80s funk but released in 1975
Thats how ahead they were
Sorry for loss on grandpa 🙏 hope you get better soon ,new viewer love roxy music avalon best one
Roxy is awesome, but only their first 5 albums are true Roxy albums. They broke up, but reformed a few years later. After they reformed, the band sort of just became Bryan Ferry’s back up band as he moved toward a solo career. I’d recommend pajamarama, editions of you, in every Dream home a heartache, mother of Pearl (my personal favorite), both ends burning, the thrill of it all, that’ll get you started. Roxy’s first two albums were the pinnacle of their avant-garde work because of Brian Eno. After he left, their sound changed. Still great stuff, but they never recaptured the exotic sounds of their earlier work. If you want your mind blown, try Eno’s first solo album, especially Baby’s on fire…
So sorry to hear about your troubles, God bless you.
The first two LPs with Brian Eno.
This song is from 1976~
You reacted to a small part of the song? You have to react to the entire song again to regain credibility. You know that..?
React sharma boy songs plz girl
Bryan Ferry and his dreaded coke spoon in the eye injury...lol
Your observations are bang on. The song was from 1975 but you rightly said that it sounded like 1980s funk - Roxy were always ahead of the curve and their chart positions often reflected that. The bands that rode on the coat tails often had greater single success, if not album success.
I know you loved Ladytron - you'd probably like everything from the first two albums when they were still "space age" aliens.
Most of my favourite tracks are from the middle period - try Amazona from Stranded, Prairie Rose from Country Life and Sentimental Fool from Siren.
One of the most original and innovative bands of the 70's for sure...
I love that you are listening to so much Roxy Music. Please try "Grey Lagoons" soon. Or maybe "If There is Something" (more "alien" music)...sorry to hear about your Grandpa.
The video ended the before the song ended.... the lead singer, Bryan Ferry got into trouble for his manner of dress in this video. Many people thought it was similar to the Nazi uniforms from World War II Bryan was on record as saying that the Nazis were horrible people but they had great style
Grey Lagoons. Definitely a favorite.
This sounded different to the first two you reacted to because it was 4 years later, Roxy were always evolving, and singer Bryan Ferry had an eye infection at the time.
The two songs you liked were from the first album. You can’t go wrong with any songs from the first two albums (Roxy Music and For Your Pleasure).
Some suggestions: “Re-Make/Re-Model”, “If there is Something”, “Do the Strand”, “Beauty Queen”, “Editions of You”, “All I Want is You”
I love their stuff from the early '70s the most - Mother of Pearl is amazing!
It sounds like early 80s but it’s mid 1970s. So far ahead of their time. Influential.
You should really listen to If There Is Something by Roxy Music. That one is incredible. I completely feel where you are coming from on this song too; I'm a huge Roxy Music fan and I honestly find this to be one of their worst songs.
Also, he had recently had eye surgery.
the fathers of New Wave
Listen to them live at the empire pool wembley 1975, its on here.
Chin up "Sweet girl!" Greetings from Yorkshire England. Take care. John.x
Yes, they chopped the song badly for the video.
Yes the trombone keyboard bass sound is nice.
🙄
It was a short video. Try Beauty Queen from For Your Pleasure. Sounds like the future still, and the past at the same time.
You have to admit the Carisma just ooooooozes out of bryan ferry ....a cross between elvis and Freddie Mercury:)
I was in ninth grade when this came out my brother turned me onto Roxy music
Good to have u back on RUclips amigis 😊🙏🏻💜
I am from somalia 🇸🇴🇸🇴
Listen to this song on the Great Gatsby soundtrack. It's my favorite!! It's more 1920s crooner based, which I love.
Great stuff. This is what we consumed in the mid 70's. It was air. It made us feel like we knew something, a dimension
of life that our parents were oblivious to.
It was arousal! We should have been embarrassed, but we weren't. Women would be flippin, guys trippin! We'd come
together on the dance floor and nobody would judge. They wouldn't even say, "get a room"! They'd merely make room.
Reaction I would suggest would be "Beauty Queen" from the album , " For Your Pleasure" , always go with the studio version and not the live version
From the same album as this, try Sentimental Fool.It has a lot more of that sound you liked in the other songs.
Макс Фадеев- Тихо несет вода! 👌
Not sure why the video was cut off so early.
Leave it to Bryan Ferry to turn an eye injury into a fashion statement!
Wow... Hello. My condolences for your grandfather....
