I remember watching a behind the scenes making off feature on T4 (anyone from the UK remember T4, brilliant hangover telly!) Anyway the girls were sure that because it was the theme song for the movie The Beach that they would be flown to some far flung beautiful destination. How wrong could they be...the video was shot in Norwich and even worse at night! The girls said it's freezing cold and wet. That is why they are wearing so many jumpers and coats. The idea for the video is that they are supposed to be witches! Haha 😂😂 🎶🎶❤️❤️
They have released quite a few very good songs. Black coffee is another single which really deserves a reaction. William Orbit produced Pure Shores and I think he wanted to give it a bit of Madonna’s Frozen vibe to it… 😂
You're right, this song was a part of a movie soundtrack. 'The Beach' (2000, dir. by legendary Danny Boyle and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tilda Swinton and Guillaume Canet). When that movie came out, the song was everywhere.
Yay love me some All Saints!!! Happy to see them on the channel. "Pure Shores" was the lead single for The Beach: Motion Picture Soundtrack and their second album, Saints & Sinners (2000). It debuted at #1 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the group's fourth chart-topper. Please react to All Saints - "I Know Where It's At," "Never Ever," "Under the Bridge," and "Lady Marmalade."
yes it was Leo you saw the track was used for one of his movies. The great thing about All Saints is Shaznay (the black lady) co wrote most of their songs, if not all apart from the couple of covers they did. Try songs Never Ever, I know where it's at, Bootle Call, Black Coffee, They did good covers of Under the Bridge and Lady Marmalade xx
Such a huge track in the year 2000 - yes, it was on the soundtrack for the Leo DiCaprio movie 'THE BEACH' ⛱ hence the lyrics "Take me to my beach!" Yes, honey 🍯 take me to your beach 😎
They were good ..... I think 'Never Ever' was their best song and is the 3rd biggest selling girl group single in UK history behind Wannabe by the Spice Girl and 'Shout Out To My Ex' by Little Mix. Melanie Blatt was gorgeous !
This was used to promote the movie The Beach with young Leo. Did you know also that the producer William Orbit worked on this as well as Madonna's version of the song 'American Pie', Beautiful Stanger' and 'Frozen'?? Little fact for you there.
From the magic of William Orbit as producer. He produced Madonna’s Ray Of Light in its entirety as well as a handful of tracks on her Music album. That may be why you can hear Madonna’s Substitute For Love in this song. He has a definite style to his production and it makes this song so rich. His own work is mostly instrumental but he also partners with Beth Orton a lot. Well worth checking out. Maybe “Water From A Vine Leaf”.
This song alluded me for decades. I grew up as a young child hearing this all over the radio and wanted to find out what it was as an adolescent just before GTA V was released. It has that distinctive synth sound that was stuck in my head and that's all I had to go off of. Then GTA V was released and to my surprise, the song is on the radio in that game.
How did I miss this?? My favourite song! From 'The Beach' soundtrack with Leo DiCaprio & produced by William Orbit who also produced Madonna's 'Ray of Light' album!
This song was actually written and produced by William Orbit, the guy who also co-wrote and co-produced Madonna's "Ray of Light" album. I would really love to see you react to "All Hooked Up" or "Rock Steady" next. Two fantastic songs. Also their version of Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Under the Bridge" is not to be missed.
Wow I was just thinking about suggesting to you to react to All Saints after watching your Atomic Kitten video yesterday! Black Coffee is another amazing single by All Saints from the same album as Pure Shores. Also, love to see more Girls Aloud and Sugababes! Thanks for all your cool reactions! :)
This was the biggest selling song of 2000 in the UK (well, technically Bob the Builder Can You Fix It was, but that was released in literally the last week of the year at Christmas, but this was released in February 2000 so it basically was the biggest song of the year lol)
So the movie clips are from The Beach - a film set in a gorgeous tropical island (I think it was Thailand)...and the music video with All Saints was shot on a beach in England in the middle of winter, LOL.
LOVE All Saints. Check out "Rock Steady", "Never Ever", "Lady Marmalade" and "Black Coffee". They were marketed as the antithesis of Spice Girls. Fun fact - this song was produced by William Orbit and Madonna was said to not be too happy about the fact he worked with the girls on this track
This, their debut single "Never Ever" and "Black Coffee" are my All Saints top 3. You should also check out their cover of "Under The Bridge" and "I Know Where It's At". And for a more R&B 90's UK girl group, definitely check out Eternal.
