If anything, this addon gave me some ideas, I made some sequence macros that work really well. I wish I had known this long ago.
I use this addon for a month and its pretty amazing. not perfect, not totally one button smash but it works great.
I would probably try this as a one button DPS on a healer when you have downtime
All well knowing your rotation but getting mythic+ groups this xpac is something else
When my wife played for an expansion, I set up a bunch of macros for her and she was getting pretty respectable numbers on the dps meter in raid.
blizzard will do jack shit. smol indy company
@@Eymbak i use 1 button on frost dk and 2k rating, out dps people 90% of my dungeons, even if they are higher gearscore
Also this addon has been around since legion I think. the creators built it with the TOS in mind.
I am very worried that Blizzard will stop this - they did make them change how it works for War Within. It is literally the difference of me being able to play the game or not. I have been playing sicne 2005 but had to stop during shadowlands because of disability. I started playing at the end of Dragonflight when I found this
GSE exists more then 10 years. it will stay another 10, maybe. no need to worry. :>
I liked it in dragonflight. One button doesnt work the same anymore with 3.2 and all the videos I watched are way to confusing. I'd like to play DPS but I just dont have the time to figure out the new layout of 3.2.
"New."
It's been around for like a decade but sure.
I might actually get this add-on to just have it around for casual content like a world quest if I, say, eat in front of the computer, or if I have a cat in my lap demanding attention of at least one of my hands. For any _real_ content, no, probably not a great idea, but I like the idea to not have to stop completely for easy content if I want to sip my coffee or whatever else.
it doesn't think for you, it might keep your damage going while you attend to your cat's attention needs but you will still eat that frontal cone
seems you missed that you ping comes into account with you MS clicks also unless the pull are exactly the same there is no way to compare. the macro makes a difference also. so you would need to compare all the macro on the webpage.
I use it from cata Real version in the past. It more for casual people.
Does it work on classic?
this is a game changer for chill steam deck gameplay
Oh this is how Paladins were since classic. You smash your head against keyboard and kill everything in front of you
Using this is a net DPS loss overall.
I've been doing 1 button macro on heroic and mythic in the new raid. And getting top 5 dps
I can see this being a saving grace for people who have physical disabilities, missing limbs, etc but if your none of those pEople then this will only hinder you
