I have heard someone say once "either you have an appointment with a bird or you don't". I love that saying because it describes how on some days you just simply encounter elusive birds or their behaviour which you have wished to see for years. And on other days even though the conditions are perfect there is hardly a bird in sight. It is this uncertainty which adds the spice to birdwatching. The people who spotted this rare bird had one of those incredible days we all wish for 😎👍
