Thanks for making the video. I just became aware of this kit and I'm thinking of adding it to my two Sparks. I cheaped out and didn't get the IBR option when I bought mine and now I wished I had. Glad they have something for us that didn't do it originally
Thank you for doing this video. Yesterday I finished installing the reverse rkit and only with the supplied manual would be many doubts still. Your video explained everything. Thank you for this initiative to show how to do it yourself. I love it.
Great video I just did the install.. bought the kit online.. Did you have any extra parts when you were finished? I have about 6 gold nuts left and 3 hex bolts that have free paint on them... the 6 yellow pain hex bolts I used on bucket but I can’t figure out where these 3 other ones go?
Joseph, so are your sparks 2015 or 2014? I have two 2015's and gonna attemp to install the manual reverse. Im just wondering if I have to remove all the parts you did. The instructions didn't say to remove that much. I dont wanna crack something open and then find myself with a torn apart ski. Thanks for the video!!! I'm sure it will help me.
Eric Lewis These are 2014's. Not sure if the install will be different. Mine install kit didn't come with much for instructions, so I just googled it and used a couple different peoples suggestions for the install since it was so new. If I were you, I would just follow your instructions, and then if you have any hangups or prior to install, you could watch back and review the video for the certain parts you come to. Hope it helps! Blessings!
so you did your own handlebar reinstall since you were in there anyway? 4 months in miami and still waiting for recall handle bars to come in. cool vid
No sir. The day I finished the reverse kit install, the handlebars snapped when we were out on the water, so I took them both in to the shop and had them do the recalled Handlebar swap on both Sparks. Thanks!
Have you called around to other shops? It's possible, they aren't too excited about having to do warranty work and are stalling. Especially if they are already busy doing a lot of service work, since they make a lot more on service work compared to warranty work.
Sarah Dell We've put almost a 100 hours on them in the first year and not much problems yet and we take them out into the surf to jump waves over your head almost every time they've been out (broke the handlebars on one oh them but that was recalled and was fixed on both)... What problems did you have with yours?
Joseph Hamblen Various issues, and dealing with BRP was a nightmare. Couldn't stand owning a product from a company with terrible customer service. It was in the dealer four times during this summer........
Took both ours in for recall and had no problems whatsoever... they even covered a part that wasn't probably actually covered by warranty. Sorry you had bad experience, but i love them and we beat them up pretty good on the ocean surf!
+nz rockdj if you provide an email address I can send you every invoice. It had 5 major issues, and one fuel sensor replacement and one plastic panel that wasn't what I would consider major. To update this, brp stepped up to the plate in the end. Someone else from brp got invoked, and I own another spark. It's also had minor issues, but they have been corrected every time. It's a fun machine.
That's a bummer. I bought two about 5 years ago, a left over 15 and a new 16. Only have about 75 hours on each but have had exactly zero issues. Haven't done anything to them yet except oil changes.

Hi. I have the same problem. Do you have a solution? 😊

your pump housing. they want you to replace them. they are a "one time use" bolt
Hey just wondering is the reverse lever hard to push down on yours too?
Yes if your not moving in the water

The Sparks are such junk, I just sold mine after almost a year of continued headaches. Disappointing