They were kind of viewed as the cool alternative to the Spice Girls here in the UK back in the day. They had some cracking tunes, Black Coffee being my personal fav.
I love All Saints. Please check out Never Ever, Black Coffee, Booty Call and I Know Where It's At. Robbie Williams and Nicole Appleton were engaged to be married at one point! Sadly they split after she was put under pressure to abort their baby by her record company 😭
Love All Saints. This song and Black Coffee both produced by William Orbit (Madonna ROL fame) There are so many great All Saints tracks to choose from. I will post a list of my faves.
William Orbit also produced Madonna's album "Ray Of Light" - you find those cosmic bleep sounds very obviously in songs like "Frozen" and "The Power Of Goodbye" 😊
All Saints were very talented & really had their own unique style. Groundbreaking for the 90s. They were never going to fit into the ‘typical’ girl band image. You should check out Black Coffee, Never Ever, I Know Where It’s At , Under The Bridge, Lady Marmalade, Rock Steady and One Strike.
Sorry to bang on about this group but All Saints' two most recent albums are SO good. Their soundscapes are so unique. Shaznay Lewis doesn't get enough credit as a songwriter.
I think there's a story about this song as Madonna getting mad because the producer didn't think of her first. This was circa her ray or flight era which the producer of this song was in charge of. You should check "Black coffee" It is my fave song from them. Greetings from Chicago!
Even though I knew this song before the game was released, every time I hear it now I think of the early (more innocent) days of GTA Online. A great track!
Yep, you are right, that was a much younger Leonardo DiCaprio in the video taken from the movie The Beach. The song is produced by William Orbit who also produced Madonna's Ray of Light. This song isn't really indicative I'd say of All Saints, but I think does show their talents and versatility. You should definitely dig a little deeper.
Best girl band rivals of the spice girls 😂. The r&b was big in the 90s. I've been a big fan of the all saints since the 90s there music is my jam. I've seen them live a few times and they are fantastic. Last time I saw the ladys live was at takethats wonderland tour. My 2 favourites in one stadium it was brilliant. You may also recognise this track from the movie the beach staring Leonardo da caprio 🥰 Also check out another big track of there's called never ever that's song slaps 😊 Also check out I know where it's at another brilliant song.
This was the main track in the Leo Di Caprio and Danny Boyle film The Beach I think that they were managed and produced by Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) Their first big breakthrough tune was probably I Know Where It’s At (I’m not a big pop fan, much prefer House Music, Techno, Electro and the MADCHESTER era (Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, The Charlatans amongst others)) But I did always have a soft spot for them
Same producer of Madonna Ray of light …William Orbit ….my favourite All saints song ….video is weird as they tried to link to film “ The beach” was a UK number one and a massive hit over here ….
*Slides into frame like Ryan Reynolds with a smirk* So uhm,I held theese ladies above Spice Girls back in the day😏I crushed on Melanie Blatt as a wild youngster, and when the sisters Nicole and Natalie Appleton joined,it was triple trouble at least for me😳Jokes aside,i felt like theyr voices were more to my liking and they sounded and seemed more matured then theyr fellow sister bands out there. This music video is trippy for a reason,it was the main soundtrack for The Beach with Leonardo Di Caprio and Virginie Ledoyen with others. Leonardos character trips out alot in that movie😂
Yes that was Leo and Tilda Swinton from the beach. All saints was the alternative to the spice girls. Their outfits were usually big boots baggy combats and tight vest tops. They were made up of Londoners Melanie blatt (the first singer usually lead)shazney Lewis(the second singer) who wrote most of the songs and American sisters Nicole and Natalie Appleton. Try their first single that got them noticed.never ever.when looking for the right video you want the UK version official video as that's the one we were introduced to them with. Please more steps.
Check out One Woman Man one of their more recent tracks and classic All Saints harmonies and sounds, fabulous song. Love your channel and reactions 😊❤ x
This song was used in the movie The Beach with Leonardo Di Caprio
Had the biggest crush on Leo in this movie
Pure shores. My most favourite track they made. So beautifully sung and catchy too
I remember watching a behind the scenes making off feature on T4 (anyone from the UK remember T4, brilliant hangover telly!)

