Man, I'm 19, about to be 20 soon and this was literally my childhood growing up. I'll never forget even playing this on the PS1. How time flies. Sad to see Disney don't make movies like these anymore. This is the song of my life, literally, and the soundtrack. The lyrics and everything, always bring tears too me espically with the powerful messages, and all I've been through. Phil Collins, my all time favorite legend, the guy who helped me throughout my life.
He crooned for us ! He vibrated his oesophagus and vocal chords at simply the perfect pitch ! And words that simply strikes the soul and heart ! What a masterpiece of human biology and spiritual greatness !! Simply wowsers !!
I am 35, I remember when I first saw Tarzan in a cinéma. I was a little bit old, no one to go with, but this soundtrack ( that Phil Collins sang beautifully in French) moved me so much. Today, as an adopted who doesnt know about his roots, the lyrics make more sense and I get why I was so touched then. Thank you Phil Collins, hope you rest in peace and beautiful music.
Him standing down from performing just within the last few days (?) because of his health immediately made me think of this song. He has and always will be one of the best.
Phil Collins is SOMETHING ELSE!! Adored him as a Disney singer for over two decades now...Tarzan and Jane are my favorite Disney couple and two of my favorite Disney CHARACTERS:) If only Jane had been the nanny and tutor to Ariel's daughter Melody, my life would be complete;)
You know... if you really think about it, this song isn't just about one man. It's about everyone, we are so far spread apart and yet we see fit to divide ourselves when we could learn so much from each other. Just a though from a college kid near midnight.
Even among family we're still strangers. I mean think about it, how well do we really know our supposed "family members"? Yeah sure we talk and tell stories, but how well do we know each other really? I don't REALLY know any of them at all. It's kinda sad, really.
This song just lets me think of my future and my past. My past, because it reminds me of the moment I learned something big about myself. I've always been a quiet, reserved guy. I loved just spending hours in silence, looking at the world around me and thinking of many things. But people made me think I was weird, and I had to be loud and outgoing like them. Then I began reading about introverts and extroverts, and finally, I felt at home. Finally, I felt that I wasn't so weird after all. I was just different. But the song also makes me think of my future. I dream of a day when I find a true friend. It's hard being so alone sometimes. Sometimes you just need someone to lean on, someone who understands you. That need for a friend has only grown over the years. My mind betrays me with thoughts of death and suicide. I also struggle with an addiction, but all these things I've kept to myself for years now. And I can't help believing that if only I had someone that I could trust with all my secrets, someone I know I can talk to who won't judge me, that I'd finally win this fight. This song.... beautiful!
+Minne's-Shizzle If you love the movie, you might really enjoy reading the original Tarzan book series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I read them with my son when he was a kid and we both enjoyed them very much. It makes watching the film that much more fun.
When you listened to this as a kid. You didnt know better.. but now when you have grown and see the outside world. You see what a masterpiece Tarzan and this song really is.
Once again, A track written by the Legendary Phil Collins in such an iconic film and soundtrack in my childhood, that applies to me deeply, in all honesty. Real relatable, as I was always like a stranger because when I had moved to an entirely different place I didn't have many friends and was always the odd one out with my twin brother, but as time went on, I found many others like me and created many bonds. A track that I'll never forget, and one that will always be in my heart deeply. Thanks Phil, Always my icon, and again glad there's so many people that still listen to this underrated track these days. An unforgettable lyric, that I'll always remember; "Come with me now, to see my world, Where there's beauty beyond your dreams, Can you feel the things I feel, Right now, with you? Take my hand, There's a world I need to know" Legendary!
Honesty, my all time favorite movie since my childhood. Legendary soundtrack by Phil Collins, The Cast, the storyline, and the characters. Till this day, this movie and soundtrack brings me joy and a bit of tears to my eyes. If you asked me to describe this movie, I couldn't fit it all in this box. This film once out carried many childhoods espically with my generation, and some of these music literally give sentimental meaning to my past experiences, and life. Pure legend of a film. Happy Birthday Phil, thank you for creating this masterpiece. Always a Legend.
This song speaks to me as someone with autism. I only developed social skills so my wife would like me. I’ve practically taken a course in psychology to understand her and I’d do it again for her gorgeous smile. Sometimes I felt like I really was raised by gorillas. But through persistence she warmed to me just as Jane did for Tarzan.
Literally, I always come here for a listen but honesty, my all time favorite movie since my childhood. Legendary soundtrack by Phil Collins, The Cast, the storyline, and the characters. Till this day, this movie and soundtrack brings me joy and a bit of tears to my eyes. If you asked me to describe this movie, I couldn't fit it all in this box. This film once carried out many childhoods espically with my generation, and some of these music literally give sentimental meaning to my past experiences, and life. Pure legend of a film. How time flies though. On Tuesday, the 19th of April, I'll be 20. How I wish we could all go back in time to live these days. The lyrics to my life, with all I've been through. The greatest soundtrack of all time.
When I migrated back to India during the childhood years in schooling days, it felt the same like how the lyrics are going about. A whole new culture, lifestyle and harmony to enjoy with and moreover, in the beginning, I felt very lost and alone. But even then, only one thing came to my mind every time I stepped out, "I wanna know.."
I love that if you take the song and apply it to almost any context it will work so good in showing the desperation of wanting to know more people like urself that will understand u in a way even close loved ones can't.
“somethings familiar about these strangers like me” - Neanderthals when they saw Homo sapiens for the first time (also the Spider-Man meme comes to mind)
Phil collins, you mean so much more to us than you think, i hope somehow some way you think of us still, as the audience that ssw your true potential, someone who could instill a child like wonder in us all, you're the reason i still cling to my old self as a way of classic wonder filled comfort, i only wish i could do the same for others as you've done for us, to a legend...Phil collins 💕
Tarzan is my second favourite Disney movie. And I love the soundtrack. Phil Collins didn't have to go all out❤. (Brave is favourite Disney movie. My great grandparents are Scottish and I can relate to Merida so much)
Brave was def one of my favorites because of the princess independence . She is still one of my favorites along with mulan tiana and belle + pocahontas..
I played this song from Phil Collins on the piano and it rocks. My friend remembers it well. Please make it clear that I'm not exactly a Phil Collins fan, but I want to sing this song aloud on 📷 in front of my friends sometime for Café Quarantine Karaoke. 👍🏻 if you agree and find it inspirational when it comes to visiting sick children at least 6️⃣ feet away from them at the same time.
No idea why but this song really makes me wanna tear up not sure if it's just the great memories or if i connect with it or phill collins just goes hard on the whole movie and just so beautiful to the whole movie maybe all 3 idk
I've seen Tarzan I believe once. I don't watch things that make me super sad that's why I haven't seen Lion King again in so long. But I will get down to a song

Disney: Ok. Remember Phil, it’s just a story based off of Tarzan, the Ape Man. Give us something good but it doesn’t have to be ama- Phil Collins: I WANNA KNOW! CAN YOU SHOW ME?! I WANNA KNOW ABOUT THESE STRANGERS LIKE ME!
Phil Collins did not have to go this hard on that soundtrack but he did, he did it for us
Still makes me cry watching it today
Bruh he really went off for no reason. 🤯😂😂😂
He did it for Tarzan ;)
One of the best
💯
I really appreciate how serious he took this soundtrack. Most people wouldn't put so much effort into a kids film
His effort won him an Academy Award for 'You'll be in my heart'.
This legitimately sounds like it could've been one of his hit songs from the 1980s.
Same
Yeah, him and Elton John both didn't have to give nearly as much effort as they did for this and The Lion King, but I'm so glad they did.
Tarzan and its soundtrack are so underappreciated
I know! The mocie has the most inspiring songs yet nobody recognizes most of them
JemimaPow it makes me cry Everytime lol I always try to get people to appreciate it
I absolutely love the sound track!
@@priscillaruiz687 Tarzan was one of my childhood favorites and I find Strangers Like Me to be pretty relatable, well, because I'm autistic.
Very true
This will forever remain my favorite Disney soundtrack and movie. It's just so good, right up there with the Lion King.
Same here. My favorite movie when I was kid. And still is after 20 years.
And a goofy moive
BARS
No one is talking about Atlantis???
And Flight of the Navigator

Gosh playing this on the ps1.. good memories
GameCube gang
man im the same but on a ps2
a 2000s baby who played ps1 will forever have my respect
He crooned for us ! He vibrated his oesophagus and vocal chords at simply the perfect pitch ! And words that simply strikes the soul and heart !
What a masterpiece of human biology and spiritual greatness !! Simply wowsers !!

2:27 will always make me laugh because that "I wanna know! Can you show me?!" fits so well with Clayton raging over Tarzan 😂😂😂
Dig the Andrew Spider-Man pfp

that was the gayest thing ive ever read and now my computer likes men
ItsYuGirlHakase I only liked this comment because it was so clearly a friendly jab, and also because I just about crapped myself laughing.
What you said really speaks to me
Even among family we're still strangers. I mean think about it, how well do we really know our supposed "family members"? Yeah sure we talk and tell stories, but how well do we know each other really? I don't REALLY know any of them at all. It's kinda sad, really.
I've randomly had this song stuck in my head for weeks and now I can't stop listening to it lol

🥺
Just know, you're not alone. That day will come ❤️
*I WANNA KNOW CAN YOU SHOW ME !*
Keep it together you got this
The creator is God stay strong
It's pretty cool that Phil Collins plays every instrument in his songs and also does the vocals.
I used to watch Tarzan like 4 times a day when i was younger hahah, so i still remember this song. It makes me sooo happy, i love that movie!

Minne's-Shizzle I know right
It brings back memories of me and my cousin's when we were little
We used to always watch Tarzan and Disney movies now we watch RUclips lol
Minne's-Shizzle I did to
When you listened to this as a kid. You didnt know better.. but now when you have grown and see the outside world. You see what a masterpiece Tarzan and this song really is.
Love the lyrics...❤😭 prolly one of the underrated artists out their
Phil Collins has never been underrated here ,,, Genesis drummer and front man , solo artist ,, Are you kidding me ! ?...lol
I love Phil Collins, but I don't think you can really be considered underrated if you're one of the highest selling musical artists of all time
Once again, A track written by the Legendary Phil Collins in such an iconic film and soundtrack in my childhood, that applies to me deeply, in all honesty. Even after all these years I still get goosebumps listening to it
Your pic made me shit my pants
This movie was incredible, and one of the biggest reasons why is this song right here.
I can hear this song all day and never get tired

That's weird, I love this song for the exact same reason. It's cool that someone else interpreted the lyrics in the same way :)
My dyslexia made me read "why do I have this growing need to be inside her" and I was just like "wut"
+RavenMaster1313 Perverts don't belong here ...dafuq
You known I miss this music
I'm crying omg
I mean you're not wrong