The idea for the video is that they are supposed to be witches! Haha 😂😂
🎶🎶❤️❤️
@@robertfraser9873 I remember T4 back in the days hosted by June Sarpong & Vernon Kay
They have released quite a few very good songs. Black coffee is another single which really deserves a reaction. William Orbit produced Pure Shores and I think he wanted to give it a bit of Madonna’s Frozen vibe to it… 😂
They recently reunited, and their single “One strike” is simply 👌🏾
You're right, this song was a part of a movie soundtrack. 'The Beach' (2000, dir. by legendary Danny Boyle and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tilda Swinton and Guillaume Canet). When that movie came out, the song was everywhere.

I was lucky to see All Saints live a couple of times in 2017 and they were phenomenal. They have so many gems in their discography.
My all time favourite All Saints track. Same producer that did Madonna Ray of light album.
yes it was Leo you saw the track was used for one of his movies. The Beach!
I would love for you to discover Anastacia, she is such a big diva in Europe and Australia! AMAZING voice. You won't be disapointed
Such a huge track in the year 2000 - yes, it was on the soundtrack for the Leo DiCaprio movie 'THE BEACH' ⛱ hence the lyrics "Take me to my beach!" Yes, honey 🍯 take me to your beach 😎
one of the best pop songs EVER in my opinion. the production is sooo ethereal and beautiful

this is always a high spot of their live shows with the whole audience singing along (including me)
This song alluded me for decades. I grew up as a young child hearing this all over the radio and wanted to find out what it was as an adolescent just before GTA V was released. One of the group (Nicole) dated Robbie Williams for a while - they were proper 90s pop royalty.
I first heard this song on GTA 5 and it's been in my head since...
They weren’t as big as the spice girls but they were massive here in the UK back in the day. Some great songs from them too

Wow Brough my teen yrs back to me. Listen to never ever. Everyone over 30 grew up knowing all thr words to the song really catchy ❤❤❤
So the movie clips are from The Beach - a film set in a gorgeous tropical island (I think it was Thailand)...and the music video with All Saints was shot on a beach in England in the middle of winter, LOL.
😂
Ah this is such a vibe. Very much of it's time but it just draws all those memories back nicely ❤Nice one PMD !

As other people have said, William Orbit production is incredibly good!
They were kind of viewed as the cool alternative to the Spice Girls here in the UK back in the day. They had some cracking tunes, Black Coffee being my personal fav.

William Orbit! What he did with Madonna's Album Ray of Light is a thing of Beauty!!
Also it is William Orbit! Your hear the similar vibes in Madonna's Ray of light album of 1998
My favourite one is Black Coffee, I love that song so much, it makes me feel alive!
Love All Saints. This song and Black Coffee both produced by William Orbit (Madonna ROL fame) There are so many great All Saints tracks to choose from. I will post a list of my faves.

Sorry to bang on about this group but All Saints' two most recent albums are SO good. Their soundscapes are so unique. Shaznay Lewis doesn't get enough credit as a songwriter.
So influential, they managed to get Leo DiCaprio and Tilda Sinton to cameo in their music video.
😂
William Orbit in fine form as are the band. From one of my favourite films (and books). Much underrated movie.
This song is a 90s classic. Thanks for reacting and reminding.
